Notes About The Poem

Sakura Raindrops

When the aromatic garden of celestial spheres, splatters acrylic herbs,
I listen to soft serenades of sakura raindrops,
floating along singing sapphires, longing to reach the unseen colors, veiling cherry-blossom skies.

I ponder, if I could catch drizzling silhouettes of dancing diamonds,
would I then find petrichor tales of forsaken twilight?
Perhaps, in their liquified state, metaphors do flow,
as I am the aesthetic aura of the champagne sun before raspberry rain,
chasing butterflies and kaleidoscopic moonstones,
rising from the pit of poisoned puddles,
where petals of pretense play h i d e and s e e k, luring me into a delicate destruction.

Now I swim amidst surging sorrows, finding jade stars~ hidden between tarnished turquoise, allowing trickling jewels of the azure lagoon, to anchor my sunken spirit to an island of unfaltering faith.
There, I’ll see beyond blurred blues, the caramelized eyes of a poetic knight, writing sensual sestinas to soothe my sleepless seas, rippling with rhinestone regrets upon rain-soaked shores.

This is a lovely piece, Dear Ink. Your use of Alliterations and metaphors as always is magnificent and admirable. The feelings I have towards the rain are a mixed one. I would love it if the drops were really raspberry. "where petals of pretense play h I d e and s e e k, luring me into a delicate destruction." Amazing imagery here. And I love this too "writing sensual sestinas to soothe my sleepless seas." I could feel the rage of sleeplessness already and sestina is one tricky form.

IE, fascinating exploration of raindrops and what we would experience if we could follow so many of them. Somehow, you are able to do what no one else can. You take us to some very dreamy scenes! Smiling!

What a captivating poem - it is quite mesmerizing. Your breathtaking descriptions of colors - tarnished turquoise, blurred blues, champagne sun before raspberry rain, the caramelized eyes of a poetic knight are truly awesome. Your write is magical, presented with volumes of poetic talent. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Such beautiful alliteration in your poem. Like me, you love rain falling and waiting for the petrichor to infuse the fragrance of earth. Should rate high in this contest. Blessings, my friend.

Glad that the poem ends on a happy note...."There, I’ll see beyond blurred blues, the caramelized eyes of a poetic knight, writing sensual sestinas to soothe my sleepless seas, rippling with rhinestone regrets upon rain-soaked shores." Love these lines. Instead of wallowing in despair, mind finds its own defense by looking for safer shores of faith, instead of swimming amid surging sorrows. Empress, while you clothe every thought in powerful metaphors, I think of raindrops, only as water drops originating from clouds and coming down as rain from the sky..... That differentiates a great poet from an ordinary poet.

A lot of great imagery here with the use of fine alliteration.. It is so colourful also.. Your poem takes the reader on an emotional journey from contemplation and longing to a sense of resolution and hope. The initial wonderment transitions into a more introspective and somber reflection on life's challenges ("delicate destruction" and "surging sorrows"). Ultimately, the poem ends on a hopeful note, with the speaker finding peace and inspiration in the "caramelized eyes of a poetic knight."
