Politically Speaking

A word or two about my view of the politicians
we presumably put in positions of power
hobbyists bought and paid for under the table
catering to manipulating lobbyists by the hour
where saying nothing yet flapping their gums
offending no one when sitting on the fence
doing naught but wagging their tongues
and all the while protesting their innocence
dodging the bullet by ducking the question
avoiding the topic with digression
self-serving landing votes with glad-handing
fingers firmly crossed behind the back
conscience-free they sleep well at night
there's nothing (short of gun) can be done to keep them on track
those more than a few who are quite literally
caught red-handed with their pants down
making a mockery of you and me
should be tarred feathered and run out of town

To You, With Lust

lust
seducing me into a moment of unfaithfulness
drawing in my wandering gaze
fingers reaching through the dimly lit doorway
sinfully running through my hair
filling my mind with a myriad of thoughts
social
historical
carnal
poetic thoughts

seduced by a street hustler on the corner
bought things I never intended to buy today
never needed or wanted
door left ajar
low light seen on the night stand
creeping along the back hallway
trying not to get caught red handed
satisfy my moment of gratification
couldn't help myself
transfixed
memorized

lust
when I saw the first three lines of your poem
fever pitched curiosity
hating the term
"nosey"
but it is what it is
and that's alright
first three lines of your poem
slowly pushing the door ajar
lustful eyes
peering through the haze across the room
watching you slowly disrobe
to see the nakedness of you
your poem
your poetry

Everyone sees
except the clown
eternal illusions
edged into oblivion
exposed
even old ladies laugh now and know
earmark of fool
ego bigger than a hallmark brain
egotistical mind ejaculated into space
eccentricity of ai caught red handed
embodiment of fraud
emotionless thief who steals the spotlight
empathy a pill he will never swallow
embezzling attention anyway he can
enchanted realms, he has been forbidden
encroaching on poetic graveyards, a sin
ears that hear, eyes that see
escape this villain, run for sanity

Premium Member Gooey Gossip

Did you hear the latest dear
Gooey gossip hot off the press
Like a cold beer for your ear
But hold what you know close to vest

I hear that man is really a ma’am
Or it may be it is vise versa
The sports team is in a sham
No one willing to silver serve her

Well I’m told there’s no hope
For the pervert posing professor
He pretends to hold heart of gold
Till he caught red handed confessor

Well I hear another teal tale
Seems the woman lies to her mate
Aftermath is the dad bales
For she has lied about the father’s babe

What say you about the pew
Going to bust hell wide open
Of the few like me like you
Who gossip with tongues so golden

I say that if it is a fact
One can surely surrender to share
For no one is perfect as glass
Life is but a truth or dare

We share a truth and slanted news
Not always seeing the error of ways
Until the news is about you
Enjoy the gooey gossip of the day

NO More day NO More night
Rainy sun and blue moon in the half-light of day
Dancing with green silence
NO more music caught red-handed
by the simultaneous clash of lives
in the middle of the orange street ablaze
by the simultaneous shock of lives
exploded in he middle of the yellow glowing night
by the glare of a dark haystack

he went to see his bride	.
finding a wig on his round, shining bald head, she
		loudly cried.

		he felt ashamed,
as he was caught red handed, he
		proclaimed

		inept,
		on the spot, he
		wept

he went to see his bride.
as he was caught red handed, he
		wept

A questionable young lad from the county
Went searching for a well-known burglar’s bounty
Found an empty croaker sack
With a handy auto jack
Ere he was suddenly stopped by a Mountie.

When Anger Is Surpassed By Caring

Gotcha
Caught red handed
Busted

You are indeed a

Fake
Fraud
Disingenuous

And how have i come to
this conclusion

Your word's and thoughts

Not mine

As you choose to record them
place them in ink

And they are now open for
scrutiny on public record

So forgive me if in future i
no longer choose to care
and now come across as angry

What can i say but just like you
or anyone else i hate it and it
hurts being let down

When someone says one thing
yet then goes ahead and does
the complete polar opposite

Like you just did

The proof is in the disappointment

A Bully

A bully is a criminal caught red-handed in Japan,*
Vietnam,† Afghanistan, Iraq; a culprit or a marked man
Who entitles only himself to missiles, putting a ban
On possessing them by others; and try as much as you can
To put into his empty skull with your best-laid scheme and plan
That he is wrong, he won’t perceive. You should only weigh and scan
All ways to find one to teach him a lesson for his life span.

Caught red-handed, but he knew what to do!
"The dog ate my homework"' once worked for me too.
But for federal and international crime,
Hardly a kid's assignment, I guess he does not know
that.
Let alone the city he is in, nor the time.

The pretense, the lack of integrity!
Now covered by "oh, he stutters, you know?"
I am insulted by this sham and this elderly ham.
Is that how thick headed an American
He believes I and many others am?

When the bacon began to fry turning sides burning
the sausage jumped of the pan when the egg squealed

It was then you saw the beef stirring underneath surprised
behind a joint the fat was cooked just right bubbling

Dripping boiling lard this greasy mess left two feet
something was added pepper sprayed in wording

Peeling the onion the salt dropped into the pot spiced
naked to the bone you were caught red handed

You're in boiling water now deeply stuck up or down system
where the temperature is gauged within a stew brewing

Which cut would you like to begin with exposed
because I smell something toasting in front of the grill

I

know that

you’re cheating

with deception.

It's perfectly clear

the only one

you deceive

is just

you

Premium Member Too Good To Be You Parts 1 and 2 a Poem On Plagiarism

I guess we can struggle when we sit down to write
But use your own words - to plagiarise isn’t right
When I read a poem that’s simply too good to be true
I then begin to question, was it even written by ‘you’

If I google a few lines it will give me the answer
You’ve been caught red handed – you were a chancer
I just want to read poems that I’ve never read before
If I find stolen work I won’t read ‘yours’ any more

Why claim words from another writer, as it is a crime
You’ll never find stolen words in any poem of mine

Part 1 posted on soup 7th February 2015

Part 2 ...

To obtain contest glory and gong
You stole another's words, it's so wrong
Plagiarism is vile
You've done it quite a while
I’m hoping this is your swan song

Hollander died aged eighty three
So tell me how could it be
His work’s here on soup
‘you’ wrote it – that’s poop
Soup booted this fraud speedily!

Sadly the culprit has once again been posting stolen work soup even entering it for contests, thanks to eagle eyed souper's he has been removed once more.

Roaming

Roaming
that thick soup
of a green countryside,
the black eyed Susans
were our only witness,
silent as corpses,
unaware that truancy was our creed as we
drove to buy beer in souped up
shiny chevy convertibles
as we listened to Motown and sang
to those tunes when we crossed the state line,
lunching in Manhattan,
home by dark,
knowing we'de be caught red handed by the principle,
our suspension notices written up in eloquent script,
yet still.....
it was worth it,
to roam as free as that April New Jersey wind,
new and bratty.
