Buddy Whiskers

“Here Kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty
Here, Buck, Buck, Buck!
Here, Buddy Whiskers!”

I was so sad when you disappeared
and even more when I heard a shot-
afraid my best friend might've been murdered0 though
I didn't want to believe the possibility, at first.

Then the day gradually came, that we had to move
I was sad I would never get to call to you from our window
and truly felt guilty leaving you in that depressing city
uncertain to this day if my fear was truly what happened to you!

Many years later, I still wonder
and continue to think of you
I know that kitties all eventually pass away
but you were so dear and important to me
if I could still watch your TV show, I would
Although it would be hard without you, my unique kitty!

MY DAUGHTER

You, my daughter, a friend for life,
A pillar of constant strength
Against the maddening strife,
You stand by me to any length.
You are sparkling and rare,
A precious priceless gem…
A treasure beyond compare!
And from you will always stem,
Brutally honest emotions and care,
That will shine brightly I know -
Here or there or anywhere,
Like the sunbeams that glow!

Your laughter brings such solace,
In your concern, I find a light,
The tests of time you help me face,
Like a beacon in the darkest night.
Your love and haven so open and true,
A bond that time can never sever.
In every moment I see in you
A gem, a gift I’ll cherish forever.
In this tapestry of life we weave,
So well interlaced in harmony -
Through all the joys and sadness, I believe
That the love we share is a melodic symphony!

Through every trial and every care,
The highs and lows we together share,
Our bond grows stronger with time,
Like a poem with a perfect rhyme!

Premium Member Buddy is Losing Hair all over the place

My dog loses a pound of hair with each step
Buddy is a lovely pet, without a lot of pep
I follow him down the hallway which I just swept
Eighteen clumps of hair circulating make me feel inept

Should I shave the big hairy guy? Would that be bad?
I wade through a swamp of dog fur, it makes me sad
Do we have to eat dog hair in every meal? Asks my husband dear
I pull a clump of loose dog hair off Buddy’s right rear

Queen Of Country 1946-2026

We may choose our friends
even pick our pals
tho' it won't make no never mind
if they're guys or gals
but just to get it off my chest
while keeping you abreast
and not go bust or waters muddy
for me Dolly Parton would have been
my best bosom buddy

Premium Member watching Buddy

my big dog’s tail curls up
he is a great Dane German Shepherd mix
no small soldier
he marches the perimeter of the fence with intent
Resolving to do something
take prisoners maybe?

I watch his struts in amazement
He is a wonderment to me
a dumped dog who became our boss
there is no barking
a ladybug lands on my notebook
I realize the meadows and woods are strangely silent

my dog has disappeared down the hill
I hear the dog flap sound
he is inside with the air conditioning
this is proof there is clearly no threat
attacks non-eminent

Hey Buddy

welcome home buddy
I give it to God
I trust in Jesus
I make coffee sometimes
I love my family
I love my friends
I love the Lord he is my buddy
I trust in you Lord Jesus for all you did for me this life
Knelt down beside you Lord and found I have you within me
we breathe you in with the air
we will be united with you soon
Love you with your agape love filling me deeply
Glory to you buddy Jesus I cannot wait for the unfolding of your surprises for my life Jesus

Premium Member Tribute to Buddy

my older dog is a cross between a great Dane and a German shepherd
his neck is massive; I can barely get my arms around it
it probably measures more than my waist
and I am not petite

Buddy is well-behaved
a gentleman dog
thrilled he has found his forever home with us
after some horrible people dumped him

I screamed when I saw him the first time
He has the amber eyes of a wolf
and the largest teeth I have ever seen on a dog
He can chew through tin cans and he does

Premium Member Ode to my dogs Buddy and Beau

Some other people’s dogs bite, snarl and snap like turtles on speed.
Our young puppy Beau dances, twirls, and bites his tail as if he’s on weed.
The other dog, Buddy, is a gentle giant, over a hundred pounds of love.
He was sent to us via a dumping, from angels who live well above.

It is no accident that God and Dog have the same three letters.
Beau, our deranged puppy is one of those romantic go-getters.
Being a retriever, he fetches everything – leaves, sticks, or a ball.
We are such dog people, we have four dog beds lying in our hall.

They might want to drink water, so we have six gray water bowls.
Buddy sits calmly while Beau digs enormous muddy burying holes.
They have personalities that keep us excited, they fill us with joy.
They want to eat our slippers and remotes, ignoring every dog toy.

Buddy 5

My buddy will always be
like poetry.

But sadly,
the poetry itself caused suddenly
an emotional rift.

And I thought
she will be standing firmly
at her stand
and I would remain feeling
stupidly upper hand and silently drift.

But she
proved herself to be the better one
just to make me realise graciously
a real buddy bond does not ever
break or shift

and showed me thawing my heart
with the sweet surprise of a
buddy caring gift.

Buddy 4

There are two sides to my buddy,
heartless and friendly.
But if you stretch it to three
there's diplomatically deadly.

Heartless and deadly,
it doesn't translate at all exactly,
that she's mean and cruel,
It's just that I can be forgettable.

When friendly is lost in heartless,
I fall into a Shakespearean tragedy.
My emotions
start to cut me into countless feelings,
"To be, or not to be".

Then from a nearer era
famous lines from that song Que Sera, Sera,
with grit,
rolls right on to my feeling's
misunderstood street,
and I think, heartless or friendly,
buddy will remain my buddy always as lovely.

Hopin' and flyin' high
Still somethin' was amiss,
Just you know why ...
It had to end like this

Not fade away a shining star
With three million records sold,
Yet, silent fell his guitar ...
And, glasses rest infold

A sound never to be heard
Soon after that final show,
Boy, give us a clue, a word
Maybe one day we'll know

What happened that dark night
Over a quiet field of corn,
Lost in a flurry of white ...
Then found early the next morn

Ever altered by what he gave
Things change and time flies,
Rock n' roll, rant and rave
And still the music never dies.

Buddy 3

My buddy wants me to go.
In the midst of that made-up nature,
just for the general attendance
and just as a general creature,
to a gathering I sometimes find
so fake and shallow.

She said so formally,
"Why would you need anybody ?
Go, be by yourself, and have fun !"

But buddy, if you could only tell,
"Just go for me,
breaking your aversive shell",
then that would have spun
the fondest reason for me to go,
an angelic reason, oh! my buddy,
you would have emotively done.

Buddy 2

That day, it was a fun day,
I waved at my buddy.
From far away, over the greens
and the tracks,
she waved back at me too.

But the rest of the day
she ignored me, and so ignored me
all the way !
And that got me to go deep
under the deepest of the blue.
