Don'T Be Upset

If I told you
that I hated you,
you would cry,
and I hate it when you cry,
because then I cry too

So if I was hurt
because you were hurt
then maybe
I don't really hate you.
Maybe I hate what you've become
and what you are becoming

As the days pass on by
you can see that your little girl
is becoming a woman
and it hurts to let go
you want to hold on tight

Sometimes so tight that she's gasping
for the world around her
she knows that it is just for her protection
but what would happen if she didn't experience things
on her own

You may tell her what's wrong and what's right
but the truth is
when there's too much right being done
she turns to wrong for answers

so no matter how tight you hold on
she's still gonna learn on her own
and no matter how much you tell her you love her
she's still gonna tell you she hates you

because it's wrong.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
