Premium Member Morning Light

O the warmth and the depth of the sun, o’er us,
for the yellows and reds, as they throw their shine
on the maples and oaks and the pines, caress
of the pale and ebon - all the blossoms stress.

And the flit of the robins, and rest on boughs,
as they lift up our spirits in singsong light.
We’ve a glimpse of once-paradise-sourced delight.
The long rays of God’s arms - they lean down to rouse.

Each new day, flows our way, and it fits like glove,
and we stretch out our arms like a child, and smile,
as we’re wrapped in the Dayspring’s colors and style.
All our senses awake, as God pours out love.

All one will ever need is you everlasting loyalty
where a thousand teardrops are sourced
glistening gems from the fountain they shall fall
with the grace adorned beauty held within

That of a single tune striking cords deeply
Kissed by the oceans is the salt contained
In wild seas it's there phantoms of the past nightshades
driven by ghosts is the tides turning current

Crashing waves hurled by the breath exhaled
tempest of the storm you carry away footprints
where all that remains is the shell of your being
bleached through the sands of time

Premium Member The Scum of the Earth

There’s a sense in which all life is scum on this earth
(without God as creator), life here (more debris
that just floats on the surface of things, that evolves
to fill niches that former life spawns) has no worth
in itself, demonstrates all life does is make space
for more scum, that will live on life’s poop, or it’s flesh.

And if God does exist, might this God view with mirth,
not the flora, but fauna (that fled from the sea
to escape what would eat it) could think World revolves
for its pleasure! Dare parasites dream that their birth
is a proof of God’s LOVE, virtue, intellect’s, ‘ace
in the hole’ for our kind; hint we’ve souls God should thresh?

Does my life have more value if I have a soul
or does fantasy telegraph who has control?
To choose God makes things’ better?’ Is what I ‘think’ JUST?
If God’s real or God’s missing, what grownup owns trust?

Just how long is one day in the life of a God
for creation took billions of years, should we pray?
Is our Bible infallible, final, ordained
‘truth of God’ or a primer for 1st graders, ark
for man’s soul, meant to save us from ‘downpour of pride?’
We grow trees meant to float us, or harvest what’s there?

Do you lie to your kids when they voice, “It’s so odd,
Why’s sky colored, not black?” Are you filled with dismay
to say, “It’s not my choice, but the color’s constrained,
to be just what it is by creation’s real SPARK!”
The truth’s Science, not faith, or stained truth’s override!
Oh, the mind of a man is a tawdry affair!

Is Spark SPARK? Can we know? Still, faith calls SPARK, “I AM!”
There’s no epigram spoken more valid, less sham!
Truth is God could be ‘real.’ Safe bet universe ‘is’
and reflects God’s true nature (if God sourced ‘Whole Biz’)!

Premium Member We'Re Going On a Haggis Hunt

I am a Burn’s Night baby
(named after the Ayrshire bard)
So we’re off to hunt a haggis
locating one is extremely hard

We scour the hills of Scotland
and have dull and rainy weather
There’s not a haggis to be seen …
they’re all hiding in the heather!

All of a sudden we spot a rare haggis
So hubby fires his gun into the gorse
The haggis scurries into the undergrowth
Hubby missed the wee beastie of course!

We spend hours out there on the hills
All the little haggis are all lying low
I scour the land with my binoculars
But not a hair of one is on show

The sky is getting really dark
we are tired and soaked to the skin
so we descend the slopes to the village
we see a butchers, and swiftly walk in

Hundreds of haggis are on display
With gaping mouth I stare in surprise
Their orange hair is so beautiful
I cannot believe my own eyes

I tell him we’ve been on a haggis hunt
And he glowers at me in shock and alarm
says the one’s on the hills are protected
He gets his stock from a breeding farm

I choose a wee haggis from the shop
When it’s baked we both have a slice
Haggis is a Scottish delicacy
I’ve got to say it tastes 'offally'* nice!

* Haggis, the national dish of Scotland, composed of the liver, heart, and lungs of a sheep minced and mixed with beef or mutton suet and oatmeal and seasoned with onion, cayenne pepper, and other spices. The mixture is packed into a sheep's stomach and boiled. Information sourced from google.

Premium Member The Apple of My Eye

The apple of my eye is a one for
An Amazon of an all in one
Being sourced from the Almighty’s Blessings
A paradox in discovery by Spiritual vision
Unsearchable among the highs and lows
As more precious than earthly
A glorious heritage with more respect for the reward
You are the Apple of my eye
I can never let you go away
Even when you are far away
From my heart you never go away
When our story will be told
Anthony and Cleopatra shall be kindergarten’s tale
My heart billows of love
Continuously being expressed
My deep affection for you
Resounds over a thousand hills
The more at your being I gaze
The more your fondness I develop
My love for you is mountaineering
Above the mountains resonating
You are my apple of ardor
I have crossed the Rubicon to love
Your tenderness as the gentle breeze
Blowing over the Mediterranean Sea
When I remember we are flesh
As a wisp of smoke
As roses wither in the garden
I must seize the precious moments
Of your exquisite love
Pure and so true
Undefiled so Divine
To carry you in my heart.

Premium Member Two Poets Arguing

"Must you always rhyme?",said he.
"Must you be a show-off?",said she.

"Each comment a grand show of your jocularity,"she huffed.
"Ah, you are just so jealous,"he puffed

"Not really,"said she' with serenity.
"I just know you are capable of sonnetry."

"But instead,lazily you pen footies,"

Poets Are My People

Poets:
My folks
You lend me
Many lyrics
Sourced from life’s lore,
You sing a sweet song
Reflecting the tales of throng
I must listen to your rhymes
Like the sparrows singing in the skies
You sooth my humble heart both day and night

Premium Member In Nodding

though rather late, I woke up
i might have thought I wasted time in nodding
but what a wonderful dream I had

the hoary woods crew
danced on my eyelids
sourced balsam scent and poppies
the floaters
fresh and cruel motivators

i limp along, with a beard so long, and cane
my knee’s bent, my pace slowing
but shadow’s spreading
as I part my lips, dandelion seeds sail
through gentle
waves of wind toward
generation gaps
the stories

i will tell of flagons, empty dragon’s breath
joy of open eyes
how sunlight revives the tenderness of life
implement the words of Solomon the wise

                            ***

                ~What does that mean?~

It means a life where your soul sparkles, and in serenity gleams.
Where the sounds of nature are your food.
You are not focused on problems in the world neighborhood!

You water your soul and soothe it.
Never dwelling on the negative to ruin it.

Where only great poetry do you read.
To negativity, you know better than paying it, a hint of heed.

All those ghastly thoughts of fear and trepidation.
Are sourced by Satan, I forgot to mention.

You create your life by your own original, design!
You are not a victim of life, you are both fine and divine.

Oh, silly this poem is you say? (I say not.)
Be the most humble hero or heroine of your day!

Premium Member Depth of Love

Light travels at a constant speed

though bent, attracted and absorbed –

is love so different from its beaming
physical counterpart, dear wave
that truly recalls a soul's worth of gleam

the only ethereal that lingers
within and beyond~sensing even greater
paths of flight yet to be sourced unimaginable

for what is truly remembered of a valued
life

outside the breath of a candle
never extinguished for sacredly
carried

like the sentiment of a stone
at a grave-site

where two often lie

when the one departed....

Plastic Pollution - a Rhyming Wave Poem

Plastics, yes, a bane on all life,
A bane on, bane on, bane on life!
All our pollution causing strife!
All our world, in peril!

All our denials, will it kill?
So will it, will it, will it kill?
It does and who pays? Pays the bill?
Nature, its hands forced!

Nature, seasons gone, all done, sourced!
Yes all done, all done, all done, sourced!
We are too late it's now divorced!
Why do we still use it?

Plastics, yes, a bane on all life,
Why do we still use it?

Premium Member Greedy Poaching

GREEDY POACHING

Rhino poachers often hunt at night
When the Rhino has poor eye sight.
These prehistoric creatures
Cannot distinguish human features.
But with a well-developed sense of smell
Fortunately they can always tell
When danger or a poacher is close,
Thanks to their sensitive nose.
Every horn that they take back,
And Rhino body that they hack,
Is yet more money in their belt,
To which no sentiment is felt.
Subsistence Poachers who randomly
Kill, fit a less important role,
Their profit cannot compare,
To syndicates with international flair!
These professionals are sourced
From a military career,
Using weapons and tactics that
Inflict unimaginable pain and fear.
Rhinos are darted from the air,
Without hesitation or human care.
Some Rhinos are found still half alive,
And veterinary surgeons rush to help
Them survive,
But could these same people perhaps
Be involved and accept,
These horrific acts, could they in fact,
Be suspect?
Will Rhinos become extinct,
This is a worrying fear,
Statistics do indicate that this scenario,
Is realistically near!

A Tangled Web of Lies

O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive!
Can't help but to recall this famous quote from Sir Walter Scott...
When one reads the latest revelations on the financial scandal that is 1MDB...
Touted as a sovereign fund to help the economy of the Malaysian Nation...
What has been revealed so far is a tangled web of deception for the nation...

O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive!
At the onset of of the saga of 1MDB, it was a sovereign fund entity....
It sourced for billions and billions in cash money for seed capital initially....
Taking out monstrous loans using guarantees from the government...
No red flags were raised, despite reservations from the management...
When the numero uno signatory is the Finance Minister himself...
And it being so he is also the Prime Minister, who is to question...

O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive!
The wheels of international justice are turning, investigations are revealing..
Convoluted money trails of obscenely huge amounts to the tune of billions..
From Singapore to Switzerland to Luxemburg to Australia to the United States..
And a couple of other countries with highly principled banking standards...
Are seeking to unravel the this global money scandal with the highest stakes..
Wall Street Journal expose is churning out scandalous information of the investigations..
While in the home country of Malaysia, political warlords brush off all revelations..

O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive!
A single plea of innocence was well propped up with tales of donation...
As gifted from individual or individuals, ultimately from a dead Arabian King..
Stalwart political warlords were nevertheless resolute in defending...
As a much tainted political leader wisely maintains a eloquent silence...
Even as political foes and the knowing public cry out their frustrations...
Horrified and anxious over the repercussions from this 1MDB financial cancer..

O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive!

Premium Member A Black Diamond

When you promised me a black diamond
My thoughts began to linger
With dreams of a sparkling gem upon my finger

I put on my pretty frock and awaited your arrival
But when I saw you standing at my door
My smile faded - my jaw almost hit the floor

I wasn’t presented with a ring in a box
But a black diamond watermelon* – you sly old fox!!!
Not quite the gift I was anticipating ...
Now we're off to the shops to choose my engagement ring!

*Black Diamond is a classic oblong watermelon with a black-green rind covering bright red, crisp, flavorful flesh. In the 1950s, Black Diamond was a very popular home garden variety. Fruits have gray-black seeds (perfect for seed spitting contests) and can grow quite large. In Arkansas, where it’s rumored to have been developed, local gardeners recommend this melon for greased watermelon contests: Simply grease the melon, place it into a child’s plastic swimming pool, and get ready for some fun as the kids chase it and try to grab it! Drought-resistant and prolific.

The Fable Was Not Able

As stories go
So do souls
They wonder then grow

As cold as snow
Or as fever ant as ice
Men are not mice

In fields of golden wheat; grain
Lost with out; insane
Forgetting all that was; ingrained

Living souls in stores
Forgetting their chores
They become the board

Life swings back and forth
Mistrust; faith out sourced
Flesh awaiting to be scorched

Saviour's a many, but never a one
Living beneath the threat of a gun
Time awaiting to be undone

Dear old Abe that Faithful one
His brother ascertained, then defamed
He was Cain, not thy brother's keeper

But an evil creeper
A vine unfit to be tied
Entangled a web which he is bound

Truly wrapped and then leather bound
Blacken and read; were the words
The Word; bled the color of red

This fabled prince, our lord
Three score and some
Defeated seven thousand and one

And still some will be lost
Torched along with the moss
For the fable was not Able

To save any one

A thought by Sinbad the Sailor Man
