Two people that I love the most Are standing on two different shores, And I am stranded in between, Trying to mend a quiet war.
Avery looks me in the eyes And tells me , "You shouldn't have to be in the middle of this." But how can I just walk away And pretend that I am blind, When every harsh and heavy word Leaves both of them behind?
Liyah feels the distance grow, She thinks that Avery’s moved along, Traded years of memories For a place where he belongs. She sees him take up all the space, She feels forgotten in the shade, Watching from a step behind At every plan they ever made.
I know the truth of how it goes— I’ve seen how Avery tries to reach, Inviting her to come along, To walk beside us in the halls. But when he shows up in the frame, The distance starts to slowly grow Avery drifts into his pace, And Liyah lets her footsteps slow.
It’s not as simple as a fault, It’s heavy feelings misaligned. I want to protect Liyah's heart, So I keep what I see inside. I cannot pick a side to take, I cannot turn and walk away, So I will stand right in the middle, Hoping love will find a way.
We sat through sixth-grade classes, we sat at lunch side by side, Laughing through the hallways, taking life in stride. Then came the quiet day you had to say goodbye, And years went rushing past as time was flying by.
Now high school's finally here, the halls are huge and new, And nothing feels as bright as being back with you. Two freshmen starting over, right where we left off, With every inside joke and every shared-in laugh.
You’ve always been the sweetest, a anchor in the storm, And now a brand-new chapter is starting to take form. With a baby on the way, a little light to guide, I know you'll be amazing with that sweet heart inside.
Just yesterday you handed me a gift I’ll keep in mind, My very first real phone, the best I’d ever find. It’s got a couple scuffs, a little beaten and worn, But to me it is a treasure from the day that it was born.
I’ve never had one of my own to text or scroll or call, And having it from you makes it the greatest thing of all. Through every shift and change, no matter where we roam, Having a friend like Avery always feels like coming home.
They ask about my first love.
I tell them she ruined me.
Before I knew what romance required,
She was already teaching me
That love looked more like sacrifice
Than butterflies.
She worked when she was tired.
Smiled when she was worried.
Went without
So I wouldn't notice we were without.
Looking back...
Every woman I ever loved
Had to compete with a standard
She never knew she created.
She taught me
That love never needed applause.
I watched her give away
The better portion of herself,
Then somehow convince everyone else
She still had plenty left.
I've spent years searching
For another heart like hers.
Never found one.
Then I remembered...
I wasn't supposed to.
She was my mother.
No wonder no one else ever stood a chance.
(“Something From Nothing”, 2024, original encaustic)
He’s always smiling, the damn fool
Sometimes veiled as a new moon
Sometimes bright as the midday sun,
And always right there with me
Right in front or riding my left shoulder
Good old Death, so patient and kind
Giving me another day
Waiting for that one last dance
As I work the steps, again and again
Wanting to get it right
This one last time.
What do I see in that face anyway?
All that I have been
And all that I may yet become.

She heard the first heartbeat, a tiny, steady rhythm, A sudden, heavy weight, but a future coming with it. At fourteen, the world feels loud, sharp, and quick to judge, Yet standing in the doctor's room, she refuses to budge.
Scared of every step ahead, of how her world will shift, Everything is changing now, a sudden, permanent drift. Let them whisper, let them talk, they don't walk in her shoes, She holds her ground, protects her own, with everything to lose.
Her life is rearranging, the quiet room grows still, A mother’s love is waking up, a strong and steady will. "It’s mine," she says into the noise, clear above the fear, A promise made in silence to the beat she came to hear.
I went to that bench
where we laughed until tears
and cried until smiles.
And suddenly, a bullet of
memories hit me.
You were there,
but in a face I barely remember
now.
Maybe time tore us apart,
but left the memories for my heart.
Funny, isn't it?
How you gave me so many memories
just to become one yourself.
Yeshua is wise yes
Fall feast soon approaching us
Autumn cold brings hope
I wanted to talk with you Jesus.
Found you in my heart.
I Love you Jesus.
Trusting you to return at the perfect time.
Lemon tea with Peace in my heart.
Under the stars till you Rapture us.
Waiting for Jesus my King to bring us home with him.

Also I hope you me and Anna can hang out one day.
the day you come back is my favorite day.
there is a reason i called you tonight
i was thinking of you today
memories of tears and smiles
the life we shared
it's up and downs, and now here we are
friends on different shores
waiting for life to close the book
i just wanted to say how blessed we are
long down this path
and we are the best of friends
that is why i called
we found where our love belonged
so many do not; that saddens me

(thank you)
My heart bleeds red, my soul craves love,
To soar like an eagle or fly like a dove.
Nothing much matters in these earthly bounds;
Not the rust, nor the gold, nor the wealth that surrounds.
I put on the paper with pen and with ink,
The words of the heart we most often think.
For the gold is the sky, freedom is bird,
Life is the blue, and the stories unheard.
— Deb
I love you is not a statement
It is a fact
I love you is not mere words
It is the truth
My love for you equates my
desire for you.
Not suffering nor death can quench
my love for you.
I am sold out for you,
There is no room in my heart for
any other but you
I love you is not a statement
It is my reality
I love you till eternity comes and
parts us
Not wealth nor poverty nor disease
will diminish us
My love for you is beyond the fleshy feelings
It is deeply rooted in my soul and spirit.
Baby I love you dearly.
In you I find my rest.
In You I find my peace
dark days drift into mornings with simple breakfasts.
In heavy hews I am shining all the colors brightly.
Winter is far off not very far but The feast of trumpets comes first.
Singing with joy and gladness will begin when he returns to us.
Dead will rise Everyone is coming home says Gods word.
Shower us in your Blood Lord let us be washed clean by it.
Quake the dawn is coming closer. Under lamenting cries we praise you Jesus.
in you I find salvation Yeshua Jesus Christ.
Truth of your not hiding your face from their spitting and their mocking for us.
Love is the reason we exist. to Love and be Loved.
Right hand pierced for my sake, Left hand Pierced for your sake name.
Killed for us unlike the demons and fallen Angels God died for us unlike them.
Jesus is believed to be The Angel of the Lord who met with Abraham and Carries God's Name.
One Son of God who wants us to be his family.
Trust in Jesus, Believe in Jesus, Have faith in Jesus.
Peace out.
When storms get tumultuous and
Shadows press on your mind.
I stay on my toes, never slithering
From my stance.
I talk to you strong until your
Lights aligned
And walk you through whatever
Predicament.
I keep your self- beliefs loaded
And shield your inner vigor
