Notes About The Poem

Written for Andrea Dietrichs Pleiades contest on Food. As a chocoholic i had to do chocolate

Chocolate

Candle-lit cravings ooze,
caramelized almonds,
creamy layers of love~
carving midnight spoons in
crisp cadence, coated with
cocoa milk; velvety
clusters of sweet essence.

Even adults succumb to the allure of chocolate, my dear Ink; I must admit, my diabetes prevents me from being a huge admirer of the sweet treat, but I can't deny that it entices adults as well. My mouth is watering from reading your description. With your vivid metaphors and impeccable wording, you created poetry that was unmatched in its day.

Chocolate is not the weakness of children alone, but something that tempts elders too. But many with sugar levels high, dread it and finally yield to the temptation. Your description has made my mouth water. When we went to Europe, we bought two massive bars of Toblerone and some loose chocolates from Switzerland to be gifted to our sons. But as they didn't come in time, we both ate it bit by bit and now the whole thing is almost over. "Caramelized almonds and creamy layers of love...." crisp cadence quoted with coca milk....What exotic ingredients! So delectable!

My goodness!!! If ever there can be words to describe the divine nature of chocolates, then they can't be more heavenly than your ethereal descriptions!! I'm beyond impressed by your artistic ability to illustrate such a vibrant and caramelised pleiades that can make anyone swoon and crave for chocolates, like I am now, hahhaaa, this is so delicious ~ "candle-lit cravings", "creamy layers of love" wowww!! "craving midnight spoons in crisp cadence" now that's a unique and breathtaking line.."Velvety clusters of sweet essence" That makes me wonder if chocolate chips are lil shiny stars glistening in the midnight skyyyy ahhhh ~ your imagination is absolutely brilliant my dear fairy goddess. This pleiades should do really well in the contest, best of luck! Sending you lots of love and light always, this one's going in my FAVES ~
