My Pledge of Allegiance

"My Pledge of Allegiance"
by: Eric L. Boddie

I Pledge Allegiance To The Word
Because there is no greater sound I've ever heard
I Pledge Allegiance To The Son
Because His Sacrifice Allows me Earthly Life And Beyond
I Pledge Allegiance To The Father
Because He Loves me better than any other
I Pledge Allegiance To The Holy Ghost
Because His Level Of Power Is By Far The Most
I Pledge Allegiance To His Love
Because It Protects me from danger and things thereof
I Pledge Allegiance To His Teachings
Instead of the one who is doing the Preaching
I Pledge Allegiance To His Every Commandment
It takes both, Reading And Prayer, To Understand It
I Pledge Allegiance To His Work
Even if it leads me to where evil lurks
I Pledge Allegiance To His Holy Fight
Because i truly want to bask in Heaven's Light
I Pledge Allegiance To His Faith
Because nothing is more Beautiful than His Grace
No flag, no nation, no constitution....I know so many will say that is odd
But I am just one of His Children, my Only Allegiance Is To God

Premium Member A Poet's Pledge

I will release no rhyme
Before its time.
No limerick, ode, haiku, or sonnet
Will 'scape from 'neath
My poet's bonnet
'til it be trimmed, and tamed, and non-aggressive,
Or overripe with verbiage
Or punctuation too excessive.

I will not break
This pledge I take,
Cruel critics' barbs though I endure.
My verse I'll brace with style and grace
Until my place in poetry's secure.
Of course, should "laureate" become my haunt, too,
I'll release anywhere,
And anyhow,
And anytime I damn well want to.

Pledge of Friendship

I may not always be at your side
but I will always be on your side;
I may not be there to protect you
but I will always defend you;
I may not always walk with you
but I will never run away from you;
I may not always understand you
but I will never close my ears to you;
I may not have the speed to sprint with you
but I will endure in your life's marathons -
you will always be my friend.

Pledge

...for Juvie

Whene'er you feel distress my own heart aches,
that you should suffer so without release,
I would sustain the hurt for both our sakes,
absorb the pain, and set your soul at peace.
For I can ne'er be still whilst you are fill'd
wih anguish, your tranquillity diseas'd,
we two as one, our aggravations spilled
and blended 'til the torment be appeas'd.
To find a way from darkness into light,
to cast away our feelings of despair
we will prevail, that all our days be bright,
and you shall rest content within my care.
This spell of sadness soon will disappear,
for with my love you'll overcome your fear.

I Pledge To Love You

With this ring I promise

To care and comfort you

Treat you warm and tender

Go hand in hand life through

Come stormy weather

In gray skies or blue

My home's forever... to be close to you

I pray you’ll love me... as I say I do...

At the altar I stand... pledging heart to you

Premium Member I Pledge Allegiance To a Dream

I pledge allegiance to a dream
embodied in the fabric of a flag.
A flag imbued with hope
tarnished by fear
bloodied of necessity.
This flag, this weary tattered symbol
of what we strive to be.
Countless men and women
have bled, grieved, died
not to glorify a symbol
but to defend an idea, an ideal
keep our fragile hopes alive
make our dreaming possible.
This flag does not speak
It needs our voices
It does not weep
It needs our tears
It does not forget
it must mourn
those who swore allegiance
to its dreams.

Your birthdays come and go!
But I just want you to know,
How much I thank you for loving me~
For understanding that I am not perfect,
For helping me to grow when growth seems so elusive,
For helping me find my self again.

I am just a poor girl~
I don’t have diamonds and millions bucks,
But I know I am wealthy, for I have YOU.

But even if I am the richest girl
I cannot afford to buy anything~
That would suffice what you deserve,
For you are above all the riches in this world.

You are the missing piece that completes me~
The wings that let me fly and see
that behind the dark clouds
a beautiful sun is smiling for you and me.

You are the ink that flows upon my diary,
A hand that reaches me ~
when my fingers can’t even grip a pen;
You are the colours of my palette ~
the hues that highlight all my paintings,
the whisper that awakens my muse,
and the light and shade upon my canvas.

My dreams are simple…
My wishes are humble…

On your birthday and all birthdays to come~
Take this gift of a lifetime:
"My Pledge of Love" sealed in prayers;
I vow to be with you in all seasons,
To be with you as we embark in all voyages;
And when old age comes that I may tend to forget,
Your eyes will see me through,
To be my shining light ~
until we breathe our last,
until forever ends.

I love you forever.

Notes: For my ever loving husband on all of his birthdays.

True Love

Shall I roses, ruby hued
Shall I trinkets, gem imbued
Shall I words, in passioned mood
Promise love, sincere and true?

Shall I Cupid’s bow request
Shall I darts in you impress
Shall I pierce that perfect breast
Just to prove I love you best?

Not though heart should cease to beat
Not though breath should be deplete
Not though time should life defeat
Could I love you more, my sweet

No earthly flower, nor gift, nor sound
Nor arrow … pledge love more profound

Romantic words spill from a poet's quill
Dreams of love in mirrored reflections
An unlocked chest, confessed to a swain,
purging what was buried inside her heart.
Sonnets filled with tender emotions
and a solemn pledge of love and devotion.

The Lord Jesus Christ spoke to me and gave me specific instructions. Number one I was to post The Pledge of Allegiance on all of my websites. Number two was to post the Lord's prayer also. My latest instruction was to post the 23rd Psalm.

The Lord's prayer

Our father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on
Earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts as
We forgive our debtors. And
Lead us not unto temptation.
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
And the power and the
glory forever.

Scrubbing Bubbles, Dreft, Life Buoy, and Shout.
Help me to get my greasy grimy out.
Irish Spring, Dove, Windex, Borax too,
I turn to them when I am blue.

Cleaning is something I resolve not to do
unless I am in the throes of a horrible boo-hoo.
Clorox, Borax, Tide, Dawn, and Ajax too.
They only come out when I am mad at you.

If you see the Pledge, you had better run.
If I bring out the Zest, for you it is not going to be fun.
If you see Old English you know you are a cad.
Because I only clean like this when I am truly really mad.

Or if company is coming, which is only two or three times a year.
Where are you going,- as I reach for the Tide - afraid of me, dear?

I tell you that I love you,
but you don’t believe me.
I try to hug you,
but you don’t like to be
touched.
Every time to I try to kiss you,
you say that you’re sick.
I try to be there for you when,
you’re feeling down;
but you say you want to be
alone.
Why don’t you embrace my
 love?
“Because when my mom told
me she loved me, she beat me
every day. She never hugged
or kissed me not even once.
Please tell me how can I wel-
come and embrace love when
my own mom didn't love me?
Oh by the way I never knew
my dad”.
“I understand you so much clear-
er now. You have been through
so much my love. But know this I
pledge my love to you until you
believe”.

Premium Member Hat Pledge

To myself, I pledge,
To wear my hat with pride, joy, and allegiance.
Even when there is no convenience, and mastering all levels of
Exceedance.
I pledge to be committed. Consistent, and act royal
To the end remain loyal.

When I’ve slayed all day
I retreat to rest
Knowing, I smiled in my hat and gave it my best.

A Friends Loyalty Pledge

I've got your back will always be
A term of my loyalty
Call me any day or night
If something just isn't right
A cash loan I'll give to you
Anytime to help you through
Sickness won't keep me away
By your side I'll sit and stay
If tears are falling from your eyes
My shoulder will keep them dry
Anyone causing you pain
Will make me badly insane
When your low and feeling down
My love will be all around
If doubts fill your mind with fear
I will make them disappear
There will never be a time
You will ever seem to find
A friend more faithful than me
It is in the first degree
That I pledge my loyalty
Hoping you can really see
I'm not going to abandon
A friendship that's never landing
