Two Poets Arguing

"Must you always rhyme?",said he. "Must you be a show-off?",said she. "Each comment a grand show of your jocularity,"she huffed. "Ah, you are just so jealous,"he puffed "Not really,"said she' with serenity. "I just know you are capable of sonnetry." "But instead, lazily you pen footies," Hardly sourced from the great Muses! Dearest Ann~ late is better than never. It's an honour to get this...another POTD. I found out I had one at another site, also. Shocked me totally. I never knew, was back in May! I hardly consider this worthy of a POTD...some of my most recent Poems are far better. Take care and hope to be reading you soon. Pangie xxx

Greetings~ dearest Brandy. Indeed we all write differently. Good thing, eh! I Know I have found my own voice as of today. I don't particularly want to dance to any form. They are only forms. They are not me. We all are more than a poetic form. Each of us so unique and shining. Pangiota xx thank you.

Congratulations on POTD Panagiota! I am no sonneteer myself; I am finally feeling more appreciated here for my brevity than my “not good enough” for my persistent short form muse ;), Write on dear poetess ~xomo

You do so well with brevity. Accept you asis. I do know the power of your short great works.l Be you... Is the only answer. All who commented are now on a forever to read list. That is great. I forever am dangling with inferiority. No longer. Keep quilling, Hugs...Panagiota xxxooo

Panagiota, You've once again been honored for your delightful words! I'm so happy for you! The dialogue between two poets (in my case between my split personalities, haha) is a valid one, challenging us to realize our hidden untapped talents. I think of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, each with their unique writing talents spurring each other on towards maximum ability... I enjoy many poetic forms and Soup has been a wonderful place to explore and encourage that! Blessings and congrats ~ John

John, you great talent you! This really surprised me. I am aware of all the beautiful poetry here and forms we use. But humbled by the poets of the most pristine and excellent poets who have commented here today to this simple work. Says more about the commentors than me. I don't know the number of POTDS I have gotten, but it's more than a few. Best part is the folks like you. I know who to read and who not to read. This was a gift today. As are you and all others on this page to PS. Zero-Arrogance. I so appreciate that. Bless you, John...many thanks...Panagiota xxx

Anne-Lise~ gotta say, I respect poets like you who comment, even they we don't read each other all the time. As I was telling Mark. My eyes get burnout out and I must get off line. If I had my waY, I'd be on here all day but simply cannot. Hugz, Panagiota xo

I learned a lot from the responses. One must write from the heart. I like to feel the poets presence..its my preference. I am not a one liner kind of person. I don't have that skill. I learned so much from the responses. Pangie xxx

My dear friend, a poet writes, the form is like a casing-it simply houses the patterns, the thoughts and the dancing words into a cohesive form others understand. Sonnet or footles, what truly matters is the intent, the quality, the depths, the spirit and the illumination of the message the poet intends to gift to others! Worry not- write on..!!! God bless

Well said. I hope all read this Comnent. I will write-on, despite the storms that beset me. I just am not one to follow what is easiest, tickles others. I am not good at it. I can do live stand up, I can do improv. Funny poetry? Not me. Others, yes! Panagiota xx

So stated by a poet that so dearly loves sonnets.. Yet other poetry forms are not less or more. Each cobbler to his shoe, Each baker to his pies, Each dancer to their dance, Each lover to their true love.... Let the ink fly..... God bless....

Heavens..my comment disappeared! Round 2! Connnie, you are a top poetess in everysense. I wrote this for fun but it's turned into a poetic war. Silly! Many great poets wrote sonnets. They are more time consuming..for sure. They are not dark. Panagiota xxx
Date: 7/23/2020 8:11:00 AM
Cute! All poems don't have to be "heavy." Think "Ring Around the Rosy." Congratulations!

When my dad was transferred to West Texas, I lost 6 weeks of school, and had to make it up. I had to read, critique, and answer questions and then get tested for six weeks on "As You Like It.." I would never, never criticize you. Your poetry is head and heels above what I can do.

Yes....I happened to be past 12 years old. )))) I grew up with my Mom reading me Poetry. There are many fun poets and poems. I know poets here never saw As YOu Like It, by Shakespeare. If they did, they might understand. This was only a poem. PS chose it not me. All complaints, should be sent to PS.there is a misunderstanding here about sonnets, a huge misconception. Saddens me greatly. Panagiota 2, 4, 6,8'....who do we appreciate? You tell me. The greatest poets wrote sonnets not footies. They are fun I never said they were not. It was a poem. Panagiota in gratitude Xi

Funny, Paula. People got on their high horse about this one. It was written to be silly. There are so many kinds of Poetry forms here. Write as you choose. Me, too. Shakespeare wrote funny sonnets. They are all not dark. Guess poets don't know that? 3 congrats on a POTD? That's some nasty stuff. And shows me I am not wanted nor liked here. One has to know when one is hated. That would be me. I wouldn't choose this for a POTD. But PS did. Why write here? A bittersweet win, Paula Big, heartfelt hugs...Panagiota xx

The way it should be! The push and pull of two writers. At once jealous and driving each other. “capable of sonnetry.” Yes, I find I must be capable of the simple and complicated. Hugs :)
