Democracy is a portmanteau word
People in power, it’s well understood
The power is huge, and the people are not
They give power to a few who sound good
And those representatives are ruling class
They don’t smell like “demos” at all
But they like to be chosen by them, or by us
As democracy fable is told
But there is a sweet paradox I discovered
The assortment of those who campaign
Can’t recognize that it’s people in power
Because ruling’s an elitist game
Plain people aren’t very ‘elite’, to be frank
It’s believed they are not that refined
So what it boils down to is the front rank
Of the very top people aligned
But do you believe it? I doubt if you can
Considering what’s on the list
And what is prepared for us by those men
Looks not too enticing, at least.
“A meaningful life is not being rich, being popular, or being perfect. It’s about being real, being humble, being able to share ourselves and touch the lives of others.” - Unknown
It takes years to develop our persona
time to finetune our vision
then learn that being true to ourselves
is what truly matters most
Life struggles challenge us to evolve
through successes and failures
Defining ourselves is a process
that takes courage and stamina
We learn that relationships
is what’s most precious
We learn what has meaning
We learn that less is more

In saying this I feel the shame
It's not the US alone to blame.
It's also UK & all the EU.
It all boils down to me & to you.
Neither is it only just their mess;
Neither is it politics or the press
Or the corporations
Or other nations.

There was a time in history
When humanity would say "It's no mystery.
It's the work of the devil
That the playing field is not level."
"It's the axis of evil
That allow some to be so gleeful,
When so many must suffer,
For they are 'the other.' "
***
"They should know their place & see!"
Whilst some, happy in their complacency,
Watch millions starve & die;
And the horse we sit upon is so high,
That looking down we do not see
That the real cause is actually you & me.
beautiful red gushes through the exit
beautiful red drips down your forehead
beautiful red does not love you no more
but beautiful red hugs you for a little while longer
oh lady in red, oh lady in red
why wont you join us in the place we all desire?
dissociate your thoughts till it's no longer there
disintegrate your skin till it boils down all your sins
dream of what you'll see before you greet
disappointment fills you till you can't even breath
the tears that you weep will dry like concrete
hold it in not much longer
sadistic mind, hold me tight
catching one last memory before you drift back into immobilizing sleep
Started crashing out
With your picture on the dash
There’s no way I’m catching up
blew my engine trying to get to you
I wasn’t fast enough
Should’ve read the captions huh
Should’ve kept a side piece to avoid the loneliness
I ain’t get no answer trying to count on you
It wasn’t adding up
Hope you stay safe
Ima stay dangerous
I do the dash when i trip
You ain’t hop out the whip
You a crazy ass chick
Im a fool trying to hit
When you pop out the mouth
I’m trying to give you a kiss
I do the dash when i trip
You ain’t hop out the whip
Miss me with that
You ain’t getting back
I can’t count on nobody
Blue faces green fifties
After the bag till it’s with me
The world could get tricky
I pour my heart with some henny
Why these people don’t like me
They always trying to fight me
They know where to find me
It’s always what I say
It boils down to what I sow
Get me off speaker
Tweaking out my destiny
Hang up the phone
Popping out your mouth
Our sex is something
like a ritual
Love me for who I am
And not for my potential
It’s always what I say,
It boils down to what I sow.
get me off speaker
tweaking out my destiny, they trying to know.
Push the issue we ain’t cuff,
You got me pushing all this dope,
Popping out at the mouth,
My pockets chunky, tweaking hold your tone.
Crazy, feeling lazy,
Wish for me to crash out.
Busy bone switch after our freaking history,
Like we was back in school.
You needed someone to get over me
I did it on my own.
Cut me off, you think I’ll bleed it out?
I’ll turn you to a song.
At the end of the day it seems
I know more than I knew in the morning
The daytime reality fades into dreams
The dreams disappear with no warning
It all boils down to the evening
Just one more evening to bear
Since one certain day it’s a different feeling
Cause you are no longer there
So what do I know? Not much
The other people know better
I know you are out of touch
And there won’t be a new letter
A new message, a new phone call..
I don’t know how to bear the evening!
And the end of the day time falls
Comes the night, with updated grieving.
Instead of isolation
consider oscillation
Proof positive
is clear to see
It all boils down
to frequency
Which of these words
hits close to home
a metronome or
garden gnome?
Their differentiation
lies in oscillation
Metronomes oscillate
tick-tick-tick
Garden gnomes isolate in
s i l e n c e
s i l e n c e
s i l e n c e
Will tick-tick-tick
define your life
or silence filled with
fear and strife?
Proof positive
is clear to see
It all boils down
to frequency
Instead of isolation
consider oscillation
Live life one tick at a time
Meter matters as does rhyme
Situational awareness
Won’t protect you if you’re careless
How much better at day’s end
to be found kind
Your life boils down to a conversation
that started at birth, and carries on
until the day it is over, or
until you decide you can carry it no further.
For most of us,
this conversation is like water:
trickling at times,
gushing at others, and
when it's really cold, freezing up
like a frozen pond in the midst
of a deep artic winter.
This conversation, flowing in all directions,
always finds its way back to what matters;
like why you suffer so
about your shortcomings,
or why you think
you are so unworthy of God's love.
Like all conversations, your conversation
must involve both talking and listening.
Always there must be another,
even if it's an imagined other,
for the conversation to take place.
Find your conversation—
the one in your deepest place.
Tune in to the words.
Listen first,
and once you've plugged in,
ask the hard questions:
those whose answers you fear the most.
Depression and heartache and yearning -
common throughout all the years,
general amongst all the masses,
driven by so many fears.
It’s truly the struggle of ages,
despite born of mansion or cave.
Is life the thing that you’re living,
or is it life that you crave?
It's tied to a question so simple -
just what do you live your life for?
Do you live to live in the moment,
or are you searching for more?
But also it boils down to choices,
just how you spend your free time.
And of opportunity, what do you take -
do you grab and try to align
the way that you're living with all that you want?
That's really the question you see.
The one that you'll spend your days looking back on...
throughout all eternity.
My mental notes are like those from a psychologist
Full of monologues and constant wars between myself
Cause most times I'm undecided whether to take the high
For I'm used to the lows that give a mean punch
My mental notes are something of a cry of help
Of a character stuck in he's ways
That it's hard to try and change
Cause it will be like straying from what he's known
My mental notes describes all the chaos
The beautiful madness that creates perfect peace on paper
Cause it all boils down to a harmless paper
And all the harm it can do is cause a long paper trail
My mental notes belong in a mental hospital
Cause I see things that normal minds don't
I hear words speak, and that's not normal
And I make words speak to you once you read them

Veterans Day 2023
I guess it all boils down to this;
we cannot fully grasp the price of freedom,
until the bearer of bad tidings,
rings our doorbell.
It's the doers that will do something in this world
The past it haunts with a heavy presence those idle souls
they sat back as the future of the next generation is stolen
the calling card boils down to those that breathe fresh air
remembering a quote which held me in thought
That peace was the enemy of memory
the wicked stand confounded framed by deeds
there is a spiritual war taking place backwards moving forward
how far down the ladder do we go before stepping up
hate devours love examining the truth if it were to turn face
respect has lost all communication when fighting this beast
unrepentant it suffers the agony throwing bitterness to the fowl
when it crows it worms its way around sympathy
wicked it claws for acceptance never seeing guilty as justice
it hides with the sloth always seeking but never finding
on the tombstone carved once bitten twice shy
here lies the remains of a broken child
whom sold by actions a nation down the river
"The Color of Soul"
Yesterday I got a rug,
A thirty year old Turkish village weaving
Just full of light and joy, so much so
That it makes all my others seem soulless.
Like ***********, soul is something
You can’t define but know when you meet it.
And once met
You will never be the same.
People disparage the modern world
For a variety of reasons,
While at the same time enjoying the benefits,
But it all boils down to it being soulless.
Soul apparently is a delicate thing
Something that isn’t a thing
Exists by degrees
And is expressed in everything we do and create.
And what we create without soul is lifeless.
This would of course
Apply to the children we raise
Which perhaps explains a lot today.
Maybe it’s possible to revive and cultivate soul,
The Turkish rug certainly implies so
Which gives me hope
For myself and every one else.
I still don’t know what it is
But at least I know now how it feels,
And thus see more clearly
What it isn’t.
(8/30/23)
It all boils down
From an undermining perspective
Downplayed when quantified
But a starting point
Hardly can you see
But condenses and precipitate
The collapse of a firm ?
I was a leaking penny
On various blindspots
Can make or unmake you
With just a phrase
And not an edition
I feel liss in your abode
As you wallow in despair
Until you become decedent
Latent and rarely apparent
Don't take me for granted
I am small but mighty
