Best Suspenseful Poems
predictable pairing
like plans and lovers
two sparrows fly, flirt
wing beats hyped
to dull the scent of overcrowded news
in spring air, grinning
scrappy species
two birds that pitch and swoop
an operatic flow
their sheen of relatability
braided together
a courtship gallantry
in circled bolts
when two birds fly about you
suspenseful joy
like an untroubled sigh
re-directing thought
seasonal movement
a flight of promise
that opens to the sky
I dreamt that you were there,
In a haze, I could see your familiar face
The sun providing a spotlight for our awe-drenched moment
As I drew near,
Your features became more and more clear
You were smiling from ear to ear,
Like an angel fragrant and bright,
My soul beamed like an on-switched light
And we were so close to bonding edges
So close to each other’s face
I was captive in your touch
And yet I felt fully free
I saw your alighted lips
Curved, smooth and pining
As if they had waited for the moment I would find them
And how they trembled with joy and longing
As they took their inevitable, suspenseful plunge
Two lips leaped and landed like panthers on the prowl,
Magnetic, crazed and ruthless
Made for this moment
I cannot fathom the strength I received,
Kissing those celestial lips…
He was drinking in all of my sorrows
In the sacred force of our impact
I felt his struggles he bore,
Ball and chain-
Though I did not feel burden or pain
I felt his purpose in his moist embrace
The cuddle of dew and rosebud,
The glow of this thumping heart
I felt him release the reigns of life’s blisters
For the conjoining of our truth
In the kiss of wholesome bliss,
He wrapped his arms around me,
Tremulous and tight
Caressing and knowing every spot needing light
Eternal moments passing in our sweet blend,
Tenderly, his voice,
With comfort and assurance,
Knighted by cream-lit clouds
His voice, a deep bell scooping water from a wishing well
Pertinently held my ear in trance:
“This is the part where we never let go…”
. . .
When I woke from the dream,
I realized we were embracing always,
Since the day of our union
My eyes became wise,
And I knew that I never let go of him
Not once, not ever...
An unusual pair, yes,
Like vines to a gargoyle
Though eternal too
For the gargoyle’s eyes never blink
For fear of missing the most
Her cold-stoned exterior senses the vine’s bold hold
Feeling and bearing his thorns forever…
Clad in the ornaments of each other
Warmed and invigorated by the sun
Twilight has come casting a beautiful flicker upon my silver knife
who has taste the women who gave a price and in the end their life
Some were quick because I tend to bore and some took days upon my board
as my mind remembers and bask back in time of the wonderful gore
The steps I climb to your lonely room while the candles give off the scent of honey dew
'My Sweet Devine' it is now time as the clock sings it's suspenseful chime
Your door I open and with grace I stride to your bedside to look upon my bride
'Oh my Sweet Devine' I love the fear as you cringe and try to hid
With a quick cut I make upon your thigh thou not to deep just enough to make you weep
only you don't make a peep just gasp from your breath giving a long sigh I can tell
you wish to defy
I wish to hear you speak and cry out for my pride
but you glance upon my face with a look of disgrace and in a soft whisper
you state,
'My Sweet Devine will you be mine you ask? The answer is no but untie my hands
and I will make you mine for I to have a great show and plenty of time.
Do you feel me? Do you want more?

SOFT SENSUALITY
While the waiting is nearing
The longing doubly suspenseful
Mechanically or tender make it eager of welcome
Perhaps hugging and kissing
Will never dampen homesickness
Everything in the “kubo” is envious
Every minute a comfort and intimate
Even crickets stop cricketing
And eking doors shut up and posts oiled
All holes on the walls will have their heydays peeping
Can we stop the nectar oozing down?
Surely a very hearty and glorious days and nights
Like in a store the customer keeps coming back
The delights will never end
Soft and hard are both sensual
Whether the night is romantic
Will both of us irresistible
Especially with naked truth
And never bow out to heavens.
Term: Kubo(Filipino word) means cottage in this poem.

FLOODING EMERGENCY IN HOUSTON. HURRICANE HARVEY dumping 25 inches rain on Houston and other cities like Rockport, Corpus Christi, Victoria and HARVEY won't leave till Thursday, so storms not over. NEWS NOW shows people stranded, highway is flooded and motorists are stuck. Live video shows many cars under water and motorists walking knee-deep in water on highway. STUCK STUCK STUCK. People out wading in water and CAN'T go forward and can't back up. Power lines down, buildings, homes churches blown apart and electricity off; people in the dark. Hundreds of people bundled together in shelters.
NEWS said many people have climbed onto their roofs because their homes are under water with living area insided house flooded like victims did in New Orleans in Katrina Hurricane. Looks like Katrina all over again, and looks like Hurricane Harvey skipped Louisiana and East coast this time and struck TEXAS.
Roads, streets, highways turned into rivers and we see women, men and children being rescued in boats pulled toward safety by rescuers with water up to their chests. Helicopters flying around trying to lift people to safety, if they can reach individuals without rescuers placing their lives in danger. People need to watch out for snakes that swim in water, and possibly, alligators and other animals.
READ how to survive Mother Nature disasters like thunder lightening storms, earthquakes, horrific hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. NEWS says "Turn around don't drown." BUY NOW life-saving tips are suspenseful, and shocking! WHAT A MESS.
This means people can't go to work, schools, churches, stores or their homes for, perhaps weeks; therefore, will lose income. Many homeowners don't have home and flood insurance and have lost their home being torn up, their pets, and everything they own in this world!

Suspenseful, sweet air
of my lordly cathedral...
hum my faithfulness.
the mystery of the girl and monsters
in the fog, lost, precarious knocking,
lighthouses, antique dresses,
the back and forth of my imagination.
at sea - the deep, dark movement
of unseen waves, unremembered
dendrites firing at each suspenseful turn.
the real storm, unrelenting all-night-feast
of thunder cracks and lightning bolts -
has Frankenstein’s monster come alive?
the scary knock at the door - don’t answer it!
we laugh so hard, how imaginings and story
support our fear. likewise, the top of the hill -
are you kidding it’s dark? one must
not venture where one might spy a host
of trouble; but the girl you’d follow
in the drizzly mist, to the fashionable past -
inviting, suspiciously exciting, an escape.
with monsters, well…watch out for the tale -
a little-red-riding-hood-precautionary blow.

A mystery
is an enigmatically suspenseful adventure
where darkness holds answers
but can only be obtained
if the detective wears courage
I see a shiny castle
On a high mountain top
Surrounded by a starry hassle
Of bright dancing stars
With moon hanging on its pillars
In the bed of puffy clouds
I see the candle light
Shining through narrow windows
Of the top floor arched pillars
My heart fills with unbearable
Longing and desire to touch
The light with my fingertips
I know I have to reach it
In the darkness of the night
I start my pilgrimage
That lasts years of despair
Being lost and scared
Taking risky paths that lead
To the darkness and demise
I panick and gave up many times
After thousands of sleepless nights
I float in the vacuum of despair
And I am losing my affair
With the shiny alluring light
But in the depth of starry night
I see the omen of hope and delight
I see the lights of castle’s
Narrow windows every night
In dreams of deep insomniac daze
I see my hands reaching the light
In one passionate flight
But it seems the castle evades
My desperate attempts
And flies deep in to the
Darkness of the abyss
After all those years
Of exhausting search
I am hopelessly lost
Sinking into dark cold empty
Nothingness I give up my
Precious task once again
I spend eternity in suspenseful
Numbness till one day
After light years away
Suddenly I see the magical
Light flickering again
Much closer than ever
In front of my eyes
I reach my arms cautiously
But the light doesn’t shy away
For the first time I try once again
Almost touching its fiery edge
In one leap of despair
Hanging up in the air
Suddenly I see a bottomless abyss
That separates me from the castle
After so many years of attempts
I am no longer afraid or tense
I take a deep breath and descend
in to the pit of running waters
Into the coldness of unknown
Unrecognizable scary world
That I never encountered before
Emptiness surrounds me
After all those years of being lost
I no longer struggle I must
Descend into the running waters
And float into the infinity
But once again suddenly
I feel solid ground under my feet
And like a bird in one leap
I fly to the mountain
Till its shiny top
With the wind behind my back
Where the gates of the castle
Are invitingly open
And I step in to the
Magical light
That I was chasing all those
Long years of
Being lost
In darkness

A car ride to me is pulling out from my previous location and driving to an unknown destination
Leaving wherever I'm going completely up to chance and imagination
It's moving between the speeds of 40 and 60 to keep things safe
But only around the village block because it's late
As a short escape from the thirty-plus-degree-heat of the day.
A car ride to me is cancelling out the sound of everyone and everything
As the radio plays an early 2000s song that I am somehow still able to sing from memory
It's remembering other moments on the road
Recalling old stories once told
And winding down the windows to feel the air turn cold.
A car ride to me is navigating through life with a limited amount of time
Making split decisions of whether I should turn left or right
It's seeing other cars next to mine
And wondering if the people in them are fine
Or if like me they are still waiting for a suspenseful green light.
A car ride to me is my mother's specialty since she has given more than she takes
I will one day return the favour as I am still learning to lift my foot off the break
It's overcoming that which one fears
And embracing the struggles that are near
While driving through the breeze that manages to brush away each tear.
A car ride to me is a world of it's own shown only to those who are willing to go
Beyond the confines of the one we behold
It's waiting for reality to eventually come for me
As the fuel gauge needle slowly slides to “E”
But during the minutes before that I am free.
The fog comes rolling in
To the added horror of it
My situation with my car
Being broke down and all
And stuck on the side of
An abandoned road
Nobody has driven by
It’s been eerily quiet
It’s nearing dark now
I’m lost at what to do
Just then a van comes
And actually stops here
I noticed they are young women
Yes, they are all young
And to top it all off
They are all cheerleaders
Crazy luck, they are of no
Use to me in my predicament
I couldn’t fit in their van
I don’t know the extent
Of their potential help
I told the driver that when
They find civilization to call
For help for me
But I believe she forgot
As soon as they left me
I looked around me
It’s now dark outside
The fog is still present
It’s difficult to see
What shall I do now
I decide to brave the forest
I walk for what seems
Like hours on end
Looking for any people
Just then there was a glimmer
A sparkle in the distance
I catch up to the place
Where it came from
It was an old automobile
In someone’s old yard
The house had a lone light
Through a battered window
I look for the door
Just then I hear the siren
Of a police car nearby
I run to catch him
To finally get out of here
To leave this nightmare
I reach my car finally
The police were still there
He asks if this is my car
I tell him yes it is
And let him know I need help
As I have broken down
Here on the side of the road
He smiles and nods
Tells me it happens a lot
Right there at this spot
He hands me a paper
And tells me help’s on the way
I smile and wave
As he drives off I notice
The paper that he gave me
Was a ticket
A dang blasted ticket!

Miss Jessica Finch, the avian sleuth
Was scratching out novels and sipping vermouth.
She lived a charmed life when she was quite young;
Her first book, “The Voyeur: Peeking Duck Hung”.
“Peacocked and Loaded,” no rivals, unequalled.
“All Bluster, No Muster, “ a fan-favored sequel.
“Migratory Murmurations of a Wandering Heart”
And “Starling, My Darling,” her cross-over art.
“Covey of darkness: the Unpheasant Truth”
Shines light in glass houses, unkempt and uncouth.
The one she’s best known for, that everyone one knows
That suspenseful thriller, “A Murder of Crows.”
But the one she loves best, that still gives her pause,
The brilliant court drama, “Probable Caws.”

"recently scenes of early life have stolen into my mind, like breezes blown ..." Quote by _Samuel Taylor Coleridge (from his writings)
There’s a magical cemetery north of here they say,
It’s a pleasant place to visit during the day.
Be sure the gate is unlocked if you plan to stay,
some just go for a thrill!
Visiting the dead is not the only reason to go.
A paranormal natural illusion awaits, a creep show.
A strange, haunting experience is all we know.
We need to listen, be still.
Pitch black at night, a warning if you easily scare.
Running out on a grave gets you points, it’s a dare,
I heard it in school, they do it bare but it’s rare,
and against our will.
On a lonely stretch of road, objects, gravity defies.
When you get to the spot, your vehicle flies.
And all must be quiet to hear the spirits cries,
or see feathers of a quill.
Santeria is noted when feathers have been gifted.
In space, the car, with all of us in it, will be lifted.
This is a story ‘bout the Halloween night we drifted,
through Gravity Hill.
An old Chevy Impala is what we teens packed into.
Fright stories were told along the way, some true!
Hair stood on arms, Bloody Mary, was one of the few.
It gave us such a chill.
One girl shouted; I looked in the rear-view mirror!
I saw her ghost! And so, it couldn’t be any clearer,
We were close, suspenseful of what grew nearer.
Then sounds of a French trille.
Natural illusion’s tricking everyone, in a mystery spot,
With no view of the horizon line, and near a dark lot,
The driver put the gear in neutral like he was taught,
as if by magic, began rolling uphill.
A slight downhill slope appears to be going up slope.
Then somebody asked, did anyone hear that? Nope.
A cayote ran across the road, had hoofs like an antelope,
with a wide grin and grill.
A layout of the land produces an optical illusion,
What you see is what you get, my conclusion,
Let ghosts lie, for it is us who are the intrusion.
Memories non-fiction, no frill!

"Grabbing ahold of my feelings with outstretched arms
Clutching it with my fists and throwing them in a cage
Locking away the poison eating me from the inside
Ropes that pulled around my neck the stronger the belief
Just an inch closer would've strangled me from no air
Hopes of ever letting them free would blind my eyes
Too bright to light up a room or be maintained
Shadowless environments exist only in books,
Our story ending covered in shadows, darkness everywhere
Expectations of our future began to go off script
Elegant furniture decomposed to burnt food,
Photographs of laughing faces started rotting
Giving my heart a pair of soldiers with guns in hand
Keeping watching of all suspenseful actions trying to break in
Holding a password, waiting for cues to let people in
Guarding my heart from every word, and every touch
Never to be infected again with that kind of poison"
