Poem that time forgot contest

NEVER ASSUME*
We are told to never assume,
to guess, or to anticipate
or even try to presume.
So if we try to articulate
of things we aren't sure,
do we assume or shut the door
on thoughts we may abhor?
So don't assume, just give the facts
that you are sure to know.
And you will find
it often stumps your mind
how the facts become just so.
The facts somehow get twisted up
even though you know for sure
that you were right and others wrong
no matter to whom you implore.
That's really known as politics
when facts aren't facts and we assume
the facts are just made up for tricks.
Then no one knows for sure
who's right or wrong or just
what is the score.
One side says the other is wrong
and tries to give the true facts.
But their facts are no more true
than a fairy tale or an old song.
So once again we should not assume
to know what we really know.
Just toss it up and then presume
the facts got lost
as round and round you go.

One-hundred percent Italian descent:
four grandparents crossed the ocean, went
through Ellis Island, from Italy sent;
my Italian roots, one-hundred percent.
But D N A samples now tested, ruled-
genetic ancestry can have you fooled!
With full Italian descent overruled-
gene structure in me- completely retooled.
Dumbstruck that percentages showed so clear
my pie chart was sliced- not a full sphere,
my mind was lost in this new-found frontier,
and wiped out ideas that I held so dear.
Through tests, my genetic past now revealed,
sixty-four percent Italian did yield!
Thirty-six percent now unconcealed
some ancestors came from lands far afield!
Mid-Eastern, Caucasus, Iberian too,
Some Jewish, Scandinavian, plus a few
chance Irish genes to mix up the brew.
My former beliefs are now so untrue.
But, soon I accepted this new-found me,
like others amazed, as shown on TV,
surprised, but excited as I can be-
with a varied, colorful, mixed ancestry!

There is a war on earth against God
attacking the very corner stones within pillars of belief
Shepherd when the stars of doom eclipse red faced
cornered facts bleeding innocent the silent screams tremble
Unheard angels filtering through the moonlight
kneeling souls pray for His dire mercy
To make this world right again filled with peace
Condemn the guilty as wolves they are killing sheep
Ripping little ones to pieces sacrificed at the pagan temple
where the purity of love has been tarnished ugly by these loveless strays
Savages impotent against the powers of nature
prostrating the cringing submission of a slave
Begging blind articles of self praise enslaved ideas removing independence
from true facts not acknowledged for their value underneath respect
Despite its wanton infliction of pain apes amongst rats devouring
democratic views under heaven's command thou shalt not kill

Are ye, my lady, an apparition
or perchance a fair servant frail?
The ruddiness of pinks
touching neither your cheeks
as you wander about so pale
My lips turn blue from winter’s cold

What is on your mind today?
A war without repercussion
Or the History of creationism
A birth without the pain or vivid stories
A wedding without the bride or groom
A young life cut down to soon.
A presidential race without any lies
A casket without a cadaver
Facebook with friends or backstabbers?
Cancer treatment without radiation
Recession without a long bailout
or wearing high heel with toes out
A week without snow or rain
Birthday wishes without leaving messages
Being so darn broke,
you are so ashamed
Your limp wallet smoke
Buy one get the other free
What up with that deal
When a man is ready to be faithful
Is he ready to accept his failures?
Is our lives based on Bollywood referrals act.
Isn’t that the true facts?
Balanced through life's cup
our climate changes as war grips many poor souls
Caught victims in a maze poisoned by this pollution
Trillions dropped in bombs of grave suffering and devastation
the silent screams for justice that's never heard
Media no longer covers true facts bare to the bone
Holocaust where arms are supplied by powers at large
testimony witnesses living skeletons displayed
That would break your heart seeing such unbearable agony
Driven from their home lands by greedy tyrants
the greatest polluters of this world
Warmongers destroying cities and valuable relics
Amounts to the army of darkness never once showing
the olive branch of peace destroying seems to be all they live by
a sad story that is told over and over again
I find in a godless society
versed so to speak openly correct
truth always becomes the first casualty aborted
It comes under attack with twisted views
heartless beings cursing every good value upside down
whom use vulgar words in order to silence the true facts
Craving acceptance pride filled bullies
condemning souls through their wickedness of deeds
displayed boastfully ignorant goats
Taking away rights it is where it all begins displacing people
stripping us into the core of sanity where hope is lost virtues
focusing on those without sin making them feel dirty for having a choice
A communist state of affairs under lawless acts hide stupid apes
has now entered our modern day democracies underhanded failures
baffoons filled with corruptions sins rotten to the core exist
What has incurred you person, looking so poor?
In the world since you are an inborn partner,
The sharer of it as long as you live
What are wrongs with you or me or other?
That trouble you living freely with rights,
You are trying to conceal bearing alone
Though the world is full of men and women,
You are seen silent deprived, oppressed
Though the world bears unlimited love and wealth,
You want silent and self tragedy with your tribe
Though the world preserves all's every right,
But you failed
As I see your eyes filling a sea with tears
Your sky is cast with black clouds
Changing in a year round rainy season,
Your mind is out of the heart
Roaming in the vast desert, looking for water
What are the causes?

Put in power by a populist gang,
Property dealer of some renown
Rode with post-truth into town.
‘A living libel on mankind’,
On money likes to keep his mind,
Cabinet filled with billionaires
Huddled rich in hunt for chances
Use their office to make advances,
Increase billions by four or five,
To make them feel their still alive

O, Ye great bulletins of Bonaparté,
Paton’s D-Day address to the Armé,
Abe on « a nation born in liberté »,
Churchill to the House in 1940 !
And now D. Trump, 45th president,
Tweets on Twitter setting a precedent,
Policy thought conveyed with such thrift -
Surely a sign of a nation adrift.
But look on the bright side : what a relief !
When Trump talks at length, it’s my belief,
Anacoluthia attack him in shoals,
Grammar left full of great gaping holes,
Collapses in dire, illiterate heaps.
Something to be said for infantile tweets,
Though geo-strategy run off so quick
Speaks of a nation decidedly sick.
Trump’s got a thing ‘bout alternative facts,
Alternative lies masquerading as acts
He thinks are truer than truly true facts ;
So obsessed by media mendacity,
Loses track of simple veracity,
Disorder like this makes for confusion,
Trump KO’ed by semantic contusion,
Is he speaking the truth or spouting lies ?
Makes him a fool in everyman’s eyes.
