Premium Member Spring Petals Kissing Dawns Air - a Collaboration With Charmaine Chircop

When miserable clouds assemble,
bursting with drops of sorrow,
gusts of torment bring dark tides to your door.
You feel hope is like forgotten pennies,
lost at the bottom of a wishing well.

Arrows of anxiety keep firing
at your muddled mind.

When you feel trapped inside your head,
monsters lurk inside -
take a pace back.
Release each arrow from the bow.
Let all the pain be washed
by rivers from the rain -
as all bruises heal.

The smell of petrichor will inspire you,
your mind an estuary, hydrating on positive drops,
will replace soaring floods of negative emotions -
as glowing sun rays of love warm your face.

Through anything, through anywhere,
through anyone, reach thunder through your storm.
Let bolts of lightning shake the earth -
ground your soul firmly.

Even when there is no light,
an internal flame yearns to rekindle,
like spring petals kissing dawn's air.

Premium Member Eternal Memories

Life without you seems so surreal, so unfair that you are no longer here,
yet I still feel your strong presence, smiling while shedding a tear.
Although you've gone, so many memories reflect through my mind,
in times of trouble, you were always there, treating me so kind.

The amazing times we shared, forever live within my heart.
Physically we are not together, but mentally we are never apart.
Constant reminders of your unique fragrance still linger in the air,
especially in your closet, still full of clothes you loved to wear.

Ringing of your unique and contagious laughter still rings within my ears,
I know many more recollections like these will last a zillion years.
A white dove visits often, reminding me of your angelic grace,
every time I look into the mirror, I see your beautiful face.

Thank you for being my guardian angel, for showing signs that you're around.
Until we meet again my dearest, my love for you will continue to abound.
In days or sorrow, you always soothed with words of sincerity.
Even after death our special bond will remain for eternity.

Premium Member - I Am Closer To Fine, Thank You Very Much -

The power within you is unique
if you are true to yourself
   Today closer to fine
   Navigating your inner self
   changing landscapes
shadow pages and the imprint of the past
   fear fake investors
The word had a different meaning
   than expected
   Today closer to fine

   It is possible
to rise again after a fall
   Today closer to fine
   Trauma and mental disorders
   let go of your expectations
   hidden patterns and habits
One step forward and two to the side
move slowly and regularly from side to side
Nobody cares if you can't dance well
   Reward yourself with positive affirmations
   Today closer to fine

Premium Member Dick the Bully

I had not been on another poetry site even a week
And l had already crossed paths with a bully
A self appointed “Professor of Poetry” it seems
Who spewed out rude comments regularly

Now, I don’t know your name
So I will call you Richard
(DICK for short!)
Insulting and belittling
Others poems and effort
Is not called advice or support!

Now DICK, some of us just like to write poems
Simple though that may be
Not for judgement or accolades
Just for the joy of poetry

Being hurtful , rude and insensitive
Arrogant, intimidating and just unkind
Does not make you knowledgeable or gifted
Or a poet of any kind

DICK ….your words have no impact on me
I am strong and your words meaningless and weak
My concern is for the young or vulnerable
Who may be affected or scarred by this garbage you speak

DICK ….. I suspect you think you are superior
Intelligent and of a better class
But DICK I think you are doing a handstand
And talking out your ar*e

Who gave you the right to be so judgemental
To think it’s ok to humiliate and be cruel
DICK you just make yourself look like
An absolute DICK fool …..

Legend of the Webber

During a wintry storm in Newfoundland
A very pregnant mom went into labour
All on board died when ambulance crashed
The fate of that night was in no one's favor

When others finally arrived on the ghastly scene
They discovered mother's stomach was ripped apart
Not from the outside in, but from the inside out
Claw marks to get out chilled everyone's heart

In the freshly fallen snow distinctive tracks were found
Of tiny webbed newborn baby hands and feet
Grew to be known as Webber living deep in the woods
Coming out after dark to devour children as a treat.

As a child I was warned regularly to be home before dark
The fear of being eaten , I did not have to be told twice
I truly believe that my mother and grandma thought this to be true
Snuggled safely at home before twilight was sound advice

Premium Member FBT A Berry Special Bar

There is a very trendy Smoothie Bar down town
Called ‘FruitiBaTuti’ but known to all as FBT
Where a colourful bunch of close friends work
All happy, hardworking and dedicated to their duty

FBT is a busy hip and happening place
Daily, customers line out the door
Waiting for smoothies considered supreme
Like they have never experienced before

Paul Passionfruit is the owner of FBT
A fair and fun boss
FBT is his love and passion
His staff have never seen him cross

FBT’S manager is Annie Apple
A fresh faced ,crisp, sweet girl
Until she starts drinking cider
Then her inner party girl unfurls

Second in charge is Freddie Fig
A charismatic ,charming lad
So chillaxed that he doesnt give a fig
When FBT gets crazy busy mad

Louie Lemon is a member of staff
He is known for being quite sour
Yet when working at FBT
He is a honey and often the man of the hour

Grapes is another sweet member of the team
Who is kind and cares a whole bunch
He likes to party with Annie Apple
Drinking way too much wine when it comes to the crunch

Mango is a popular staff member
Pretty ,happy , her heart aglow
Regularly with a new boyfriend in tow
As she keeps letting her man-go

Pineapple is the newest member of staff
She is keen to learn though at times a little unsure
Her big dream is to eventually be ‘just an apple’
She pines to possess the apple allure

Dates is the Casanova of the staff
Often on dating apps swiping left or right
Looking for the perfect, soft ,luscious woman
Though he secretly has Mango in his sight

Peter Pomegranate is the joker of the team
Funny , forever making everyone laugh
He comes from a little village in England
Nicknamed Pommie by both customers and staff

Strawberry, Blueberry and Raspberry are sisters
They are the casual and relief staff at FBT
Sweet, bright and accomodating
Each sister is berry, berry special indeed

Cool music is played at FBT
With conversation and laughter abound
The vibe and ambience is upbeat and lively
Come down, meet the staff, have a smoothie and enjoy the surrounds!

Premium Member Borderline Love

It's difficult, but please try to understand,
my behaviour is something I cannot command.
At first I'll be serene like a sweet daydream,
but then unstable and intensely extreme.

Enter at your own risk, but be aware,
loving me can turn into a nightmare.
I'm like a grenade, don't pull my trigger,
I'll explode your mind with raging rigor.

My infatuation is like poetic idealisation,
but feeling unloved leads to devaluation.
The first hint of believing you're quitting,
will result in my psyche automatically splitting.

When I begin to feel like I'm not good enough,
I'll try to push you away and call your bluff.
You may label my actions as pathetic dumbness,
but this is me feeling empty with numbness,
so I make no apologies for the ghosting silence,
when my demons set restrictions like sly tyrants.
I try to block out regular paranoid suspicions,
so don't think I'm petty when setting conditions,
but with abandonment issues, I struggle to trust.
Please be sensitive as being patient is a must.

Be warned, my moods are regularly inconsistent.
My double standards may make you feel distant.
I need constant reassurance that you are only mine,
because insecurities make my sanity decline.

I don't want you to suffer like lovers who came before.
When I want to leave, don't let me run out of the door.
I just want to be loved with all my flaws accepted,
instead of being rejected, lonely and neglected.
Treat me gently and my self doubt will settle,
love me sincerely and I'll bloom like a precious petal.

Premium Member My New Years Resolution

My New Years resolution is not to make any more New Years resolutions!
I've made 'em in the past but they died on the craggy shoals of the Aleutians!
I'd swear to ease up on the vittles but I caught those scales lyin' to me.
I tried to curb my cussin' by usin' terms like gosh, darn and golly gee!

I resolved to be more courteous to other drivers and not flex my middle digit,
And be more patient with my kids when they wanted to squirm and fidget!
I vowed to take my dentist's advice and floss my choppers each and every day.
I flossed religiously but lost my religion leavin' my teeth prone to decay!

I promised myself that I'd exercise regularly in order to keep fit and trim,
But preferred lollin' in my LazyBoy with a beer sans goin' to the gym!
'Tis obvious when it comes to keepin' resolutions I ain't got much fortitude,
So I reckon I'll take my chances and not lock-in on any inane platitude!

Premium Member Night Angel

In deep slumber madness, she comforts me
Appearing, unencumbered, from the mist
Subconscious suspension our nightly tryst
Erasing my mind of bad memories
She mends and warms my soul so tenderly
Imbibing my thoughts and heart with her kiss
Lovingly fulfills a long ago wish
Thankfully restoring my sanity
Regularly she visits in silence
Enlightening my dreams with wholesomeness
Wiping my tears of angered betrayal
Exchanging her love for malevolence
I awaken with renewed happiness
Refreshed from the angelic portrayal

The Calamity of Nepal Part 2 Concluded

The Calamity of Nepal Part 2 Concluded

The crisis of Nepal is not only the result
Of manmade deeds and erratic constructions
Of erecting unplanned houses and roads
Creating illegal buildings and dams
And erecting high mountain reservoirs
On ocean like river Brahmaputra. 08

All these and many other
Horrible acts
Of changing or removing the mountain peaks
For roads, rails and for
Making concrete jungles
Without caring that
It is the most sensitive area of Earth
Where two giant Earth plates
Meet regularly almost everyday
Not for making gossips
But for making their kind of Love
Where, they often collide with each other
To determine, who has lost and who has won
These forces create
Havocs like the one we are witnessing in Nepal
They do it to take revenge
For the cruelties
Done by humans with the Nature
And with the mother earth. 09

The Earthquake is also the result
Of hollowing the heart of Himalaya
For making tunnels after tunnels and rails
For mining the hills and
Deforesting the green valleys
Removing forests after forests
For illegal mining and for erecting dams
For these reasons perhaps
The Earthquakes has hit Nepal and India both
But in Nepal it has done the worst
In spite of being affected by this crisis too
India is trying its best to help the people of Nepal
And now there are many other countries
Trying and helping the people of Nepal
Like a true good neighbor and well wisher. 10

All that is needed
In the hour of this terrible crisis
Is that we all should try to help
The people of Nepal
Treating them like our own
Next door neighbors and friends
For which every faith and religion
Always inspires us. 11

Premium Member Mary Ann's Age-Old Excuse

Mary Ann had a boyfriend that she
gave affection and great loyalty.
Since the age of sixteen
no one else had she seen
but she wanted more at thirty-three!

Her boyfriend, of course, had it made
since regularly, he would get laid.
So excuses he gave
when Mary Ann would rave
about marriage. . . and unwed they stayed.

Getting pregnant was her coup d'etat
when she said, “You will soon be a pa!”
She said, “Furthermore, Bruce,
I don’t need an excuse.
In my mind we’re a pair - common-law!”

Premium Member Music To Die For

Have you thought about the music to send you on your way
If they played you Bach not Beethoven would there be hell to pay

I had to make the difficult choices when my father died
Mario Lanza ‘I’ll walk with God’ – oh how my mother cried

The Lithuanian National Anthem, of his heritage dad was proud
I can still picture him proudly singing it; he always sang it loud

Gaudeamus Igitur was another favourite song of dad’s
He would sing it regularly when he had a beer with the lads

Maybe its time now for you all to think ahead
For it will be too late when you are already dead

So think about the songs that you would choose
Do it while you are still here – you have nothing to lose!

Premium Member The Poet-A-Thon Charity

Hi folks
Welcome to the Poet-a-thon for charity
Yes we know, starvation, disease, floods, wars
All terrible events in the world
However, tonight we fight a new cause
Yes a new cause more terrible, more sad (some may have sad “sadder”)
more .... well just more
Worse than global warming even, worse than climate change
Yes, there are poets out there who can not afford even words

Poets who cant express their sadness
Their joy
Their visions
And yes, you, you the viewer can fix that
For only pennies a day, yes only pennies
You can sponsor a poor poet
Then he will be able to post his work to the world
Including those fancy photos
Bringing joy and peace to all mankind
But folks, this can only happen
If you pick up the phone
And dial 1-HELP-A-POET

Your actions, your good will, your sense of duty and compassion
Can save a poor poet
You may even be saving the world
You can sponsor him like we said for pennies a day
Premium membership, lifetime membership, what ever your soul can spare

And remember, with your sponsor ship you will receive
A photo of the poet you sponsored
A monthly poem detailing how his life has changed due to your kindness
Reports from his local bartender, letting you know he’s writing his little heart out
You can even visit this poet’s small village
There, you can take him out for a dinner at his favorite steak house
Yes all this is included with your sponsorship

So pick up that phone, don’t wait, do it now
Dial
Yes its 1-HELP-A-POET, call now
Desperate poets are limited
