shampoo that comes from jojoba
stands and cheers with a rah rah rah
softens curls in a lovely way
used for lotions too many say
jojoba bush is useful for many
in your yard, do you have any?
the cuckoo is a lazy trickster
she lays her eggs in bush warbler’s nest
remember Mayzie LaBird in Dr. Seuss’s book Horton Hears the Who?
Bush warbler is tricked by cuckoo bird.
She thinks the eggs are hers.
Takes care of them until they hatch
And then raises cuckoo’s baby as her own.
Bush
There’s a prickly bush in
the front garden literally after
his own
heart.
Love came to me like a warm fire
Hugging me in a cold wintry night
As a burning bush you engulfed me
In your flames of desire
A little delay till our souls met
Never caused any harm
It was God's miracle
That brought us together in this cosmic bond
But it takes time to embrace the pain
Of not having you near
And loving you wholeheartedly strong.
Rose-bush blooms, sky's canvas vast,
petals open, close, a sigh.
He, a silent, steady,
rooted presence, watching nigh.
Love, a quiet, lasting bloom.
as season fades
so do the blooming roses
once so proudly seen
when things are tempting
are beating around the bush
should always avoid
when minds may wonder
try to find another way
put minds back on track
bad weather on bay
do pray for a better day
God will know the way
when in God believe
His forgiveness will receive
He is always there
when most unified
effective and efficient
right place at right time
would you rather be
hard to believe or understand
complete idiot
white wind whips whistles
blue blowing bush big branches
denim drunk driver dead
Light
big eyes
watch hidden
behind a bush
waiting for a chance,
stalking a nice prey
a wise lynx
calmly
shines
Ridged, broad and corky wings.
Translucent—your yellow
Iris sits behind the morning veil.
Short season of striking
color. Greed spurs you, or hope
Huddled against the bursting
Of a cursed idea. It will
Spread like children, carried
By the breeze that tickles
Your lobed capsules. They catch
Like sails. You would unfurl and fly
Instead, dragging your webbed feet
In the face of becoming, pallid
Bolts of cloth ensconce you. A virgin
Steadfast and shaking checks the hem
For stains on her
pure white
wedding dress.
frost covers aged rose
petals stiffened by falls chill
sun makes it like glass
Silken whispers greet the blithe morning
damp mist spring tap on red oak door
joyful treat preempted faint dawning
Felicity a phase one can’t ignore
bright daffodil white and pink bloom
fragrant garden bouquet stuff of lore
Alyssum’s plump trailing mound may loom
where greyedging border might seem bare
ideal cluster wraparound March plume
Ever present awe inflames my stare
rampant green aroma gust blown sent
nearby rabbit chuckled in its lair
Ample rose bush color splash in lent
showcase of enduring floral sign
tints and tones that ruffle by assent
Snowdrop bells perennial align
sprout from moistened brown earth
on pebbled wall a green creeping vine
Embrace this heady seasonal birth
marvel at its blue spruce tapestry
exhale your élan vital of mirth
When I speak of
Loneliness
I guess
I speak of companionship
The ability
Or lack of
To foster that
Over time
To grow old
In someone’s arms
Share history
And photo albums
I look upon couples
Old and young
With envy
And a little sadness
Yet
Deep down
I knew all along
My life
Would lead me
Here
To this
To this point
For that was the plan
I had dreamt
For years
I didn’t want it
I prayed for it
Not to be
So
I go bush
When I can
Or wonder
A far off
Golden beach
And this is where
It changes
To oneness
Which I practice
In solitude
Far from
Loneliness
With the bush
And beach
Just me
“The Burning Bush”
At the Burning Bush
the dance cards
were passed
from palm to palm
the flowers plucked
from the wall by green
lounge lizards grinning
“music saved my life”, she said
“poetic”, the Comme des Garçons
like a boy on roller skates said
circling like a shark with
two in hand for what it’s worth
the Burning Bush girl remonstrates
she understands,
“Tango Down?
That’s not a question.
Now.” she demands
“It’s a right Charlie Foxtrot,”
he says skating backwards,
“Look at all that Chest Candy,
it’s enough to make you
want to put on your
Jesus Slippers.” Front on
she bats her eyes, like
its a home run, she replies,
“It’s a real Soup Sandwich
out there Oscar Tango Mike
the Alpha Charlie Ate-up Bravo Zulu
deploy your Sky Blossom,”
she says, back to the wall,
“Tango Uniform
Delta,
Tango Down
Charlie Mike
Oscar Mike
Kaos captive,
Agt 99, H.Q.
holding Control
down”

"A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush"
codes embedded in dossier boxes, below
snowball bush full bloom
heart of enchantment dusk fumes
as butterflies flit
green lawn of languor
and beauties lying in beds
in the mellow noon
white moon and scent orbs
attracting hued birds and bees
stopping hearts and feet
