SKEPTICAL THOUGHTS UNDERMINE VERBAL WARMTH
as offered aloud from masculine parted lips.
When brain doubts unexpectedly burst forth,
ensure same feminine brain shreds them to strips.

MOONLIT NIGHTS OBSERVE POTENTIALLY QUED
magic often downward fracture and fall apart
when a man’s truth isn’t evidentially clued
to a willing and attentive sweetheart.

AMPLE BAFFLED COUPLES DECLINE EMBRACE
if one is not genuinely enthused.
When qualms clearly show on one’s face,
the other’s face soon appears confused.

ENTICING, FOXY GALS HARKEN INTEREST
and good-looking men embolden heartbeats
so that when neither is indifferent
romance may take a stroll down High Street.

The Madman

Sunshine and revelry steeped the day like sweet tea dripping over a glass's edge. Overflow dribbling down rejuvenated the laughter of the gut and burst forth into an excess of jubilation. The cup wants to be filled with adulation for the man to drink; the man is a goblet steeped by the day. Over him jumps his spirit, blooming amidst his body's celebration into a new stance, pose, and guise. The transvaluation of the spirit leads it to elevation, upwards, it laughs yes, raising the cup and dousing its thirst—the birth of a madman steeped in sunshine and revelry.

TEXAS PRAIRIE PARADISE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
here, where the horizon bends.
the morning sun spills its warmth.
the Texas prairie stretches~
a vast unbroken beauty where
golden grasses sway.
the air, thick with the scent of sage,
wraps around me like a familiar embrace.
dust motes dance in the light,
tiny galaxies suspended
in the quiet splendor of morning.
cacti punctuate the landscape
these sentinels of resilience,
their spines reminding me
that life thrives in the harshest of places,
and wildflowers burst forth, fragile yet fierce.
here, the earth breathes differently.
my heart learns to listen
to the distant call of a hawk,
to the rustle of a rabbit, and
to the soft sighs of the prairie.
the hawk circles high above me,
its shadow gliding across the land,
a guardian of this sprawling solitude,
reminds me of the freedom,
of the vastness within and without.
I stand rooted in this stillness, finding clarity.
in the expanse, I find belonging.
beneath the wide-open sky,
I am both lost
and found.
Before the Trees
Before the trees have leaves, their branches,
Brown with bark, but bare,
Sway gently in the breeze, just waiting
For their springtime flair.
In days to come, when buds appear,
Encouraged by the sun
And helped out by some rain, we’ll know
Their dressing has begun.
Then soon enough, in varied hues
Of deep or lighter green,
Those trees will turn the landscape
Into quite a lovely scene.
Plus, add to that the blossoms
That are hiding ‘til it’s time
To burst forth with all their color -
Now you’ve got a springtime rhyme!
Remember
I twisted myself into a strange posture
-thinking it was comfortable-
and my heart struggled to reach past the pinch.
Gradually -like boiling frogs-
pressured increased
as the weight of foolish distraction
settled comfortably upon me.
But ugliness, like beauty,
though often hidden,
will always eventually burst forth from its soil.
What a vile, wicked bloom unfolds -
alerting us to the true state of affairs.
Then - like a prodigal fool
who's already done too much damage
I beg for your grace
Hoping -at least for a moment-
I can become something new
and never forget this ...
But I hesitate to promise.
I have failed such promises before.
And ... yet ... again ... you pluck the weight off of me,
gently unfold me from my twisted position,
and I feel a roaring surge in my arteries
as blood -and grace- return life to my body once again.
Please God ... Please!
Help me remember this time...
Premium MemberA Vine in Winter
denuded of foliage
left with the bare essence of my existence
a gnarled unassuming frame
from which new life will burst forth in spring
firmly anchored in fertile soil
the terroir for the vineyard
selected with care
basking in the watery winter sun
incapable of turning my head for the best aspect
consoling myself with the fact
that my tender tri-lobed leaves
will harvest the energy from the sun
but for now,
I content myself
to relish the well-deserved rest
SOLILOQUY
Silence pierced through the thick blanket
Of his thoughts, heretofore plagued
By a quaff of exhaled tobacco,
Spiralling and somersaulting in the air,
Like a fierce missile
Sent on a sinister mission,
Before mercilessly, ricocheting
Against the backdrop of his unassuming ceiling
There he stood
Imagining the gigantic impact
Of a tiny veil of vapor
As it burst forth from his nostrils
In a single file, before spreading it's renegade black wings,
Intimidatingly traversing every corner of the room;
He googled as the vapor ascended in a frenzy,
Like a gush of morning Dew,
Swaddling the orbit,
Before being subdued by a battalion of torrential rain,
Descending from the sky defiantly;
To proclaim the Cacophony and preponderance
Of the generic nature of life.
The Scent of Wormwood
When the whip of the wind strikes the earth’s flank,
Dark clouds rush forward, dragging low and dank.
Like a female camel  moaning for her calf,
The heavy clouds, their big nipple isn't half.
The autumn sky weeps, then suddenly smiles,
The dark clouds drip in a rhythmic style.
Washing the dust from the steppe’s face,
Shaking the heads of wormwood in its embrace.
The poor wormwood stood there, unable to sway,
Shoulders heavy with dust, locked in dismay.
When the cool breeze brushed its face in delight,
Its fragrance burst forth, wild and bright.
Oh, how marvelous, this land so beloved,
Its cherished scent holds all life discovered.
If not for wormwood, so enduring and true,
Every other plant would have burned through.
White throat open to the sky—
I swallow light, spit out beauty
Like bloody stars
Dawn splits me open.
There is no gentleness here:
I break Into a fierce being
Pink wounds flowering
In your careful living room,
I refuse to heal
My scent, sweet poison,
Seeps through proper afternoons and
Won't be contained
Yellow against black
I burn holes through emptiness
Without your leave
Watch how I burst forth—
Ripping through green fingertips
To claim my space
I bloom for myself
In this vase or on wild earth
Death will find me proud
Premium Memberone second before creation :maybe:
if mankind ever comprehends everything ~ there will be nothing left
sighs god to satan i’ll be outed ~ and you can wave goodbye to theft
well i’m a psychopath smirked satan ~ so exempt from feeling bereft
yeah your greatest weakness said god ~ unable to bear genuine heft
and so creation burst forth ~ perfectly poised from that opening cleft
it simply had to turn out this way ~ no matter how f#cked up or deft
Premium MemberYou Sitting Next To Me
Ocean waves crash against the seashore
you inhale and suddenly you are no more
than a hint of spice on a hot summer day
Water droplets mingle with the salty smell
of the sea, ... you are sitting next to me.
Reflections of our yesterdays come together
tethering nicely like an old knitted sweater
Blanketed moments of us nothing else exists
except the salt, the sea, the air we breathe
and thoughts of you, sitting next to me.
With great density we dip inside the waters of life
only to burst forth, almost touching  eternity...
The shimmering moon bids us hello, leaving behind
an endless thrilling after glow.
Murmurings from mermaids at sea put us in a
drunken state. ..
Together drawn to the secrets of the night,
we sit side by side watching the deep blue sea
I watching you, and you watching me...
FALLING
I'm falling in reverse.
From the ground into the sky.
At the edge of gravity.
To where the laws do not apply.
I'm rising like a phoenix.
From the flames into the air.
Through the layers of the atmosphere.
With rainbows everywhere.
As the world beneath me.
Grows ever smaller still.
Through iridescent clouds.
In Autumn's whispy chill.
Towards the orange harvest moon.
I'm falling in reverse.
Touching golden star dust.
In the infinite universe.
As sun beams dance around me.
Aurora in my eyes.
Falling, always falling.
Into black and silver skies.
As distant stars grow closer.
And purple Nebula appear.
Flying towards heaven.
Gone, the pain and fear.
Because I'm falling in reverse.
Towards the edge of space.
As Supernova burst forth.
Shining upon my face.
Past galaxies and black holes.
Creation in real time.
Subtle waves of beauty.
The feeling quite sublime.
And God is there beside me.
Guiding me through the endless night.
I'm falling into darkness.
Exploding into the light.
Late autumn winds are quickening the leaves
igniting metamorphosis of fall
where spectral colors burst forth and enthrall
a rapture brief, then vanishes and flees.
With fading eyes, she stares through window's eaves
to view the ancient oak, its heartbeat call
she feels the length of years, a weighty pall
her fleeting life, like leaves, will someday cease.
A bitter cold now grips the ancient oak
where destiny does hasten nature’s blows
as dying leaves fall swiftly like a wave.
She wakens suddenly at midnight’s stroke
the scythe of death arrives, as her heart knows
she’ll join the leaves that settle on her grave.
love’s feathery touch
triggered a scent
later recalled
by memory
but the magic
of tingling rapture
could not be replayed
the aspect of our soul
that nurtured desire
consumed by lust
wasted away
oblivious to bliss
poised to burst forth
from the cave of heart
