Premium Member When the Moon is Full

They met beside the water’s edge
Drawn by the sound of lapping waves
Beneath the gaze of the full moon
Attraction blossomed into love.
But jealous fate split them apart
When out at sea a raging storm
Capsized his boat; no one survived.
But love like theirs could never die…
Twelve times a year she calls his name
Beside the sea where they first met
His words are borne upon a breeze
Her hair caressed; his presence felt…
This time her heart cannot endure
The absence of his form, his touch
She prays to God to bring him back
The veil between them falls away
Once more he pulls her in to him
As fingers trace her tear stained face
His lips claim hers in ardent kiss
She thanks her God for this sweet gift
His breath, his scent, what joy is this?
But when she opens up her eyes
She is alone on windswept beach
Beneath the gaze of the full moon.

Premium Member Waves Crashed Within My Veins

~ This poem is written in the 8686 syllable count style of one of my favorite Emily Dickenson poems, 'I Felt a Funeral in My Brain.'

'pon roiling sea a fierce storm brewed
  waves crashed within my veins
fueled by heady winds, they pursued
to drown my life with rains

With tympani beat, thunder roared
  bold lightning flicked and flashed
we pulled, we pulled, oh how we oared
  with nature's ire we clashed

Then came a clamor from astern
our ship had split in two
in my veins, swells still pound and churn
  until the moon breaks through

Calmed now, the vile tempest from Hell
  sky riveted with stars
Man holds no power to dispel
  nature's wrath when she spars

Premium Member Big Bang Theory of Merope's Nebula

Shimmering over a glassy sea, a moonlight carpet beams.
My walkway high to a starlit sky of memories from my dreams.

There mighty Taurus, rip-snortin’ bull, lowers his horns for battle.
Naked on his shoulders Seven Sisters ride side-saddle.

Dazzling diamonds, blue-white ice,
blazing through nebulosity.
Merope mocked and mooned me twice,
twerking with faux ferocity.

“Begone now, mortal, from my sight,
who dares defile the very night.
Look down upon the moonlit glade,
bear witness to the mayhem made.”

Agape, the Pleiad sisters wailed while yonder Cetus spouted.
“The culprit must be caught and jailed,” the rueful Virgo shouted.

The heavens heaved, so much offended,
torn fabric of time could not be mended.
Then darkness fell like a clap of thunder,
were it not for Einstein’s Biggest Blunder,
the Universe was blown asunder.

Who once wrote “God plays not with dice,”
had not known anything of such vice,
said: “Reading erotic poetry can’t compete with cosmic knowitry.”

Premium Member An Act of Terrorism

The attack on a shopping centre, is a crime against humanity
And yet we to continue to ignore, this ongoing brutality
You must always show a strong hand and stand up to the bully
Even if it that means triggering, an unwanted world war three.

Well it seems to me that we're letting, Vlad Putin have his way
When in fact we should be making, that war criminal pay
I'm sick and tired of the hatred that he has got for the west
And with his idle threats and bullying, he's putting us to the test.

Every time the Russian troops commit, a criminal atrocity
They laugh at the civilised world and murder with impunity
The west needs to mobilise and send Western troops in
And annihilate all the murdering thugs under Vladimar Putin.

Putin is a dead man walking, there's a price on his head
There will never be real peace until that physchopath is dead
Ukraine didn't ask to be invaded, but are putting up a brave fight
Whilst Putin is putting nukes in Belarus, to increase his military might.

Alex Lukeshenko in Belarus, is a poodle of Vladimar Putin
Is seen shaking hands with him and standing there with a grin
Another despot who's in power, because of a rigged election
And who supported Vladimar Putin in his botched invasion.

UPDATE - Turkey had concerns with Finland and Sweden joining the NATO alliance. These concerns have now been addressed and the path is now clear for both countries to join NATO.
So put that in your pipe Putin and smoke it till you choke.

Russia has withdrawn its troops from Snake Island in the Black Sea, a goodwill gesture they claimed, believe that and you'll believe anything.

Moments In Bubble

In the distant sea, a misty vista
Wearing a shroud of pale blue illusion
It sends forth silhouette of fiesta
A wake-up call for my faint sensation

On goes the red and pink pursuit for more
Shades of beauty in our daily struggle
A tango of time in tide on the shore
Rustling sounds in the moments of bubble

With the red rose tucked in your bun of hair
The wild wind keen to dislodge your sari
We are aloof in our velvet armchair
Distress accrues in your tense inquiry

The woodpecker looking for more and more
Let’s turn on to answer the purple door

Rsvp (For Mgh)

I've heard words falling from lips like petals
My poems praised like dead heroes
 For unbequeathed solacies
And sometimes a genius ask me where
Do the words from come from
Like drops of blood to stain a memory
 I smile
 Repress the bloom of agony
And wished if only they know

Every word is every drop me
 Nothing to waste
 Of images
Needling through the story like a cloth
 A tapestry of my pain,
Things lost that I never celebrated
 Things I cannot reclaim
Haunting me from an undead past
 Love burried
 Rumbling for a ressurection
Just to kiss the moon again.

 Drop by drop
The water falls from green leaves
That cannot drink the diamonds of their diadem
Taste it, without the salt of sea or blood
Heaven writes it poem in a flood
And I am the sea, I catch them all
The sorrows of the world brooding in me
 To peel your clothes away
And touch the delicacy of your skin
 Like memories touch
The portals of a pregnant day.

Once in a while I am a man
 A card will come
RSVP lettered in gold upon silk
 I show my face
Beside the blue of sea, a palm leftover
From the struggles with the storm.
 Once in a while
I write nothing but a tear
For the broken spell I had on you
 And wish like a poem
I could stain your heart with love.

Premium Member Death of My Ink

Death of My Ink

After a masterpiece that I was proud to write
no poetic words flowed from my pen out right
I could not ink the description of a desert dry
and worse yet had no mindset to try
thought I had to be conflicted enough
to use words to scream out in pain
I had no arsenal to name the sea a quilt of blue
Writing had come to a screeching halt
and not penning poetry was like food without salt
But just as a cloud hung over a little boat
a storm raged over my drink ink moat.
My ink did not have bicycle wheels
nor did it chase me wearing high heels
I had no idea if ink could have a revival
it was dead I assumed no survival.

Premium Member Lost and Found

(a New Year's Affirmation)

I know not where
the morning light leadeth me,
nor who, as I led, went before

I know not if a sea, a woodland,
or a mountain ahead to climb –
and, thus, my way to explore

For what I may see, may hear,
God, alone, knows true vision,
His worlds of sound, and where
our ultimate journeys are bound

As I must faithfully seek –
if to redeem my soul; for this
earth its Lost and Found....

{ ?!Empty Shores.... ~ }

Pride uttered its voice, afore an empty shore....

Waters embracing this moments arising

Darkened clouds within their gathering; these stirrings

Shadows of the once foretold; long ago, such reflective times!?

Glancing toward the south within this sound of stillness

Abandoned silhouettes, revisiting a ghost towns rides

As one whom awakens within a dream; a vision there to find

Deja vu perhaps; these images before my sight; beyond....

Joyful reverie, enveloping this night; thinking

An infinity left to behold; what was?!

White garments, shifting in the wind

Approaching amid such silence, those from a yesteryears

Tears, falling from their eyes....

Memories like grains of sand that, never were

Washed away; ten thousand years as a day

Swept into the sea a tomorrows horizon; this, forlorn storm!?

Peering into the forebodings thunderous lightning

Voices calling now from the north....

A cold winters chill to greet the dawning

These, tides of nevermore?!

As one whom awakens within a dream; visions there to find

Silent silhouettes; abandoned amusement rides

White garments; tears falling; yesteryears, standing upon....

....Empty shores!?

Honesty

Honesty

Is omission dishonest, a deliberate deception,

Or is it a weapon, to use at my discretion?

To be open and honest of all of my flaws.

Or build walls, fences, barricades and doors?

I sit and I ponder just how much of me,

Is acceptable to divulge, or keep mystery?

Is knowing me enough; face value, to you

Will we come un stuck, if honesty’s the glue?

With whom do I entrust the lock to my key,

Or from whom do a guard my inner sanctity?

Should my life be laid open, naked and bare,

For all passers by who choose to stop and stare?

What if I leave one or two things out,

Does that give you the right to scream and shout?

If I accept my past journeys and allow you to see,

Can you say you won’t judge, with full clarity?

Life is not simple, a flat sea, a calm breeze.

The roads less travelled, some travel with ease.

So I ask once more,

Is honesty a trait or is it a flaw,

To be used as a weapon or settle a score?

Using the Ocean

Using the vast ocean,
I look deep at the ocean, to drown out the stupidity,
I look at the sea, to drown out the violence of young people,
The more I look at the sea, a thousand times, the more lucid my soul is,
I look at the sea, to drown out the arrogance of talking hyenas,

I look deep at the sea, to drown in the smells of suburbs,
I watch the sea a thousand times to drown my sleepless nights,
To drown out the toxic looks, take off, you capture the sky.
I look at the ocean, to live in my country by the new energy of the grand desert.

I look at the sea, to drown the arrogance of the great cities,
I look at the red sea, to drown out the Brest bitterness,
I look at the ocean; I’ll look at it a million times,
Forgetting my day, how bad, people can be.
Because forgetting the dark side of my planet

I looked at the ocean
To drown out people I met,
And thoughts they had.

Premium Member Butterflies In the Snow

I was surfing the internet this morning…and among the stories in a world of woe…
there on the page before me…someone posted a picture of a butterfly in the snow.

And I thought as I sat there hoping somehow…our leaders…peace into our life would bring…this butterfly is also hoping…that winter will turn to spring

And I started thinking about nature and her beautifully varied kaleidoscope
of examples she sets before us…to remind us there is hope.

A little starling flying against the wind…a rainbow stretched across the sky…
flowers growing up through stones, the metamorphosis of a butterfly.

An acorn hoping to become a tree…should evoke in us hope’s power
Sea turtles racing to the sea…a new sprout about to flower.

A bird singing in the darkness…hoping for the sun and the start of a brand new day
An new-born baby’s hopeful cry….opening presents on Christmas Day

We all know the name Pandora…in one story of Greek Mythology she’s the star…
the woman who unleashed evil into the world…by opening a jar.

(Yes it was a jar the original Greek mythologists created….
but somewhere in the 16th century the word was mis-translated!)

When Pandora realized what she’d done…realized the world would be forever stained…she quickly shut the jar…where inside only Elpis, the goddess of hope, remained.

The ancient Greek mythologists used this story to remind us in a world where it’s hard to cope…to remember, just like Pandora, we always carry hope.

So when my hope begins to fade…when I think evil has progressed too far…
I remember Elipis, the goddess of hope, who Pandora’s carried in her jar.

And on other days when the news is bad…and I’m feeling la little low….
I’ll think of birds who sing in the darkness…and butterflies in the snow.

Premium Member A Bride Set Free

How romantic, the fall, so far above the pleading waves.
The heights, the depth, to look the deep in eye and weep.
Air space between the lovers’ arc and shallow graves.
The tangible singsong of wedding bells and tragic leap.

Imagine it, the harp-like spray, the call of gulls, the fangs
that scared it up - the fade of white, of pearls and lace.
The cleft, the crags, the foaming ebb and flow, the overhangs,
the rage and misery one cursèd night, of love’s erase.

Romantic and tragic body of sea, a bride set free.
for she’d not live eternity of blood, thus spills her own.
He has no heart, but tears. Before his fate - a honeybee.
The heaviness of weight, the sea frothing with moans.

The scene has wings that fly and dive and sweetly catch
the widower’s debris. Invisible, the flight of ghostly light.
From precipice, how many tears do claw and scratch…
Hell laughs, but jealous witch wished bride to be first bite.

Life Is No Longer a Wonderful Dream

Life is nothing but a sea, a sea of pain and misery. Full of lying and endless crying. Endless pretending and make believe that everything is not what it seems.

Putting on a mask of a smile, just for a little while. Only for it to fade and turn to gray by the end of the day. This is not what life was supposed to be.

Shattered dreams tearing apart at the seams. Broken apart in misery
