Redwoods

the tall redwood trees
burnt, carved, hollowed for shelter
still green & standing tall

like a redwood tree
I feel tormented and saddened
ignoring hardships
standing here for centuries
sharing calm & serenity

wish I could be like a redwood grove aged with wisdom
I feel like a giant overshadowing my misfortunes
sharing my thoughts and giving peace and happiness to all in world

(A combination of haiku, tanka and sijo)

A noble desire.... ! So insightful too... Wishing to give joy for others is a humane thought. b/w Please note that tanka is a poem of five lines.

A creative masterpiece, Jay. All three forms were rewarding to read. The imagery and the wisdom passed on to us was inspirational. This one goes on my FAV list, my friend.
