"Someday, somewhere - anywhere, unfailingly, you'll find yourself, and that, and only that, can be the happiest or bitterest hour of your life." ~ Pablo Neruda
I sail through citrine waves of the moon’s pulse,
weaving my spark from sea-stars
numb to the blaze of a dream-lashed gaze ~
mute to the masked mist of ghosts,
as somehow between the seraphic sighs
of rising Luna and the aching sun,
there I found my muse crawling and cradling~
clouds of love bathed in luminous lavender…
So tonight, must I heed black-magic mantras,
spelled in neon gold by lips that lie,
or shall I wade through caramelized clarity,
for I’ve long homed hues of blooming twilight,
brushing the wistful heart of waning dusk,
drowning fiery flares within vain veins,
while the wind assumes I’ll touch no sand,
anchored by timeless traces of poetry...

Dip 'em in caramelized honey or gummies
Without it, they taste kinda funny and runny
A Carnivale only for bobblehead gods
A barrel of laughs for the rest of us clods
That are blubbering bobbling bobbers bobbing
For corn-on-the-cob

Christmas 1947
It was a time of deep poverty
with flour, milk, and margarine
my mother made porridge
put the pan on the table
said to her three children
dig in it is all we have
went to bed and bitterly cried
A child doesn't know it is poor
we ate the porridge and fought
about who was to scrape
the caramelized bottom of the pan
We, children with belly full
went to sleep, my sister on the
sofa, my brother and I on the floor

Candle-lit cravings ooze,
caramelized almonds,
creamy layers of love~
carving midnight spoons in
crisp cadence, coated with
cocoa milk; velvety
clusters of sweet essence.

When the aromatic garden of celestial spheres, splatters acrylic herbs,
I listen to soft serenades of sakura raindrops,
floating along singing sapphires, longing to reach the unseen colors, veiling cherry-blossom skies.
I ponder, if I could catch drizzling silhouettes of dancing diamonds,
would I then find petrichor tales of forsaken twilight?
Perhaps, in their liquified state, metaphors do flow,
as I am the aesthetic aura of the champagne sun before raspberry rain,
chasing butterflies and kaleidoscopic moonstones,
rising from the pit of poisoned puddles,
where petals of pretense play h i d e and s e e k, luring me into a delicate destruction.
Now I swim amidst surging sorrows, finding jade stars~ hidden between tarnished turquoise, allowing trickling jewels of the azure lagoon, to anchor my sunken spirit to an island of unfaltering faith.
There, I’ll see beyond blurred blues, the caramelized eyes of a poetic knight, writing sensual sestinas to soothe my sleepless seas, rippling with rhinestone regrets upon rain-soaked shores.

She is sweet but psycho:
demons in her mind run wild at night,
refusing to let her see beyond grey circles,
that left her spiraling in panic
through perpetual plagues of pain.
Oblivious to the sparkling stars
arrayed in a straight line,
her memory's attic is clogged
with bruised tears,
collected from gloomy
summer symphonies of fear,
that froze her will
to comprehend what’s real
when creative lies become truth.
Yet she rises from hellish nightmares:
like morning sun-birds,
unaware of all the maniac mantras
chanted through wicked midnight hours,
dressed in darkness
as a paranoid piranha,
deeply irritating sane eyes,
her mystifying aura was never
destined for weakened souls,
lost in her own
messed up splitting perceptions.
She still keeps her faith intact,
finding peace from being understood,
amidst the unhinged chaos carried
beneath her caramelized skin.

Glittering glass on gossamer ground
untamed saffron blaze tackles its task
a flawless waltz
Beaded up pristine runaway stars
In a bright, shimmering stream
weave shards of light onto a string of pearls
speaking upon ageless beauty.
I'm facing the sky
toward shards of dwindling light
patterns devoid of time
When daylight has faded
a caramelized lion and Noah ark coexist
placing my palms upwardly focused
With you in mind, I venture outside
rhapsody vibes under Moon candle
dreams seep into reality.
My heart, a litmus of love, triggered
emotional turmoil.
I just wish to offer you the best
of myself.

His spider web eyes
Delicious amber caramelized
Persuasively lively
Quick with playfulness
Surrounding with curiosity
Open to suggestions
Offering her Shangri-lah
She steps into his arm gladly
Eager to begin her forever dance

her increasing wants ergeses me
to satisfy
the need for meat
I never ask why
the gravy sauces the plate
and covers the imperfections
of potatoes mashed to accompany the meat
this meat so tender
so damn tender
the edges crisp with sweet caramelized sweetness
salted perfectly
pink the center of the funk
the plate holds all this junk
tender enough to eat with a spoon
cooked well enough to tell somebody
to come over here
and eat like I ate,
come on ya'll dig the ripe, ripe roast
chef want sum pleasing for his teasing
tip the waitress, no?
your glad bag, and sum pictures
remove the meat from yo' denture
the wine was cheat but sweet
I really enjoyed yo' sweet, sweet meat!

Flavorful horizon
Yellow sun hot like white onion
Cantaloupe moon
Sweet as butter briskets
Trees those greens like broccoli
Valley deep of soup stirring gravy
Baked mounds rain drops
On golden sands risen
Flavorful world
Delicious earth
Spinning matter like in a blender
Containing mountain tops of chocolate
Flavorful world sweet as caramelized sugar
Edible matter

Never had I embraced an officious abode as religiously before
But this striking red and white interior I started to adore
If I was out on a run and needed to use the loo
I’d stop by and relieve myself with no urgency to remove my shoe
Nested on the second floor and fairly warm during the cold
Drizzles off my head and from my eyes, it did hold
I have been offered a variety of sandwiches there
And sweet smiles and embraces by my snug caramelized bear
In the Fijian vicinity the British Big Ben would sound
Despite the degree of my insanity, my heart in tranquillity would pound
Last month when I stopped to say ‘hello’, at my mother-in-law’s house
The security guard enquired if I was the ex-owner’s spouse!
I stood speechless as in that relationship; we had no commitment
I then went to my mother’s home and painted it with an imitation ruby and snow, forfeiting a tenderly futile hunt.

My heart, this morning, says sorry to you,
It apologized for what it had done,
It apologized for all the pain it had caused,
It apologized to everyone,
For falling in love with her beautiful dress,
For loving the shape of her curve,
For falling in love with the dance that she did,
For falling in love with hors d’oeuvres,
The caramelized onions, pizza wheel, chicken waffle,
And lentil meatballs on a stick,
And eating all the strawberry buttermilk donuts,
And eating until you were sick,
My heart, this morning, says sorry to you,
My beautiful stomach and gut,
Especially sorry for those chillies I ate,
And sorry to my tender butt.
