Test of Time

Secrets blowing in the wind

Another gift, another lift

Words whispered from the soul

Echoing in the chamber of my heart

Looking ahead to the dreams we'll have

It's what we believe in

No turning back

Chosen ----- Frozen

Lost in love

Lost in life

Wiping away all the tears

Soothing all our fears

Together our friendship

will survive the test of time

Spelling Test

SPELLING TEST (there are over 30 words contained within this poem that are often
misspelt by the common man)

We all do on occasion temporarily misspell.
Amateur or connoisseur of language, who can tell?
Conscientiously piece together, peculiar bits of rhyme.
Manoeuvre letters gorgeously for others to refine.

Discipline and experience, all apparent to you and me.
Pronunciation not enough to spell linguistically.
Skilful realignment of the letters needs addressed.
Paralytic implications quintessentially expressed.

A ricochet of rhythm, sabotaged in a queue of verse.
Cacophony of tone with their spellings unrehearsed.
Is your spelling kamikaze,a haemorrhaging of ink.
A karaoke nightmare, communication on the brink.

So literary geniuses,i am all apologetic.
If my utterance is rabbled and my spelling is pathetic.
You see, many words i utilize in this poem i create.
Have been misspelt for centuries, the most common is
separate

Kite Flying - Test

Kiss me, I want to lift you skirt flying
Inside my heart like the wind
To dance on clouds of joy my kite
Embracing time, to hold you in my arms and spin

Festively playing in the clouds
Long lines of passion I can feel
Yearning against my string
Intermittingly fawning as you bow
Naked to the throb of wind
Garrulous like a lover moaninng

The scintillated light.
Etched upon the sweat shining
Silver shafts of ribs
Tensed in every fibre and nerve of being
               ...
I want to press my lips
Upon your cheeks, prettier than confetti paper
And let the golden sunlight drips
Chocolate of satisfaction on my tongue
Because I made a kite like this

Then to breathe your fragrance
Falling free
From every jasmine of your limb
Where the lissome bamboos hold firm
The quivering of my string

And when the wind exhausted
Make you loop and dip
Before suppliant eyes
To cash that boyhood zeal again
And run until you rise

Or shortening your leash
Bring you in
To closer dazzle my eyes
And let your string between my fingers fall
A ravished and splendid bride

I want to make you feel secure again
Your flying strained against my faith
Buoyed by the comfort of my love
For you the only joy that fills my eye
In the huff and blow of time

I want to lift you like the wind
And with you all my affections fly
To shout in glee from my little hill
Below unlettered clouds in pride
My kite alone to fly.

PUT TO THE TEST

Planet earth has been put to the test,
Everyone we hope is doing their best,
Unavoidable to sometimes feel depressed,
No family member for tea or a friend or guest.

My hands I am sure have become bleached,
Police and army around, law not to be breached,
Spanish flu took 3 years for safety to be reached
Sadly, folk from what I hear, will become unhinged!

Three weeks at home with your near and dear,
But family not living with us cannot come near,
For this Covid 19 virus is one that we all fear,
Eat well, be strong, talk on phone, and STEER CLEAR!

Grocery stores and pharmacies open, at your service,
Go, Wear your mask and gloves, don’t be nervous,
Keep your distance or you will do yourself a disservice,
All this virus needs to collide with you, is a tiny crevice!

But we must have faith and believe that we will make it,
Don't we all have in our homes a basic medical kit,
We should pray with all of our strength and being, don’t quit
Stay indoors mostly, so you don’t get the virus or transmit,

God bless each and every human on Planet Earth
From Moscow right around the world to Perth,
Think of the number infected along its length and girth,
Won’t always be somber, someday maybe, will experience mirth!

Let us now think of the thousands that have died,
And honor them and their families with a fearsome pride,
By adding the growing number to our prayers every night,
And by being humble, human, always doing what is right!

Premium Member The Absentee Student Takes His Test

He’s never heard one lesson of this class,
but has to get a grade in history.
So he’s shown up at last, sure he will pass
the test that prior students say is easy!

He feels no need to read the test’s directions.
It uses letter symbols; he can tell
he only needs to trust his recollections
about the fifty states. He should do well!

He feels assured that Md has to be
for Maryland, and Missouri is Mo.
It’s very clear Nebraska is Ne.
But why No? Everyone should know that NO means NO!

Ca, Pa, In; a piece of cake!
Then he sees a few that are an utter
puzzlement or just a huge mistake!
Pb, he’s sure, is only peanut butter!

Sg might be Singapore, or else Saigon.
But how are those in U.S. History?
Fr for France? Just what is going on?
The cocky guy is feeling kind of queasy.

At last he thinks to go back to the start
and read the test’s instructions. . . O M G!
The test was on the periodic chart
of elements! Wrong class. It’s Chemistry!!!

Note:
*The correct answers of the test were really
Md for Mendelevium, Mo for Molybdenum,
Ne for Neon, No for Nobelium, Ca for Calcium,
Pa for Protactinium, In for Indium, pb for Lead,
Sg for Seaborgium and Fr for Francium (he was close on that one!)

As for me, I would stay in the history class!!!

Iq Test

I could care less about the four
corners of insults,
That intelligence invites;
It is always the first straw of
grass that’s grows,
which reveals the popular outcast;
As a youth, I found my image cut down
into this manufactured silhouette.

Drenched in social rain, my peers
had never found me more alienated,
Then when I spoke fluently of diverse
topics;
They did everything in their power to provide
a verbal umbrella,
However, the texture remains weak and
defeated.

This stormy parade that remains’ dripping is
indeed an afterthought,
For within this cranial mansion resides
additional rooms,
For the more abstract and surreal
elements of life;
It is that secluded gland which reveals
the renaissance of men, who wear
infinite Fedoras.

Now wearing the shoes of a young
man,
A taste of charisma resides in my
veins;
However this slight addiction to external
haze,
Comes in second to my first drug of
choice: Wisdom.

Membership into this fraternity may take a lifetime;
So don’t be surprised when resistance
knocks at your door,
Intimidated by the lion that dwells within
your temple;
Indeed intellect is the misunderstood
fruit,
That blossoms sweeter when accepted.

A terrible storm in wait
Caught by a laughing flood

While his beard grows
Several laborious hours

For the animals a floating rescue
A journey to a new adventure

Take your time
Time measured, analyzed and split

Premium Member Second Chance - Driving Test

My driving I thought was sublime
But I failed my test the first time
Staring down at the wheel
It was hard to conceal
That failure to me was a crime

So I applied to take another test
Very determined I would try my best
I answered every question
And I drove to perfection
The examiner was very impressed!

Premium Member Assembly Programming Test

I whizzed past the assembler, add
count in octal, subtract
hexadecimal. Found error
in the dump file, all zeroes
and wondered, is this an omen?

Surprise! write me an algorithm
for a full third of test score.
Sort all data in a file
swap and exchange,
compare and relate.

Loop through the right number
and oh, woe for me, I get a C plus.
The highest in the class,
all doomed to retake the section
except me, who passes.

But the A and B slip away
because I never set my counters,
important counters full of junk
all back to zero. Zero the clean
state of all beginnings.

Programmers learn by trial
and error, one pass,
one dump and oh, yeah,
zero out the counters
Or face certain demise.

The Love Shock Test

why seek true love
when even the truest love is fleeting
the thing you should desire is
for lasting love to transpire
take my hand and hold your breath
this is a love test
do you have a single doubt
about how it will turn out
are you afraid they will leave
and how you could possibly grieve
worry no more the stress will disappear
and just send this to your sweet dear
because it's over they never really let you near
it is fact they are being clear they don't want you here
take your love and disappear don't live in fear

TEST MY SPIRIT

I hate a promise never kept
A word that's made, then broken
A handshake that is offered up
As merely just a token
I despise a person who
Is void of common grace
Who gives a gift, with intent
To throw it in my face
One who thinks they’re better
Superior to the rest
Then falls apart when circumstances
Puts them to the test
The one who's never wrong
But never gets it right
One who runs and hides
When, there's a righteous fight
The one that puts you down
When it's you who’s really trying
The same that sits and laughs
When you’re on you knees and crying

I enjoyed wrapping my mind around his words
Stretching my thinking
At times coming unglued
Reaching towards oblivion
While keeping my feet in multiple worlds
Standing on sinking ground
While leaning on granites precious solidity

The substance of imaginations inconsistencies
Tugging on the heart strings of a well played heart
Wondering along the pathway of dreams long held at arms length
Hoping to understand
Taking that backward look while moving forward and upward

Words are his gift
Dropped like psychedelic bombs
Ripping at the fabric of convention
Pain wrapped in sheepskin
Joy pushed through pencils point
Leaving me in awe
Dancing and stretching along
Bouncing against his liquid walls
Till I come out the other side
Understanding
Landing
Blessed
More than I was before
Yet part of myself
Stays behind
Trying to catch my breath

Passing the Test

Feeling the pain as the solstice is waning
Counting the days till the end brings me home
Keeping a smile through the mess I am wading
Wondering why I am here all alone

Lost in a dreamscape of past tense distractions
Spent too much time with my foot on the floor
Watching the clock seems my new fascination
Boy is it slow, so much now than before

Can’t wait that long behind rush hour traffic
Winter is near and it’s colder than hell
What can I do if my heart isn’t in it
Who out there cares if I’ve something to tell

Taking each step with my eyes facing forward
Still indecision becomes my new friend
Where would I be if I traveled this distance
Without direction and no place to end

Oh well, it seems that the road I am walking
Will lead me back to the place I can rest
If I pursue what my life has been missing
All at the same time while passing the test
