Forever Side By Side

I witnessed pure love spilled out in front of me

I watched him caressed her lovely face,
a tenderness of his touch eased her distress.
I heard him spoke of their love,
and the melody of his voice gave her strength to gaze at him awhile.
I saw his hazel eyes filled with unconditional love overshadowing the sadness creeping up behind his voice whilst a smile never left his face.

I knew then what the true meaning of love,
she’s the everything that matter to him!

She lay there,
motionless!
Brown eyes focused only on him,
and I glimpsed deep into her brown eyes,
her soul yearning to reach out to him,
wanting to speak of her unconditional love.
But in spite of her condition,
her love for him is written all over her lovely face.
Never fade never halt,
pure love shine on.

I knew then what a true love is,
He’s the reason she’s still breathing!

Through smile they communicate.
Holding hands they are forever one,
love embraced them peacefully,
forever side by side...

~ I wrote this during my vacation on Guam 9/9/19
And I was so captivated witnessing true love...

Celebration of Wind and Fire

Celebrate the unseen face of God’s eternal Spirit
 Embracing all before creating light;
Action word of the eternal dance
 Hovering over the chaotic genesis of creation;
Leading exiles out of exile through empty seas with fiery pillars
 Feeding wanderers hungry for heavenly bread at dawn;
A living shadow pushing away the shadow of separation
 Planting salvation’s seed deep within the sanctuary of a young girl’s yes;
Wearing the face of a dove descending on the Word
 Leading anointed redemption into the empty desert place of prayer;
Driving wind and flames arriving on a festival morning
 When fearful souls stood up to speak the languages of the world gathered;
Raising up a new tower of adoration reaching Heaven’s ears
  Uniting with eternal words no longer babbling;
A fire, that never burns, burns through dust of days long past and now
 Still hovering, descending, overshadowing, and dancing;
A sacred nudge delighting in coincidence
 Filling up the thirst that gnaws for serendipity in surprises;
Inspiration birthed by the invisible hand of holy mischief
 Inviting ambivalent, wavering, steps to roads of rightness in quiet whispers;
Lowering mountains, preparing highways now made straight,
 For pilgrim’s feet gathering flowers in wild wastelands;
Caressing, prodding, in moments of a-ha ever evolving -
 Timeless mentor of universal innovation;
Handiwork of the restless holy leaping up in wild fire
 When old hearts dream dreams and young eyes see visions;
Laughing, dancing divine whimsy pirouetting through stars and galaxies
Never the same when touched by the Spirit dancing.

Ungrateful People

Why is it when you go out of your way
To help someone brighten their day
Or solve a problem that has things in disarray
They want to play you as if to say
You owe them in some superficial way

Putting on some kind of poor me display
Overshadowing the kindness you portray
Some are not able to see the good deed
That some people give so freely
They do it because they are able to see
What a difference this would be
For them to help make your day stay in play

Some people lack the ability to foresee
People go out of their way, not for praise
Or to be a standout who wants you to obey
Not to create a cushion for some far off distant day
We do it because we care
When we see someone in dispare
Or life seems to be unfair

When someone is down on their luck
Because everything has run a muck
Feeling like lightning has struck
Then being able to help someone become unstuck
It's just good karma that is our choice to send their way
It doesn't require money
Or a promise you will make it right someday

It simply requires a sincere thank you
A genuine reply without asking why
Understanding that everyone
Has not just left you standing
When your day became way to demanding

Knowing someone went out of their way
To keep your day underway
It's not how we repay the kindness
But rather how we display
All the goodwill that came into play
To help make it through your day

Heaven Wept

The darkest clouds ever
... overshadowing sight never before seen
Ominous high noon weather
shuddered the souls witnessing
		the
	      death
		 of
     the King of kings
It was a festive occasion for the wicked
that Son-less day —
a Roman execution was underway
Three wooden crosses
were fastened to the sky
And the howling of the darkening air
changed the joyous atmosphere to fear
The wicked were taking pleasure
in their vote count
They were pleased with the final tally ...
a murderer being released
in exchange for
		the
		life
		 of
    the Prince of Peace
The Conqueror of Sin now hanging on a cross,
dying the death:
Crucifixion —
so unimaginably painful
Roman capital punishment
was lethal lingering torture
But for the evildoer viewers, it was a short-lived savor
For the black clouds had blotted the sun,
plunging the sky into total darkness
Heaven wept that day,
without shedding a teardrop from the sky
Heaven cried that day,
blood tears of the Lamb of God
Sanctifying water soaked the ground
Cleansing the Resurrection plots,
that one day
would be opened by the trumpet sound
Heaven wept
funeral tears for us,
wearing a shrouded veil of darkness
Hiding anguished Holy eyes,

		 for
		 the
	Father could not
		look
		upon
		 the
		Son

As the King of kings Messiah savior blood
dripped
            down
            	    the cross
from a
          thorny
	            crown

His Epic Power

You can see the little corner of light,
back behind the shadowing cloud.
If man were not so self-centered,
we would recognize that which is so proud.

When I see the epic sky above
the land so stark and alone.
I see the hand of the Lord
Overshadowing all that has been done.

The strength of His hand is there to see
if you will look with both heart and eyes.
His fingers cover the entire sky
as we await the rains of His surprise.

His hand out stretched to cover all the earth
  from horizon to horizon above.
Guarding the world He has made
in His abundant love.

When I see the power of His greatness
in this epic show of His hand.
I think of the wonders that await
for us, how they must be so grand.

I feel sorry for those who do not believe
  in Him or His Son.
But where would power so great be
had He not said, "Let it be done"!

For in these images that we see
we can feel the strength of a mighty rod.
More than that in this epic I not only see,
I feel the hand of God.

Premium Member Secretly Scary

When life gets suddenly scary,
you search around for a safe place.
And try blocking reality:
with tricks of imagination.

Anxieties begin to climb:
when life gets suddenly scary.
And paranoia stalks your thoughts;
overshadowing happiness.

Ghosts of buried yesteryears haunt;
while memories morph into tears.
When life gets suddenly scary:
Love retreats into wishful dreams.

But dreams only come out at night:
for fantasies fade in sunlight.
And you're held hostage by your fears:
when life gets suddenly scary.

Storm Brewing

As I stepped out
onto the porch this evening
I felt unnerved
by the atmosphere
There was nothing but
calm stillness, and yet-
it bore a hint
of turbulence so small
as to only be perceived
in an odd sensation
on my skin

Thinking of the calm
before a storm
I hastily scanned the sky
searching for an ominous sign
But the sky was clear
albeit a weird mixture of hues
with too many shades of
Barbie pink overshadowing
the dusky purples and blues

The yard itself seemed
normal-but-surreal, too...
and looking at the
technicolor-green grass
I felt overwhelmed by
a heavy stillness in the air

As though I were trapped
in a vivid photograph
the only thing still alive
still moving- and suddenly
utterly oppressed
by a feeling of uselessness
with no idea of what
to do with myself
I felt a crazy impulse
to run away; as if
my presence there
was the problem
and that by leaving I might
find my way back
to other living (moving) things.

Inside once more
I now find the surreal stillness
has moved inside the house...
casting a pall over
the living space and
stretching down the hall

I fancy it has followed me
edging closer, stalking me
quickly closing in-
but as the feeling begins
to encapsulate me-
I am shocked to realize
that the turbulence feels
strangely familiar

I had only noticed it
in the stillness
away from daily distractions...
but it was within me
from the start.

Premium Member Ere Come the Dawn

All are feeling anxious on the old camp ground this night.
Weary Yanks are girding for tomorrow's awful fight.
Young soldiers loll about, staring blankly into slowly dying embers,
Dreaming of home, recalling happier times that each remembers.

Supper is finished, the usual rancid coffee, hardtack and beans.
The sentries call out, "All Is Well!", one of their hourly routines.
Sergeants huddle with comrades, offering solace to their platoon.
From across the way is heard a harmonica's melancholy tune.

From afar, Rebel cannon is heard, a portent of things to come.
Men in gray are readied for battle to the beat of muffled drum.
The ebon sky is aglow with the cannons' awesome display,
Competing with the moon, overshadowing its mellow ray.

Here and there a Bible is opened to the Twenty-third Psalm,
To once again be comforted by that eternal message of calm.
Pensive eyes that on the 'morrow may be forever sealed,
Gaze upward, imploring God's embrace as their guardian shield.

Hastily penned notes read, "If I should be borne to heaven above,
Know that we will be reunited in The Father's gracious love!"
Gallant men draw upon their innate will, apprehensions to allay.
The dulcet strains of "Taps" lowers the curtain on another day.

Premium Member In the Fragility of Dreams

In the fragility of dreams
Slowly withers with the complexities
Of life while also overshadowing
Flowers on tufts of whorled branches and leaves
Drowning bleakness in unforgiving world

An infinitude of grief, death has stolen
Whilst the imperfections human has claimed
Infinity of disregarded blithe
And the unforgotten echoing sounds

While dreams grow bonding loss souls on restless
Moonless indigo sky, no stars dangle
Insidious sleep a chance of finding
Fragile trouble soul disastrous defeats
Which still doth grow fragility of dreams

Premium Member Redwoods

the tall redwood trees
burnt, carved, hollowed for shelter
still green & standing tall

like a redwood tree
I feel tormented and saddened
ignoring hardships
standing here for centuries
sharing calm & serenity

wish I could be like a redwood grove aged with wisdom
I feel like a giant overshadowing my misfortunes
sharing my thoughts and giving peace and happiness to all in world

Premium Member Happiness

I explore thee in the glorious sunrise over the lake,
I search thee in the joyous flight of birds,
I wish the bright sun rays would fill my heart with cheers,
I hope the spirit of freedom will uplift my emotions,
Yet I feel an emptiness in me overshadowing your existence.

I chase thee in the drifting clouds,
I pursue thee in the green mountain valleys,
I wish you would fill my instincts with the cloudlike divine ecstasy,
I hope you would paint my mind with the valley's eternal gaiety,
Yet I can't discover you in the wonders of nature.

I gaze thee amidst twinkling stars in starry nights,
I probe thee in the moon light over the dark shadows,
I wish you would comfort me from my agony and distress,
I hope you would give me strength to overcome my fears,
Yet I mysteriously elude you from my feelings and emotions.

I seek thee in the deep blue eyes of my love,
I quest thee in the money and riches,
I wish your love would last forever in me,
I hope money and wealth would bring some glitter in me,
Yet I am disheartened as I can't find you in materialistic pleasures.

I know you are waiting for me somewhere,
I would love you with deep passion,
I wish my pain and sorrow would be replaced with joy with your touch,
I hope my dreams and hopes would come alive with your presence,
Yet only if I could just find you somewhere.

Dear Mother In Law

The way you walk unsteadily,
But those wrinkled hands made dishes heavenly
Your words are straightforward, sometimes spicy
But it contains nectar with perfect quality

Tenacity of yours become an allurement
Upon the reflection of the ideal mother on earth

I grabbed your hand in the middle of our walk
I sustain half weight of yours when you said tired on your footsteps
We laughed off the humority of our different generations
The curve of your face overshadowing me by the figure of your son, my husband

What have I got sometimes beyond the things which I earn from my mom
You missed your grandchildren, you say
You missed the excitement in the middle of your living room which now is hollow
The curve of your face overshadowing me by the figure of your son, my husband

You said, every descendants of yours should be mature by their educations
"Do not repeat the failure of my times"
Economic problems snatched your opportunity
Your chance to gain the precious time in knowledge, you say

You said with the trembling lips
And eyes glazed with tears which almost spill
My heart melts
I held my bleary as well

Dear mother-in-law
Our lives would be much better
A promise will I hold till further
For the sake of your son, my husband

Premium Member In Cinema

A movie about horror
Characters playing with mirror
Reflecting images of furor
Dissecting with knives of terror

Villains of phantasm
Heels of sarcasm
Viewers of spasm
Breaking apart like chasm

Stories of apparition
Product of man's illusion
Overshadowing people's intuition
Instinct over perception

Curtains of cinema, wide open and free
Watchers of stigma, cold hands on knee

Lesson of the story, mind over body
Shadows of mystery, glimpse of artistry

Silence of niche in the wilderness

Underneath the sands is the richness

I Am the Pond

I am the gold fish
Swimming in the pond

I am the blue bullfrog
Bellowing in the pond

I am the yellow tadpole
Feeding in the pond

I am the fluorescent dragonfly
Nesting in the pond

I am the white rock
Wading in the pond

I am the Noble Savage
Siting on another rock
Contemplative near the pond

I am the sycamore tree
Overshadowing everything within the pond

I am the boisterous wind
Breathing the breath of life in the pond

I am the high noon sun
The spark of life in the pond

I am the green algae and amoeba
Supporting all life in the pond

I am the tall river of grass
Cleaning debris in the pond

I am the blue heron
Raising like the Pohoenix
From the tar sands in pond

I am the black sea turtle
Like an island
Caring for my children
Black white yellow and brown
In the blue pond
