Blue Hole There is a blue hole where my heart is It's been blue since the day love parted I don't know why it did The reason is kept hid And here I am sat broken hearted. It could have been something that I said The thoughts keep racing round in my head I said "get going Jeff" That's the moment he left And I can't see why he got upset. Perhaps it was he misunderstood When my intentions were just for good Was being romantic Got Jeff feeling frantic And running off as fast as he could. Or did Jeff think that I meant ‘get lost’ I didn't mean that, I say with heart crossed I wish I could see him Though the chances are slim The flame once red hot has turned to frost. 2nd June 2021 Blue Hole Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Anthony Biaanco
