My heart, this morning, says sorry to you, It apologized for what it had done, It apologized for all the pain it had caused, It apologized to everyone, For falling in love with her beautiful dress, For loving the shape of her curve, For falling in love with the dance that she did, For falling in love with hors d’oeuvres, The caramelized onions, pizza wheel, chicken waffle, And lentil meatballs on a stick, And eating all the strawberry buttermilk donuts, And eating until you were sick, My heart, this morning, says sorry to you, My beautiful stomach and gut, Especially sorry for those chillies I ate, And sorry to my tender butt.
