Blue Hole

There is a blue hole where my heart is
It's been blue since the day love parted
I don't know why it did
The reason is kept hid
And here I am sat broken hearted.

It could have been something that I said
The thoughts keep racing round in my head
I said "get going Jeff"
That's the moment he left
And I can't see why he got upset.

Perhaps it was he misunderstood
When my intentions were just for good
Was being romantic
Got Jeff feeling frantic
And running off as fast as he could.

Or did Jeff think that I meant ‘get lost’
I didn't mean that, I say with heart crossed
I wish I could see him
Though the chances are slim
The flame once red hot has turned to frost.

Don'T Be Upset, Mommy

Mommy, don't be upset
When they say how you should stand, sit and eat
While I munch on your blood and meat.

Just don't be upset
When they advise you on when I should be fed.
You alone know when my tummy needs bread

Mommy, don't be upset
When they say I was born lean or bulky, dark or fair
And force home remedies and weird aftercare

Just don't be upset
When they judge you for the cuts on your belly
Or the amount of milk generated by your body.

Don't be upset
When they rebuke you for keeping me on diapers
Or nag about your choices right from mittens to rompers.

I know how you guarded me for nine months
Every time I kicked from inside, your heart went nuts
When my poor latching has hurt your nipples,
I felt the wetness of your tears on my nerves.

We ate and slept together
We screamed and sang together
I was in your belly and you were in my blood
To meet each other, we worked as a team and laboured.

Now, who are they to make you feel low?
No, whatever they say doesn't help us grow.
Just don't be upset, Mommy.
We'll do only that, what is best for us!

Upset

mr. buffet can’t believe that
so much “inequality exists
without people really getting upset” &
as he & some of his richest friends in the world
start to give up some of their moola
to cause that they see fit,
the fact remains that
enough are not upset---
it is time to get upset
it is time to get in the streets
it is time to do more than occupy
it is time to refuse to settle for the
crumbs
it is time to get more than
upset
it is time to get this empire to
squeeze more than blood from the stone
it is time to stop ignoring people who
are sick of being ignored
it is time to listen to ALL the voices being screamed
at night time & in the day
it is time to indict those who run the empire
it is time to squeeze the rich dry
of what they have gained from stepping on the rest of us
it is time to stop pretending that putting bandages &
ointments on our wounds is going to heal
the gashes inflicted by the history of classism,
racism, ethnocentrism, sexism, homophobia &
flat out violence to those who may seem a bit
different
than the rest of the abiding, ridiculous, flock,
baaaaaaaaa-ing the whole time
whilst breaking their backs for the banks of others
it is time to put an end to all that has been
unsettling the majority
it is time to put an end to all that has been oppressing
the majority
it is time to break down the walls built in front of those
just trying to survive,
smothered in the belly of the most threatening empire on the
planet,
who wields the club upon the domestic population as well as
the international---
it is time &
you know it,
to be more than
upset.

Upset Tummy

When her gastrointestinal tract
went gurglly and angrily talked back;
lamented my Maria,
"This damn diarrhea
with me flat on my back so lacks tact."

Upset For? ( based on A course in Miracles Lesson 5)

Reason to be upset
Not what it seems
The more angry I get
Eludes me what it means

A trigger pushed
Driving me insane
I feel ambushed
Yet only reveals the pain

A truth rejected
A lie believed
Oh so affected
I am deceived

Yet illusive reasons come
To tempt false perception
Feelings again to numb
And believe self deception

Or will this messenger of pain?
Invite true perception and heal
A reminder of true self again
Your choice will reveal

Once an upset farmer in Xin Jia Po*
Built farms upwards in tiers: O! Vertigo!
Produce diminishing
UFOs pilfering
Now he sows wild oats in Infierno!

Upset

A tennis player loses
And they say he’s been upset.
Well, naturally, I understand
Upset is what he’d get.

This term is never utilized
In any other sport.
At least, I’ve never heard it
In the sporting-news report.

“The Yankees were upset tonight,”
Implies they were in tears.
“The Knicks were so upset, they sobbed
In consolation beers.”

You’d never hear The Giants
Or the Cowboys got upset,
Yet tennis players publicly
Get linked with their regret.

I wonder how this word, so sad,
Became the one they use.
Would tennis players rather
Be upset or just plain lose?

Premium Member That's Another Reason I'M Upset

What is it about a Wizard's appearance that gives me pause? I
always find myself guessing about what type of lurid surreptitious
act of debauchery is practiced within the confines of such nonsensical
     attire.

You always seem to run into one of these super naturalists in the dark
recesses of some ancient dim lit pub swilling grog by candle lite.
Come on, would you allow an eighty year old guy with a white beard
down to his navel, wearing a robe that hasn't seen a dry cleaners in
a fortnight, toting a six foot gnarled hard wood staff, into your bar?
The guy won't even take that floppy wide brimmed cone shaped hat
     off when he comes inside.

And another thing, he's always on a quest, never just out for a cold one.
I don't know, this has just always bothered me a little...

Premium Member What Did the Dodo Do To Upset God?

While other birds ran away and hid,
That is not what the dodo did
And, sadly, being ill-equipped to thrive
Designed stupidity could not survive.
Assuming divine intelligence, it's odd;
What did the dodo do to upset God?

A Woman's Lot

A Woman’s lot!

Not yet 50 - well nearly - but not yet!
But I would never have bet
That this would be the year
That would start to drive me to tears
And night sweats….and brain fog
That makes life at times a bit of a slog

Now, who in their right mind would invent
Menopause - someone obviously hell bent
on wanting to cause maximum destruction and misery
As when a mood swing occurs and the potential of causing injury
A woman can easily say “sorry about that” and simply forget
As she embarks on another night of sweats!

Now, where was I, I do forget
It’s my memory you see, again it’s let
me down. From numbers to names
at times they all merge and become the same!

So, I’m told that reaching 50 that it is a great age
to do what you want - even get on that stage
But wait one second - my glamour has gone
My hair is falling out, my weight is bent on
increasing - so to the diet book I must go
to a menu of soup and salad and sometimes I have to throw
caution to the wind and have a bit of bread
to stop me throwing my Ted
at someone’s head!

Sleeping - who needs sleep?
Is it a habit I want to keep?
“Yes” I cry, I love my kip and my good dreams
not the night sweats that streams
down my body - leaving me soaked to the skin.

But not all is lost as to these words I have written
on a topic that is often untold - even forbidden.
So share these words I will
for these feelings and emotions we need to spill
and share with all
so we know it’s ok not to be ok
And make tomorrow (however hard!) another day of people we will not slay!

Premium Member When I Upset the Applecart

They rolled along the dirty road,
With apples fresh among the load.
They stopped a mile from the mart,
As I upset the apple cart,

I stood in front as if to stop,
Causing all the fruit to drop,
Telling where the road had led,
And warned of dangers up ahead.

Told my time of being there,
Coming back all worse for wear.
Be it known, I planned in part,
To NOT upset the apple cart.

These things they didn’t NEED to know,
I felt it was my duty though.
I don’t mind to take the blame,
If things for them don’t end the same.

Thanking me for being nice,
Exchanged an apple for advice,
A different road they did depart,
When I upset the apple cart.

Don'T Be Upset

If I told you
that I hated you,
you would cry,
and I hate it when you cry,
because then I cry too

So if I was hurt
because you were hurt
then maybe
I don't really hate you.
Maybe I hate what you've become
and what you are becoming

As the days pass on by
you can see that your little girl
is becoming a woman
and it hurts to let go
you want to hold on tight

Sometimes so tight that she's gasping
for the world around her
she knows that it is just for her protection
but what would happen if she didn't experience things
on her own

You may tell her what's wrong and what's right
but the truth is
when there's too much right being done
she turns to wrong for answers

so no matter how tight you hold on
she's still gonna learn on her own
and no matter how much you tell her you love her
she's still gonna tell you she hates you

because it's wrong.

Premium Member I'M Allegic To Upset

I'm allergic to upset.
Can't figure what it serves.
My temper flares, my pulse rate soars,
And messes with my nerves.

I'm allergic to upset.
Can't see what good it brings.
It ties my stomach up in knots,
And 'round my gills I'm green.

Today I won't get upset.
Won't let in chagrin.
I'll deal with all things as they come,
And strive for peace within.

I Am Very Upset

I am very upset at the world
That they don't like the word of the Lord
They would rather place all of my trash
That caused me to fall and crash
They hate His word, they hate His truth
When they see it, it gets the boot
I can write about nature and the season
But the Lord's love is not a good reason
To place a poem from God
Now I can't hold back the rod
Because the Devil has them blind
He chains them and puts them in a bind
They're sinking down and fast
They can't look beyond their past
Oh please Lord pull them up from the dirt
Oh please help this fallen earth
My tears are dripping, my tears are falling
Please bring them to your great calling
Release their binds, oh break the chain
Come on Lord take away their pain
And now I stop, and I begin to reflect
Oh please don't let them be drug to Hell by the neck
