Secretly Scary

When life suddenly gets scary, Love searches for a safer place. And tries blocking reality: with tricks of imagination. Anxieties begin to climb when life suddenly gets scary. And paranoia stalks your thoughts; overshadowing happiness. Ghosts of buried yesteryears haunt; while memories morph into tears. When life suddenly gets scary, Hope retreats into wishful dreams. But dreams only come out at night: for fantasies fade in sunlight. And you're held hostage by your fears: when life suddenly gets scary.

Emile.. powerfully emotive. So many are held hostage by fear and it's not just kids. It's adults, it's leaders. And that in and of itself is scary to me! This was a smooth, well written poem!
