Premium Member Interview with a Shooting Star

When the night is filled with questions,
and the sky is a jeweled blanket,
I sit on the deck of my water room,
listening to the waves flirt with stillness,
and the breeze ~ caressing the green of palm leaves ~
in an island of romance, where the heart sings
in sync with the music of nature.

In all that quietness, I see a flying star,
a flicker of golden sparks across the horizon,
and I let my eyes rest , as I breathe unwritten questions...

~ O shooting star, must I wait another fortnight
to catch a glimpse of your blazing bliss?

You need not wait, my shadow stays with you, when the world grows cold and distant..

But am I the only one, healing and hurting,
placing empty promises on your ephemeral essence?

O beloved dreamer, you are not the only one.
But in your thoughts, I hear an aching poem.

How do you see, when the faces I knew, forgot to trace beyond softened smiles?

I am just a meteoroid, leaving a streak of sizzling light ~
I am no wish-maker, but a fragment of divinity, a design of Almighty's grace.

Ah, and in you I see my muse, prompting me to write.
I wonder: why do I not see you in daylight, when the sun sits on its throne?

To see me when all is dark
is like hope sailing in a heaven-sent odyssey.
Lord knows why your silence calls to me~
as if I were a sign of faith…

They say you are anything but a star~
dust and rock, dancing through the air.
Is that true, O glorious glow?

I am everything a dreamer would dream of.
For you, I will be your rhyme and metaphor,
penned within purple pages~
a riddle the ones who do not feel
can never truly comprehend…

Thank you, perhaps , it is in your neon afterglow,
I will thrive as the silhouette of a shooting star...

STARS IN THE SKY

I'm standing on the shore and high above
The roar of waves and rustling of the trees,
A light is shining in the darkening sky,
While sun is drowning in its warmest glow.

I look up waiting for the one to show,
Its magic glow will warm my frozen heart.
That special light that sun nor moon can bring.
A sparkle jumping to my inner self.

I aim my wish up high and from my chest
My heart pleads to my shooting star above:
"Lift me up high and make me see from far
How you reach out and set my being free."

My white star softly strokes my hair and smiles,
While from his hands the moondust spreads around.
My bright star lifts the darkness from my soul,
In several myriad coloured specs of light.

And in his hands I beam and come alive,
Accept the dark night just for what it is:
A blanket, warm, to keep the light inside,
Embracing starlight deep within myself.

Shooting Star

Tumbling randomly without any semblance of grace
Without any companion or a familiar face
No path to tread, no orbit to trace
Just a nameless rock, in the cold infinite space

The distances are large and encounters few
Constant darkness, never a soothing hue
Fear and desolation seem to be my only friends
As I fly through space that has no end

From a great distance I see your light
Burning brightly and I exert with all my might
To turn towards what could be my first sight
Of a world without darkness and fright

Being alone in space leaves me free
Free to make decisions, free to be me
But would I like to be alone, make it my destiny
Or should I be pulled by the love of gravity

But it is tough to resist the allure of light
And I make my decision, hoping it is right
I fly towards you, feeling no remorse
And I feel the pleasure of you pulling me close

I am happy that your love I feel
And I approach you with a lot of zeal
Knowing that my loneliness you will heal
Although your love, my fate it will seal

I feel pain as your love tears me apart
I start to burn, but in my heart
I feel love, in every recess small
It's better to have felt love, than not have known it at all

The Grace of a Shooting Star

They asked me to go
To the hills, oceans, valleys and deep steeps
To see the beauty of danger
The mighty of height
The glory of width
So that I may sing from the bottom soul
Or may write from the depth of my understanding
Their suggestion is very welcome
But very annoyed to reply them that in my heart i have a bird
It sings all the time from the top of a hill
For the whole humanity living in the valleys and plains
It dives into the womb of an unfathomable ocean
To fetch gems and pearls till untouched
In doing so all the above
I many times fall as a climber falls in a steep
I know the gorges and their networks of trap
Bog is not unknown to me too
Many times I slip into its web
And you might go to wonder and express aw
Knowing that all these lie all time in front of my poetic eyes
Realised in the heart and expressed though the mind
In my soul i hold the whole cosmos
And its untold sorrow and pain
I go through every moment in my veins
Yet I play the string and with the music I dance like a peacock
Laugh like a child, blow and flow like the river and like the wind
No ill for any one,
No time i have to execute the role of a devil
No, i am not a sage, not a saint
I know not all, i am not a fake
I am genuine with human blood and flesh
Yet i keep my thought falling like a fountain
Pure white and chaste
By carving the basic instincts lust greed and the lure of telling lies
I bent like a rainbow when the urge of wanton wanting comes up
Without any bias and prejudice
Right and wrong I judge
True and false I decide with the rays of the sun
With the serene beauty of the moon I distinguish
Between the race of man and the race of dogs
And I do all the things I mention above
With the help of love I get from the waves while kissing shores
And keep riding with the pride of a tip facing harshness
With a consciousness of a hill
I wish not to lose justness
Even if, I fall from a cliff
As I find grace in a star while shooting
And glory in the height of rain drops while falling.

Shooting Star

Shooting star blazing across
the night sky of my life mortal
that rare event
only glimpsed
yet I see with my eye portal.
As thy radian beams
illumine my heart
I can’t help but think
this is only a start.
When thou landest on earth
I will search thee out and
draw night unto you.
Then shall my heart
be filled with mirth.

It came falling in the night
A brilliant joy of silver light
                            Through space and time
                                  has traveled far
                                 To meet earth as
                                   a shooting star
                               Romantic eyes gazed
                                      at it's fall
                              A glittering gem for
                                     one and all
                              Into the earth's dust
                                     finding rest
                                Meteorite finished
                                   her long quest

                                 A little earthling
                                   Came along
                                    Humming
                              "Twinkle, Twinkle"
                                A favorite song
                              With curious eyes
                             Perchanced to meet
                                 The alien rock
                                Just at his feet
                             Dreaming, burnt out
                                 resting there
                           He made her the star

On impact

Admiring one another from afar
Your fantasy inspired my light to shine
You were the moon, I was a shooting star
Recalling now when paths of ours entwined

I danced with your reflection on the tides
Played hide and seek with shadows in the trees
You looked my way as I came passing by
To flash a smile at me seductively

It saddens me to think how few our days
My love for you I'll keep for times of doubt
I'm grateful that we met along the way
Once old stars flash, how quickly they burn out

If future stars should pass this way again
Remember when we laughed and danced as friends
