Best Record Breaking Poems
Such was time, a record-breaking passage
When you were forever, my endless mate,
A sleeping rose wrestling against ill fate
Touching a hag’s needle in an era of rage.
Yet I sought you, enmeshed in feisty strains
Bound helpless by a a mad witch of charade,
Till lightened journey began to slowly fade
As my beard grew longer from your remains.

It’s one of the masters of colony domination
and the longest standing territory with unchanged defined borders.
The wave power of praia do Norte
attracts the unique technology of a wave farm existence.
In a compound of many flats, it’s the most reserved
and one of the twin sisters
in their menopausal period of the life imprisonment era.
The first domineering power to abolish human right repressiveness
which sustains the oldest alliance made in the world.
It’s a colourful identity, maintained by the porto
which has been imitated by regional powers.
Shines through a record-breaking Santa Claus parade
and hitting heights with a ‘half-a-county’ dinning.
Known continental praises of remarkable length in Vasco da Gama;
shows off mini-glory in the league of large firework rockets;
an intangible cultural heritage in the express exhibition of fatalism;
are highlights to its greatness
spreading from porto to Lisbon, then Braga to Benfica and overseas
contributing its ink, in the inscriptions of the developed giants.
Hey, Lord,
It's been another day-
Another day of little nothings.
No brilliant fireworks!
No record-breaking events!
No fantasy dreams come true!
Just another day.
I breathed, I ate,
Kept warm, dry, and safe;
I worked, played, and slept.
I saw and heard.
Tasted, smelled, and felt.
I loved and shared-
Was loved back in return.
Just another day.
Wow!
Just another day?
Forgive me, Lord!
Guess you've spoiled me
With all those little nothings-
The really super somethings-
That made up your miracle
Of "just another day."
Hey, Lord- thanks.

What the Butler Heard
Extract from a memoir
Lord Illustrious Penge of Lampwicker Hall,
Welcomed local Toffs, to his Name-Dropper ball.
Noses upturned with a touch of conceit,
Hob-Knobbing with gentry and gentleman elite.
Colonel recalled, his luncheon with Churchill,
Discussing backbenchers and a new Commons bill.
Shooting down Stukas, Captains claim to fame
“We had no choice Sir, Hitler started the game”
Lady Bell and I, champion ballroom dance,
After meeting Fred Astaire, purely by chance.
I worked with Crosby, taught him to Croon,
Just as well really, he couldn’t sing in tune.
Rupert went to school with Dame Vera Lynn,
and starred in a war film with Anthony Quinn.
Mortenson served, in old Atlee’s Cabinet,
Roberta was a Barrister when they first met.
Bradman hit this Six, into the members stand,
Luckily, I caught it, stretching out one hand.
I got a hole in one, on the sixth at Upper Plumb,
Sir Monty looked aghast, utterly struck dumb.
Sent my son to Eton, toughen him up a tad,
Hopefully play at Flanker, just like my old Dad.
Got myself a Cadi’, drives like a dream,
Shiny sleek and black, trim of vintage cream.
Gielgud and Guinness, met me at the Royal,
A script for their new play, Rich Man & Toil.
Later with QE2, after receiving my MBE,
She asked my opinion, of the shows on BBC.
I stayed at base camp, nursing a busted leg,
Hilary splinted it up, with rope and spare tent peg.
Spent some time in Burma, till the Japs came in,
Came home to Blighty, temper wearing thin.
I was at the Oval when Hutton hit 364,
England posted 903, a record breaking score.
In service with his lordship, so many stories,
Serving champagne to upper class Tories.
Tales might be true, just a little overstated,
Like the one that got away, typically inflated.
They were rather pompous, but often kind,
Especially the ones, left with half a mind.
Get me a stiff one Walters, Champers is gassy,
Just Lords way, sounding snob and brassy.
Then I won the football pools,
Bought my wife a gem,
So now I am a gentleman,
Just like the rest of them.
For the past half billion years
They crawled the earth both soil and sphere
Million trillion unknown souls
To eat and breed their only goal
Homme or femme hermaphrodite
In pairs romance 'neath damp moonlight
Throughout the year they dig and toil
By the billions aerate soil
Breaking down organic matter
A major fertilising factor
Unseen, unheard, unsung dirt hero
Eco workers far from zero
Brought to surface by rainwater
Exposes them to blackbird slaughter
Toad and fox and rat and mole
Darwin's bloodbath takes its toll
Under ploughshare countless die
Modern farming genocide
Then one decides to grow and grow
Survives the hedgehog and the crow
Point four a metre - foot and three
With mass an ounce a bit weighty
Record breaking - caused a rave
And someone thought to call him Dave
His gift to science sealed his doom
Humanely killed - a glass jar tomb
Cardboard headstone with his name
Immortalised - the cost of fame
Twitter whitter - late to save
Anthropomorphised earthworm Dave

Once, long distant calls would cost
You, your friends and family so many voices
had to wait, anticipate the budget and the worth
of words said out loud to ride rapid electric lines.
Still sentiments of love freely fly on telepathic planes
while prose and poetry remain yours truly.
When present face to face do you speak truly?
Conversations branch out, chip, splinter into stories, that's the cost.
Fish stretch past arms' length and record breaking climbs pass clouds and planes.
Tell me again how it all began, how many voices
sang out from heaven: Forgiveness for sale! Limited supply, form lines.
Greedy practice, selling soul's salvation, who figures out what it's worth?
Fear can make us pay the selfish who decide our worth.
Are our souls and spirits make-believe, a magician's trick or God's, truly?
Conversations of belief from heart or scripted lines
brainwashed or sincerely swayed, choice has a cost---
Cross your fingers, chant the scriptures, sing with all your voices
until it's real or a lie you can live with, insured for your departure in heaven's plane.
If a soldier's plane crashes, angelic eagles soar, swoop like planes,
nose dive to every soldier because lives are worth
remembering. Telephones shoot words-- bam, bam, bam, fire voices
on ears that bleed worst fears, shattering those who love them truly.
Nothing will ever be sweet or innocent again, this is an impossible cost.
War kills conversations, steals final farewell lines.
Songs please draw forgiving lines,
to rise over hatred in unarmed planes
for a bird's eye perspective to consider the cost
of love lost in doubt, its worth.
Love lights up any sort of soul, truly.
It's power hurls bolts through nerves that revive the mystic voices...
Devils, misfits, do-gooders, cherubs and chumps-- let's hear all your voices!
Call out to love, it won't resist, will cross any line
to save who is good or bad-- it desires everyone, truly
Here comes the light, hear comes our flight, listen for the plane
Remember it's insane to worry about your worth,
to be, to be, is miracle enough, we can't comprehend the cost.
Solo fly or get in line formation with you plane
Lift off, blast past hatred to reach Love's treasure of unimaginable worth.
Truly precious, so protect it, Love in all your actions no matter what the cost
but this government MANDATE
from Harris County is unnecessary,
unconstitutional, and unAmerican.
It’s an unprecedented overreach
which looks more like a communist dictatorship
than a free Republic.
And here in Texas
We believe
That people have to make
Their own decisions
What’s that?
Drunk driving should be okay?
Driving without seat belts
Or insurance should be okay?
What is wrong with you people
Requiring people to wear a mask
Is not the same thing at all
It is communism socialism fascism
Liberalism nanny state run amok
And we will not stand by it
At this point,
I see it as nothing more than politics.
Governor Abbott announces a trajectory
to start reopening Texas and Harris County,
which never even utilized its $60 MILLION
pop up hospital at NRG, I
mplements a mandate
for face masks on 4 million people.
The other counties to do it are Dallas, Bexar, and Travis.
These are the 3 most liberal counties in the state of Texas.
Coincidence?
I don’t think so.
They are all filled with godless liberals,
Gays and anti-Christians and democrats
Who hate America
And hate TEXAS
I believe we’ve seen
the worst of this war.
What?
There has been a record breaking
Increase in covid cases?
Just more fake news
Everything is fine
Here is Texas
Cough cough cough
And we’re closer to victory
than we’ve ever been.
Let’s keep doing our part
to be conscious of others
when we’re out
and make sure to hold
government accountable, always
But don’t wear a mask
If you do
We will pull you over
Because you are probably
A criminal type
Wearing a mask
To protect yourself
From the non-existent
China flu
And we don’t want your kind
Living and polluting
Our great Texas state
Cough cough cough
You have to ask your self
Are you tired of living in a dictatorship yet?
This is what happens when people go crazy
and get tested.
Groundhog Day derives from a Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if the groundhog emerges from his burrow on February 2nd and sees his shadow due to clear weather, it will return back into his den and winter will persist for six more weeks. However, if he emerges and does not see his shadow due to cloudiness, the spring season will arrive early. So for 2018, on Groundhog Day, "Will he or will he not see his shadow?" Following the lines of the seemingly illogical, I forecast that on Feb. 2nd it will be cloudy, and Mr. Groundhog will not see his shadow. Thus, spring will arrive early this year. That whole groundhog thing doesn't make sense to me, but I do believe that spring is coming early in 2018. I'm thinking that the snow, ice, mudslides, sub-zero temperatures and the like will have lost their punch by mid to late March.
I forecast that although there will be lots of devastating tornadoes this spring, they will be totally upsetting but not so record-breaking. Although there might be a selfie or two of someone with an approaching funnel cloud in the distance, there will be fewer lives lost due to more shelters being built and improved warning systems.
The 2017 hurricane season was unusual and is unlikely to repeat itself. The hurricanes picked their paths and packed a powerful punch. I forecast tamer and fewer hurricanes during the 2018 season. I don't think that mother nature is angry with us, nor am I certain that the 2017 season was indicative of the wrath of God as some seem to believe. He has plenty of reasons to be, but I don't think that our Maker is angry with us.
The temperatures will continue to be higher in general. The fire season will be normal to slightly above normal relative to the intensity and multiple outbreaks. Also, I suspect that people will make better adjustments regarding their environment relative to forestation.
Our prayer should be that there be less spring rain. In some parts of the country, if the heavy snowpacks begin to melt combined with heavy rains, that could be catastrophic. It would be a perfect storm for massive flooding. I anticipate more flooding in 2018 especially in the mid-western and eastern states as a result of the heavy snows this winter. May God forbide the perfect storm.

It's Time
By Franklin Price
11/24/2020
It's time that we moved forward
Past the days of Donald Trump
He came and opened up our eyes
And kicked us in the rump
He was not of Washington
Not of pseudo royalty
Fought the swamp, for what it's worth
Worked to make the people see
Was doomed from the beginning
They harassed him from the start
He did well on what he promised
As they were tearing him apart
The media and Washington
Found that Russia would not do
They moved on to impeachment
More expense for me and you
Trump could'nt keep his mouth shut
He fought back at every turn
Not what he said, but how he said it
Something he would never learn
The economy was better
Unemployment rate at best
Stock market breaking records
Then came the Covid test
A third world war was on us
He shut us down to fight the fight
Trump was blamed for all bad things
Even for this newest blight
He organized to get a vaccine
In a record breaking way
And organized for distribution
Now the vote has made him pay
The left encouraged Mail-in votes
Could be used to change the tide
Used to change the numbers
By the Democratic side
Election night, Trump was ahead,
At two declared he'd won.
Not so fast, the mail's not in,
Not over 'til it's done
Blocked from the counting houses
May not have had a valid count
The President took legal steps
To assure the right amount
All of this was no surprise
The left had done it from the start
If not underhanded cowards,
Would have stabbed him in the heart.
It's now time that it's all over
Biden's total count has won
Both popular and College
Trump is over, said and done
It's just as well it happened
For if Trump had come around
The left side would have rioted
Burned buildings to the ground
Hope we recognize the U.S.A.
Just four short years from now
We the people need to make it work
Not to kiss their rings and bow
Never heard this expression, 'polar vortex' before this year
Wish it had never entered my vocabulary
This is a winter like none we have experienced in many many years
Bone chilling, beyond human endurance
Not civilized, whether you were born in the north or not
This is beyond that which we humans can tolerate
It's off the charts, record breaking
Spring has never been more anticipated than this year
Let's hope it's not a sign of things to come
Let's hope it's once in a a very long cycle
To be remembered as THAT year
Never to experience it again in our lifetime
Never heard the expression, 'polar vortex' before
Hope never to hear those two words again!

Who's sung "I'm in the Mood for Love?"
Then again -- Who hasn't?
Who's announced, "I'm in the mood for pizza!"
Perhaps, rather -- Who hasn't?
Who's proclaimed, "I'm in the mood for a drink or two!"
Then again -- Who hasn't?
Who hasn't thought, "I'm in the mood for a dental appointment!"
Perhaps, rather -- Who has?
Who hasn't felt, "I'm in the mood for a record-breaking snowstorm!"
Then again -- Who has?
Who hasn't mused, "I'm in the mood for a lecture on discipline!"
Perhaps, rather -- Who has?

Who hasn't said, "I'm in the mood to go to work!"
Then again -- Who has?
~ And why not?
Nature's beauty, where harmony is around
Joy and peace twirl jointly across the ground.
It is in watching that our souls find release.
As animals, arty or elfin, lend solace and peace,
Secrets lie in floral fields and dim woodlands.
Our souls find a sanctuary as wonders stand.
The swift, free-flying birds above enrich the sky.
Their music fills the air with a calm sway.
Their vibrant hues and wings are bright.
Tinsel brightness to the deepest twilight.
As we observe their magnificent flight.
Our souls' brim with unadulterated delight.
The vast fields where the animals graze
We grasp a sight that makes us feel amazed.
The friendly cows, with their sweet eyes
Imagine the calm and peace of such dyes.
Their halcyon grazing and steady pace
Teach us how to live in blameless grace.
The opulence of nature lets us foster our eyesight.
Behavioral and temperamental highlights
Every creature we strike across
Such odd squirrels and their antics in the moss
Remind us to find delight in each beat.
Even In the record-breaking heat
The sage owl sat at the top of a tree.
It Imparts awareness for all to foresee.
The devoted dog with a wagging tail
shows us the concept of love sans fail.
Nature's grandeur brings us comfort.
Watching animals made us feel triumphant.
They remind us of the joy in simple things.
And the awe-inspiring splendor that dawn flings.
Let us watch the birds as they dance in the sky.
And feel their freedom as they soar up high.
Let us watch the animals on farms and in the wild.
And appreciate the lessons; they teach as a child.
So let us bestow a moment to pause and reflect.
On the beauty that surrounds us in every aspect.
As we observe the animals with an attentive gaze,
We find a sense of awe in nature's endless maze.
In the presence of nature's wonders, our spirits lift.
As we witness the colors, the feathers, and the swift.
In observing animals, we find a sense of delight.
A reminder of the beauty that exists day and night.

Dear friend, let us pause a while and live
Is preparation so paramount
That the competition can be foregone
And yet, another fills the gap
Dear friend, let us pause a while and dance
Now that the muscles do concur
And the heart leap
We have seen Ali stagger
Outside of the ring
Dear friend, let us pause a while and listen
Sometimes words are not enough
They twist more than they untie
Let's speak to the soul through silence and action
The world is full of activities
Even those with entertaining Facebook updates
Glittering photos on Instagram
Record breaking followers on twitter
Are within lonely
Some needs are unseen
They must be quenched from within
Dear friend, Let us pause a while and relate
Most hearts are bleeding
Oh! Not of heart breaks
That's a better disease
Than, void and emptiness
Yes, even God detests vacuo
That he made the world to fill it
Dear friend, let us pause a while and think
Shall we not one day leave
What then shall remain of us
If not the relics of our existence
The prints of our touches
Given a thought to what yours would be?
Dearest, let us pause a while and teach
Teach the young to love
And the old to tolerate
Teach the youth patience
In Foruma1, the fastest doesn't always win
Let us pause a while and love
Even love tames the wild
That it responds to direction
How much more a man
No one is made of steel or stone
We are all flesh and blood
Touch a heart today
Share your life today
Why wait, there is enough time
In the serenity of the grave
You're like the powdered sugar on top of my funnel cake
The chopped fresh fruits inside my favorite milk shake
The bowling ball candy paint on my Super Sport Impala
The sweet surprise when I bust my piggy bank and find a crisp, folded dollar
The sharp creases in my slacks when I'm dressed to impress
The pardon from the priest after a Catholic confess
The blue ribbon around my neck after a first place victory
The record breaking home run, "baby, you just made history"
The lights around the Big Apple
The crackle sound during a tackle
The Golden Anchors on a yacht
The back arching feeling when I've hit that spot
The "Home Sweet Home" mats at the door after a hard journey far from home
The best Travelocity deal ever presented by the "Roaming Gnome"
The one Golden watch in the case with the Silver chains
The Remedy, not just the anesthesia that cures your aches & pains
The Platinum record on a new, young musician's wall
The Red, Yellow and Orange colored leaves that pleases those in love with Fall,
The crackle of the fireplace on a snowy winter evening
The realization that you've made the right choice after hours of difficult reasoning
The joy of watching your son graduate
The joy of knowing peace after dealing with hate
The 4 to 2 & 2, summed up for a child
The gentle breeze of a summer's eve... Soft, caressing and mild
You're sweet, you're sexy, you're smart, you're fun and you're funny
You're the only bee's hive around for a bear addicted to honey
Like this fiend's latest hit
Summed up, girl YOU are the "ish"
You're hard for me to hate, and easy for me to love
You're more than just amazing. You're all of the above…
The person that I've grown to be
Has rhythm in her soul.
Music shaped my life, you see
It played a central role.
The sixties made us “Twist and shout”
The Beatles held our hand.
I liked the things they sang about
They're still my favorite band.
The seventies brought us “Dancing Queen”
Led Zeppelin brought some others.
Dolly sang about “Jolene”
Michael left his brothers.
The eighties put us “Back in black"
“Purple Rain” was killer.
Michael Jackson led the pack
With record breaking “Thriller"
The nineties introduced a sound
It changed the way we sing.
Who knew Rap would stick around
What did 2000 bring?
Nickleback, Alicia Keys
Beyonce and Adele
What music will the future bring
Only time will tell.
