The Sleeping Star

It came falling in the night
                           A brilliant joy of silver light
                            Through space and time
                                  has traveled far
                                 To meet earth as 
                                   a shooting star 
                               Romantic eyes gazed
                                      at it's fall
                              A glittering gem for
                                     one and all
                              Into the earth's dust
                                     finding rest
                                Meteorite finished
                                   her long quest
                                 
                                 A little earthling
                                   Came along
                                    Humming
                              "Twinkle, Twinkle"
                                A favorite song
                              With curious eyes
                             Perchanced to meet
                                 The alien rock
                                Just at his feet                                     
                             Dreaming, burnt out
                                 resting there
                           He made her the star
                              Of the science fair

Valsa George March 10, 2022 at 12:15 AM The shooting star speeding past through ether and falling down to earth must have been a wondrous sight. Blazing through the entire trail, finally when it lands on the soil, it solidifies into a hard rock . This happens very rarely.... no wonder it became the star of the Science Fair....
