Your birthdays come and go! But I just want you to know, How much I thank you for loving me~ For understanding that I am not perfect, For helping me to grow when growth seems so elusive, For helping me find my self again. I am just a poor girl~ I don’t have diamonds and millions bucks, But I know I am wealthy, for I have YOU. But even if I am the richest girl I cannot afford to buy anything~ That would suffice what you deserve, For you are above all the riches in this world. You are the missing piece that completes me~ The wings that let me fly and see that behind the dark clouds a beautiful sun is smiling for you and me. You are the ink that flows upon my diary, A hand that reaches me ~ when my fingers can’t even grip a pen; You are the colours of my palette ~ the hues that highlight all my paintings, the whisper that awakens my muse, and the light and shade upon my canvas. My dreams are simple… My wishes are humble… On your birthday and all birthdays to come~ Take this gift of a lifetime: "My Pledge of Love" sealed in prayers; I vow to be with you in all seasons, To be with you as we embark in all voyages; And when old age comes that I may tend to forget, Your eyes will see me through, To be my shining light ~ until we breathe our last, until forever ends.
