Two of us on a sixties hippie trip
to see if our gears would slip or mesh
innocent but wary yet wide-eyed
to the Imperial city of Marrakech
she perfumed with patchouli
me I traveled totally tie-dyed
all around was peace and love
we teamed to a tee and seemed
a fit the perfect hand in glove
but not long later it was deemed
as it was commonplace to see
in the medina not strapped for cash
kif from the Rif sellers
in the souk smoking hash
the country lacked law and order
no sooner said than escorted
back to Ceuta across the border
funny now in retrospect but not then
how when we blew out on the Sirocco
tho' we hadn't gone so far as the kasbah or bazaar
were deported without ceremony from Morocco
A republic finds itself in a wobbly state,
Governance shrouded by an opaque regime,
Some strands emerge together into a credible tapestry,
Many weaves yet to emerge from the loom.
Decades of simmering hostility,
Punctuated by spasms of bonhomie,
Sputtering out into recrimination—
These circumscribe our strategic choices.
The populace divided, a schism stark and deep,
Hawks and doves in stark contrast.
Neighbourhood's dangerous gaze, fixed.
A hiccup to thrive without peace.
Thoughts of a Border Collie While
Pondering a Bone
Mine, mine, mine, I think
as I drip drool on the floor.
Bloody meat clings
tenaciously to the hard bone.
White fat, like veins of gold,
marbles the red treat.
My owner is thawing this delicious
delicacy on the counter.
I watch and wait with longing
as I think of the animal odor.
Sharp canines will soon tear
and rend all from the cow’s femur.
My probing tongue will pull the tangy,
succulent marrow from its hiding place.
When all has been eaten, it will
become my favorite chew toy as
I will gnaw, gnaw, gnaw until not
one atom remains.
Then I will lay back in the cool shade
and realize I am a lucky dog.
my sentinel cat
lies in watch at the window...
a vagrant, strange pet
approaches from the outside...
encounter at the border
Wall rises high, barrier of steel and stone
“Keep out,” it commands, “this land is our own”
Hope knows no borders, go back home

Today, in Wisconsin, three children lost their lives.
The media of course pours on us, emotional jive!
I, personally, cannot imagine, such a heartbreaking loss.
In a school, no less, friends and parents bear the cost!
Mental illness is a bloody monstrous thief.
When neglected,……it causes endless grief!
Watch the screams to take guns away.
While the breath of innocents by other means.
No…no guns needed …no,none at all.
Young girls choked and raped.. no border, needed.at all?
Fentanyl came here flowing like rivers without any ration.
Add 1,500 last minute pardons, we will not have a nation!

A wall stands tall, a line in the sand
Dreams on hold, as hope slips from hand
Yet hearts still soar, across the divide
For freedom's call done right cannot be denied

My borders are made of lilies.
They are a pleasant reminder where caution begins and conflicts end.
To those who know me, my borders are made with forgiveness, a kind and patient floral display.
To those who try me, they are battle trenches that are now forgotten and unmarked graves.
I have many flowers to give.
They are a welcomed display of love and an unselfish act of charity.
To my friends who know me, my flowers symbolize loyalty, patience, and kindness.
To my enemies who try me with lies, selfishness, manipulation, betrayal, malice or slander
will come to know my borders and why I bring them
lilies.
Most Canadians are influenced greatly
By our Big Brother down to our South
Our cultures are very much the same
We have a common life style
Idolize the same pop icons
We dress the same, we look the same
Their dreams are our dreams
Our dreams are their dreams
Four thousand miles of undefended border
The longest in the whole wide world
That, my friends, is something to be proud of
In this age of constant flare-ups
That seems to happen daily around the world
May this Canada/US Friendship
To be alive as an example to the rest of the world
How civilized people can and do
Exist side by side in perfect harmony
I am proud to be part of this unique
And enduring friendship
Long live Canada long live the USA
Most Canadians are influenced greatly
By our Big Brother down to our South
Our cultures are very much the same
We have a common life style
Idolize the same pop icons
We dress the same, we look the same
Their dreams are our dreams
Our dreams are their dreams
Four thousand miles of undefended border
The longest in the whole wide world
That, my friends, is something to be proud of
In this age of constant flare-ups
That seems to happen daily around the world
May this Canada/U.S. Friendship
Forever be alive as an example to the world
How civilized people can and do
Exist side by side in perfect harmony
I am proud to be part of this unique
And enduring friendship
Long live Canada, long live the U.S.A.

When I open my mouth
Bats emerge
or worse, or better
What more can be said
How much more to know
To share, to oversimplify
Borders, places
That feel familiar, but not
My story
My language, my beliefs
But not my place
The stories that
Illustrate
Castigate
And just wander
In normal conversations
Ordinary paradoxes
Of those who are
Asking for help
Looking for
Dignity
Place
Something ordinary
Our Border Is A Complete Disaster
Miracle Man
September 19, 2023
Each day that passes brings this country more grief,
and migrants coming illegally will be allowed to stay.
From this humanitarian crisis we’re getting no relief,
and the billions its costing, those here must pay.
We helplessly stand observing our population grow,
without any resolve to stop those rushing our borders.
Progressive socialist preach, no need to control the flow,
current leadership should all be given marching orders.
We’re living in a time when our work ethic is weak,
and changing of the guard has let morals skedaddle.
Being truthful and God fearing we dare not bespeak,
which leaves us far up the creek without a paddle.
I stand before the darkness
Barefoot my feet so stand as I give careful thought to the path for my feet I am enraged in rap my mind and eyes are cloudy the scales prevent me from seeing you know my ways
