There is no more a thunderous voice than the whisper of love!

Unholy Thunderous Domination

Destroy thine own brother in abject apathy
taking up arms 'midst conquering expectancy,
invoking howls of contemptible thunder
neath skies' transparency beyond trepidation,
battles' plundering captures naught of stability
nor intervention from otherworldly gods
predisposed towards earthly universal unity,
persecuting soil's divinity neath aggregate exploits
incalculable hunger upon grounds' domination,
tears were purged in the name of unholy ascendancy
deliver us from susceptible evil men chanting war cries,
congregated in humanity's blood spoils on fire
hailing flared atomic detonations' nuclear nightmare
Trumped midst castle's undeniably delusional rhetoric

Ultimately ascertained, entities' faith shall resoundingly be diminished
casting down divine dispensation bestowed pon the wrath of mankind

Premium Member My Thunderous Wondrous Electric Toy Train

It was shiny and bright sitting under the tree.
There were other things there, but that's all I could see:
a Lionel toy train on a circular track!
The caboose was maroon and the engine was black.

And to top it all off on this fine Christmas day,
was an engineer's cap that I donned right away.
I had deadlines to make and my job couldn't shirk,
so I rolled up my sleeves, and went straight to my work.

Utilizing impressive construction techniques,
I made Tinker Toy tunnels through newspaper peaks.
With an engine, a caboose, and three railroad cars,
I would ride to the moon and haul back the stars!

It sputtered and sparkled and went round and around
with a clickety clackety sonorous sound,
and an oily ozony odoriferous tang:
my thunderous wondrous electric toy train!

And then Daddy and I had to go out for bread,
and to pick up the big Sunday paper he read.
We're just about home when there was flashing of red...
and the crossbars dipped down at the railroad ahead.

As the freight train slowed up, I could clearly divine
the big engineer's head with a cap just like mine!
We dismounted and yelled, and I signed him three yanks.
He gave me three toots - and I waved back my thanks.

With my engineer's cap and my blue overalls,
I was dressed in a style to give anyone pause!
I had grand places to go and marvels to see...
but Mommy had my breakfast all ready for me.

It sputtered and sparkled and went round and around
with a clickety clackety sonorous sound,
and an oily ozony odoriferous tang:
my thunderous wondrous electric toy train!

Thunderous Applause

A summer storm has struck upon the stage.
Like clouds, faces in the crowd change to black.
As lightning triggers sudden disengage,
tonight’s entertainment can stay on track.
The wit he’s stored within his mind’s spice rack
can use this summer rain in which to mull.
Dry humor, soaking wet, delivers smack
and thunderous applause says he’s not dull.
This stand-up comic entertains without a lull.

a Spencerian stanza

Premium Member Thunderous Applause

This site is da bomb, my haven so to speak

It's where I go to mellow out

Away from the ugly news of the day

That we constantly hear about

Without the Soup, my life would be boring

I'd walk around mumbling away

Oblivious to the big old world passing by

Whatta great way to start the day

So many great people call P-Soup their home

Scattered throughout this big planet

Personalities as varied as the fish in the ocean

So many, they run the damn gamut

From witty, to clever, intellectual to romantic

We all call it home sweet home

A retreat, a getaway from all of life's hassles

A place to let our true hearts roam

So let's hear some of that thunderous applause

For those who bring us the Soup

All of us would probably fade into oblivion

Instead, we're just happy as poop

Our Thunderous Silences

High school:
A cacophony of deafening personalities,
Everyone racing,
Competing,
Fighting for individuality
In the midst of a war
That cannot end.
If we had nothing to battle,
What would we do
With our emerging identities?
In a symphony of adolescent instrumentals,
I am the piano,
Dancing quietly below the louder instruments,
Just soft enough to remain underneath their notes
But important enough that without me
The entire piece would fall flat
And be reduced to nothing
But useless noise.
I must pay close attention
To every note I play;
One misstep and the piece comes crashing
Down around our sunburned ears.
No matter how cautious I am,
There will always be the one line
That my fingers stumble over:
I've learned to keep moving,
Keep playing,
And smile like I haven't royally screwed up.

A Thunderous Silence

Her memories had her waiting
for his oft' tardy appearance,
and in her patient time
perhaps wondering,
"Has he ever noticed the scar
below my kneecap?"
His litany of lateness'
was covered by a bond
of mutually assured affection.
She'd never hold him to a sundial.
And in those times together,
four eyes flickering
with a lingering seep of memory;
each owning a piece of time,
holding it to savor,
watching her, pleased more
by her company
than any assistance,
silence seemed to have been there,
waiting for them.
And in that moment's breathless anticipation
his realization was;
he'd wait an hour to watch her mouth,
the scintillating way words
unspooled from her lips.

A Thunderous Ovation

Heard upon the heavy, humid air,
	now unpleasantly warm,
came further reverberating rumbles,
	that proclaimed an approaching storm,
and we were made very much aware
	Nature’s ire was evident,
as with bolts of forked lightning,
	towering clouds were rent.

Seen in angriest dungeon,
	as befits a brooding sky;
and mesmerised by her fury,
we watched, as it drew ever nigh.
But once her awesome power,
	was unleashed upon the land,
our hypnotic trance was broken,
and we saw danger lurked to hand.

It was now the time to scatter;
to seek shelter where we could,
for thunderstorms can oft prove fatal,
if caught in open field or wood.
As we ran to seek our refuge:
	we’d little time to spare,
we hoped her fury was short lived,
	as lightning filled the air.

We knew we’d be acting foolish,
if the storm we’d think to brave,
so with safety our first concern,
twas our skin we sought to save.
Next calm air was pushed aside,
	cyclonic down bursts seen:
whilst trees bowed their obeisance,
	in the nearby wooded dene.

When overladen clouds then burst,
	in sheets of solid rain,
so the humid air dispersed,
and the world was fresh again.
Next, when thunder clouds split asunder,
to leave the world clean and bright,
we saw skies in all their grandeur,
	as shafts of golden light,

broke through the storm tossed clouds,
	now fragmented and torn,
and as the sun emerged again,
	 we saw a world reborn.
Though thunderstorms intimidate,
	such times we do adore,
for it is a time to savour:
	 despite our fear and awe.

Premium Member A Thunderous Message

Angry clouds were above
Displaying hatred not love
With an angry growl
Came a heavenly howl
There are energy impulses
Crackling lights dished out in doses
Joined the powerful teaming downpour
Angels sending a message about this star gazing tour
Two men scheduled to be shot in the air
No return date set for the galactic dare
It took a little time
But the sun came out to shine
A natural cosmic luring test
Challenging earthlings wanted to leave their nest
Launch countdown never stopped
Plan continued from the pad lot
After placing the pair in seated positions
Patiently waiting for the ‘go’ decision
Commanding lift starting the space station mission
Clock under twenty
Big business experimenting investing their money
Word came to abort
Due to the weather who was the true judicial court
Safety concerns were the reasons
Canceling the spectacle during Florida’s rainy season
Temporary relieving the responsibilities for the dragon crew
Delaying a dream ready to come true
Mother Nature commanding man to be told
“This adventurous travel must be put on hold!
Until a new window open soon
And then it can resume
A space junket to the resort orbiting the moon”
Man penciled in a date
Saturday afternoon sounds great
Still the meteorology influence will have the final say
About sending this peaceful rocket on its way

The Thunderous Ploy of the Heart

Brave and courageous they know the power of love
Hearts that bleed
Live by the creed of love
Giving their all
Knowing that love is like a tidal wave!

Shadows of comfort sprinkle the faces of those in love
Blades of power hold their mouth
Words of silence can’t escape
The thunderous ploy of the heart!

Love is a courageous journey
It starts at forever and ends at never!
Hearts that bleed are hearts that feed off the weight of love
The sudden shift of emotion illuminates the darkness
The singleness of a passion electrifies the soul
But the cold shift of isolation keeps the mission alive!

The heart bleeds
Feeding off every abnormality and
Revealing the centrality of all hidden thoughts!

Love is a comfort worth exploring
Love is an oddity worth refining
Hearts that bleed are hearts that feed off the weight of love
The sudden shift of emotion clarifies the darkness
The oneness of a passion electrifies the soul
But the cold shift of isolation keeps the mission alive!

Hearts that bleed
Live by the creed of love
Giving their all
Knowing that love is like a tidal wave

Substandard Life Under a Thunderous Cloud

Hell has opened its mouth and spit forth Apollyon.
A brutal beast wrapped in a cloak of deceit.
A grandiose idealist with evil intention.
A reaper of racism.
A shameless rapist of intellectually rigid minds.
An artful ruler of schism.
He lives out loud in his want for a reign of vicious fascism.
Overshadowing the union of a pleading Nation.
The world is ablaze with fear of his reigning anarchy.
There are dawdling tongues and lament songs for abdication.
The faithful lift their faces to heaven and pray for intervention.
The liberals protest against social and economical injustice.
A group of withering supplication to the heartless.
His world is anchored on filth and ruthlessness.
Like many, I live my substandard life under a thunderous cloud.
Stiff back, head high, strong resistant, and proud.

Premium Member Thunderous Silence

Ebony and ivory soldiers
stand sentinel on checkered plains,
their shadows stretching across the polished wood.

The mind becomes a blade,
thoughts crystallise
in the space between heartbeats.

Each move echoes
like thunder in an empty room,
while fingertips hover over destiny's pieces.

Time dissolves
In the crucible of concentration,
where seconds stretch into infinities.

Silence roars louder,
than any crowd in this arena of intellect,
as kingdoms rise and fall beneath fluorescent stars.

Victory dwells
in the eye of stillness,
where warriors of thought wage their bloodless wars.
