Premium Member If I Were

I had a dream that I was the President of the USA and this
is what I would do to make my country strong again. . .

Get every single citizen vaccinated for Covid 19 and variants
Work with advisors on ways to open up the economy
Implement a plan to help citizen find jobs, shelter and food
Work with Border Authorities to open up the borders
For sure make the "Dreamers" USA citizens
Release Mexican children held in cages and unite with family
Work to achieve Climate Change with advisors and scientist
Form a plan to reduce pollution in the rivers, lakes and oceans
Find ways to help endangered species and loss of habitat
Put a stop to import of trophy hunter kills from other countries
Work to create a friendly relations with Canada and Mexico
Respect the rights and treaties of the native Indians
Put into action an end to police brutality with zero tolerance
Work on how to end racial prejudice for all races and religions
Create a great health care plan for all citizens
Improve relations with allies and all countries of the world
Work on gun reforms making ownership more restrictive
Make prison sentences have no option for parole or pardons
Show compassion in times of national or world tragedy
Do everything in my power to make USA strong

News From the Wizard of Oz

It's raining mud in Kansas,
200 miles an hour wind-hammers
broke Kentucky's heart.
Good people rush to help,
poets watch,
dogs bark
reporters report.

In the days of the Delta variants
children are left out in the cold
to eat lunch -
it's for their own good.

Meanwhile an iron gauntlet
grips the neck of the Republic
for its own good,
but it's all bad

and there is still no vaccine
for stupid.

If I Could Change the World

Changing the world just seems so much bigger than me,
it seems larger than just a thought or decision I could make,
but I know deep down there is a strong vision I really see,
taking a stand changing foster home rules for the children’s sake.

Innocent children so timid when leaving with new foster parents,
they are frightened and apprehensive for such a new exchange,
they’ve already been abandoned once before with scary variants,
now having to leave when unknown people who are strange.

I’ve volunteered at a foster home and before and my eyes I saw,
young babies and toddlers seem ready to find a reliable home,
playing blocks, I realized there needs to be a change of the law,
better edification to the parents, it’s possible their duties are unknown.

I’ve seen these sweethearts leave excited and come back scared,
I’d wish to teach these parents how serious are the responsibilities,
it may not be that they couldn’t love them or that they never cared,
but maybe there was maltreatment and realized in not good safety.

If I could change the world I would make sure homes were safe,
much better background checks so no abuse would be found,
better education to raise a child without frustration and haste,
hopefully these blameless kids would grow to be secure and profound.

I’m not implying they will grow up to be complicated and not bright,
I would pass legislature to transform the system for more deserving rights.

Fantasy

Standing amidst the forest trees
listening to their whispered words
breathing their breaths like they were mine.
Enveloped with viridescence:
variants of moss, leaves and grass
whose olfactics overwhelm me.
My mind is intoxicated,
seemingly assimilated
with every patch, leaf and blade of grass
whose metabolism’s are mine
or conversely mine became theirs.
Consequentially, I confess
my fancies assume my psyche
and Truth becomes an illusion.

A Day, a Year

There's this special day that comes once a year
A day for that someone you hold so near
A day where one's age increments by one
A day when you're greeted by everyone

It's the day when you're the talked about 'who'
It's that day when the spotlight is on you
It's that day you receive various greetings
It's that day you can't seem to stop smiling

This is when you express much gratitude
A day that proves that you are much valued
A day where food's simple or luxuriant
There's a dish or two, or even variants

A person then counts to serve as a cue
A day they sing "Happy Birthday to you"
A day I thank God for another year
A year He's added for my daddy dear

Premium Member Known As Dawn

*:**:**:**;**:**

this shining burst strokes early day’s first shade
illumination flashing all corners of galaxy’s face
and this my name was marked in womb’s white lace~~
upon Dad’s request ,as training general abroad, was made

it was Mom’s first time to bear middle- child without Dad around
all present christened me many names for fond memories~~
in the end, i had four titles, certificate’s page singing melodies
Amelia for mother’s, one that’s Grandma’s ~~others subtlety profound

Dad’s desire that real name come from district he was assigned
the meaning “goddess of light”~~first morn’s crocheted shawl~~
an image painting streaks of first daybreak’s gold, brushed wall~
that it was loved by kin, a symbol stamped in family’s history designed

still, more terms of endearment were showered upon me
the nickname” Nette” and more always drifted back and forth tenderly~~
yet, it was an abbreviated moniker plucked from late 60’s modernity
for i have come to be me ,fondly known as such~~ a gypsy so free

intimate souls affix real name with tender variants dearly strewn
~~ they cherish essence of its meaning, such presence like blooming light
my being’s shades of nitrogen green and gold gush even at night’s delight
if you can second guess the enchantment of my name, it’s almost… “DAWN”

Premium Member Cuckoo - A

Uninvited guest;
progeniture subverted;
instinct or ill-will...?

(c) John C Michaels, February 2017

I've posted two Haiku variants on the same theme: one is the traditional 5-7-5 form ("Cuckoo - A") and the other is me branching out to try a more contemporary style ("Cuckoo - B"). I hope you like them both.

Premium Member Machinacs Gold-W

By sheer chance visited Machinac’s island for a few hours
October is the time for frosts, blankets and snowflakes
Where one cannot travel in the motorized vehicles
Beauty of an island is one of Michigan’s pleasures.

Snowflakes, the untouched beauty of nature
They fall with a whisper that you can barely hear
Wild horse, wild horse that is snowflake white
Runs like the wind and glides through the night.

The term meaningful in the world of Appaloosas horses
The breed with a wide range of color variants
Having mottled skin on their lips, genitals and eyes
With striped hooves and thin skimpy manes and tails.

So fascinating and exotic is the color pattern on the body
Looking like someone has placed a blanket on its body
With a pattern of spots tipped or frosted blonde or white
Snowflakes landing on the horses like random spots white.

Swirling and drifting- galloping and skipping motions
The horses and snowflakes like poetry of emotions.

Premium Member Covid Vaccine

Causative agent of disease
One of several variants to appease
Void of any discriminating abstractions
Interaction breeds human contagion
Distress inflamed in us by slow vaccination

Vaccine does diminish Covid effects
Antigen activity does reject
Chills that instill fear among us
Coughs that grip lungs, with expulsion dubious
Immunizations, please make haste
Never ending cautions are relentless
Ensuring man’s safety is quite precarious	.

Premium Member Maximally Great

What’s captured my interest of late:
the notion of maximally great.
Some may find it odd
to talk thus of God,
but it’s part of an age-old debate.

Saint Anselm got off to a start;
got expanded upon by Descartes.
Then Kant came along,
convinced they were wrong;
the God proofs took a shot to the heart.

Anselm, you’ve heard of, I trust,
stated positively, being must.
’Twas Edwards, you see,
said non-being couldn’t be,
parrying Immanuel’s thrust.

Variants have surfaced since;
Plantinga is pretty intense:
discussions unfurled
into possible worlds,
and maximal excellence.

In the end, it all comes down to you;
possibility: a thing to work through.
With regard to reason,
one commits no treason
in accepting the premise as true.

Writing For Myself-2

(Inspiration: Meat Loaf’s lyric found in Deb’s blog)

And I won’t write a poem for a contest
Whoever asks and whatever the provocation
Day or night, rain or shine, east or west
I wont write any more for a contest
But, I would write that
Yes, I would write that.

No more wrestling with Aye Aye mistresses
And Alouetting my cleansing rites
Twisted poems and Burlesque twists
Will no longer test my ragged wits
Shadormas and Tyburns
Will cease to be my nightmares
Creatures of the night
Will turn out to be my matters of delight
And, I won't write for a contest
But, I would write that.

But about our fraught lives
Hope and despair and injustice
One love and its many variants
Things on which I write for myself
Would I quit writing on these too
No..I won’t..I won’t

But, I would not write for a contest
But, I would write that
Yes, I would write that.

PS : Who cares? Why should anyone care?

Premium Member Dancing To No Music

      A mandate came out. Yes!
NO MORE MUSIC FROM ANY SOURCE..
(This would not surprise me, of course)

It had to be announced in the wobbly
       leader’s disgusting, raspy voice.
Oddly similar, to a death rattle noise.

       Fauci, and His Power Mad,Inc.,
Found variants in music~ wow, his logic
       just plain stinks!

*Except for rich elitists, they are exempt.*
But working people he stomps on with joy,
       with utmost contempt!

Waiting now for a moratorium on kissing
        and on sex!
This medical(?)moron would do it ,I bet!

        We never elected him!
How about Psaki, stone cold and grim.
Oh, I forgot! She hails from CNN
Good grief.I need a bottle of gin!

If you do not get how this world is run.
If you say nothing but take cover and
        under thesaurus poetry run?

A big “C” on your back you mightily deserve!
For tossing this country into a stenchy, merde
        reserve!

And you, yes, you who won’t say a peep?
Thousands here, allowing snakes to rule us,
        those creeps!

Hidden beneath Haikus and beneath Invisible
        trophies you chuckle and lie.
As atomic warfare is the new WHITE HOUSE
        hue and cry!

What planet do you live on, I do ask!
As if you cared about life, you are not up to
        such a caring task!

Premium Member The Pepperman and the Attack On Consciousness

THE PEPPERMAN ADVENTURED
BY OPENING A DOOR.
FILLED WITH THOUGHTS
FROM CEILING TO FLOOR.

WAS THIS THE FUTURE
OR A TIME THAT HAD PAST?
WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN
HOW LONG DID THIS LAST?

AMAZED BY THE VARIANTS.
SOME HARD TO BELIEVE.
ONE MUST TRULY BE EVIL
TO EVEN CONCEIVE.

ONLY A PSYCHOPATH
WOULD DARE TO CONCEIVE.
DESTROY HUMAN BEINGS
BECAUSE THEY SIMPLY BELIEVE.

DESTRUCTION OF CONSCIOUSNESS
IS A DEADLY GAME.
IT DESTROYS HUMANITY
SIMPLE AND PLAIN.

ELEVATED CONSCIOUSNESS,
OPENS THE MIND.
GUIDES US THROUGH LIFE.
OUR POSSESSION OF TIME.

UNIVERSAL FREQUENCIES,
ARE THERE FOR A PURPOSE.
TO HELP US ALONG.
NOT INTENDED TO HURT US.

TO UNDERSTAND LIFE,
IS TO UNDERSTAND BEING.
IMAGINATION DESCRIBES,
WHAT IT IS WE ARE SEEING.

TO UNDERSTAND THOUGHT,
IS TO UNDERSTAND KNOWLEDGE.
OPINIONS AND FACTS,
ARE THINGS WE ACKNOWLEDGE.

WISDOM BLOSSOMS,
WHEN YOU HARVEST SOUND REASON.
LIKE THE FLOWERS THAT BLOOM
DURING THEIR SEASON.

JUST LIKE CONSCIOUSNESS,
COMMUNICATION, ESSENTIAL.
UNLEASHING ONES THOUGHTS
AND HUMAN POTENTIAL

WHY WOULD SCIENCE
WANT TO CONTROL HOW WE THINK.
INSTRUCT WHAT TO SAY,
SLEEP, EAT AND DRINK ?

CONTROL OF OUR MIND,
BELONGS IN OUR HANDS.
WE ARE NOT SLAVES
WHO RESPOND TO COMMANDS.

EUGENICIST INSIST,
THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE.
GLOBALIST BELIEVE,
WE ARE JUST SHEEPLE.

BIOLOGICAL BEHAVIOR
MODIFICATION.
AROUND THE WORLD
AFFECTING ALL NATIONS.

WHAT IS TRANSHUMANISM,
WHAT IS IT'S MEANING ?
COMPUTER CONTROLLED
LIVE HUMAN BEINGS?

VIRTUAL REALITY ,
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
ARE YOU AWAKE AND ALIVE
OR ASLEEP IN A DREAM?

DESTROYING THE CONSCIOUSNESS
WILL PAVE THE WAY
FOR THE INTERNET OF THINGS
TO RULE OVER OUR DAY.

ARE YOU MANIPULATED,
AND MADE TO BELIEVE,
THERE'S NO REASON IN LIFE,
FOR YOU TO BE FREE?

I ASK IS YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS,
BEING DESTROYED,
BY SCIENTIFIC TECHNOLOGY
BEING DEPLOYED?
