Best Like Royalty Poems
I got to wonderin' the other day
who was the greatest poet ever?
Was it a guy named Willie Shakespeare
or someone much more clever?
I thought it over for quite a while
just who this guy might be.
Then suddenly a light went on!
By God, it could be me!
So I'm gonna write a Masterpiece.
Just you wait and see.
It'll be the best poem ever wrote
and the author will be me!
Everyone from near and far
will know my famous name.
The poem I write will be so great
it will bring me worldwide fame!
I'll be chauffeured 'round in limousines
and flown in private jets.
Everyone will call me "sir"
and I'll have no regrets.
I'll be treated just like Royalty,
No matter where I go.
I'll be waited on hand and foot,
just to let you know.
So when you're in my presence
don't you forget to bow,
cause I'll be the greatest poet ever,
I'm tellin' you right now!
That's it - My mind's made up
and since I'm gonna be so great,
I decided I won't write it now,
you're just gonna have to wait!

A faint perfume of lilac blooms has stirred the sleeping dawn
Bright sunlight weaves a golden loom with threads across the lawn
Crisp white-lipped Delphiniums tossed snowflakes to the hills, while
Daffodils and pink jonquils shake off the morning chill
Each violet of morning has left no stone deferred
Found growing near, a sprout appears from every seed interred!
Greeting me like candle flames, are poppies, gold and red
Hawthorne weaves a golden crown around the arbor's head!
I look long past the windowpane, and spring has bloomed anew,
just in time to see the sky revealed in shades of blue
knitting primroses in surprise! A sight long overdue!
Lost between the flagstones, alyssum, wild and free, has
mushroomed into puffs of white, competing with sweet peas!
New sprouts of cosmos spring alive in flowerbeds we've teased
On winter's lace a pansy face is smiling up at last!
Petunias in their pastel coats, are dressed like royalty
Queen of all in velvet robes, the iris crowns the grass!
Resplendent are the foxgloves…..and the dragons are a Snap!
Sweet Williams are such gentlemen, they make the morning grand
Tiger lilies brave the wind, stalking in the breeze
Under every shady tree, violas are reprieved, while
verdant shades of primrose lace wear green upon their sleeves
Wisteria's hysteria spreads levity with ease!
Xanadu is Statice "quo"……now, what more could it do?
Yarrow blooms tomorrow. I'll have to dry a few
Zinnias mean that spring has sprung, to share fresh air with you!

There's a balance of harmony inside our tranquility,
a euphony aligned with affection and romance,
substantial depth of contentment and stability,
for you, my love, have given me a second chance.
A euphony aligned with affection and romance,
your tenacious devotion, my stubborn ways,
for you, my love, have given me a second chance,
thank you for taking to heart every word I say.
Your tenacious devotion, my stubborn ways,
although I'm not surprised by your loyalty,
thank you for taking to heart every word I say,
no matter what you still treat me like royalty.
Although I'm not surprised by your loyalty,
your unwavering ardent nature always prevails,
no matter what you still treat me like royalty,
I shall always express my sincerity in complete detail.
Your unwavering ardent nature always prevails,
substantial depth of contentment and stability,
I shall always express my sincerity in complete detail,
there's a balance of harmony inside our tranquility.

I remember
dancing for joy
Sitting on an open shelf
This beautiful maiden
Strolls into the shop
As my eyes whistled
She picked me up
Holding me in her hands
Smiling down at me
Excited
Oh I love
Words had trembling effect
with this cheese
Taking me home
You took a little bite
A little taste
Nibbling
Out of me
Lips softly grin
bursts in flavour
Almost cheesy
Licking delicious
Opening a door
You placed me
on top shelf
Felt like royalty
Lights out wow
The last face
I remembered
Ever so beautiful
Weeks pass
Feeling almost
out of date
Left in the dark
A smell started
Pungent in fungus hair
Taking over
almost septic
Crawling green
in mildew
Beautiful maiden
Awaiting you in dreams
You open the door
Squealing out
Monsters
frightened in the fridge
All I done
was shout cheese
Smile darling
I am
all yours
Sweet love
Thrown in a black plastic bag
Broken hearted suffocating
with the rubbish
Shouting walking away
That's me done
With cheese
It was so sad
The green hairy
old monster
Began crying
Now smile
for cheese
As you will not like
To see the ugly side
Of the green
hairy old
Cheese monster
A sweet madam of fair
sits full of beauty and womanhood as
her husband plays a sweet melody full
of harmonious devotion…
Though, I am not devoted to him anymore. I can barely hear his soft tunes, for I am engulfed inside the mind of another man. I fell in love with my lover Nicholas not too very long ago. I had been married for seven years when our eyes first met and since that day I vowed I would be with him, if only in secret. If my husband only knew how happy my Nicholas makes me, he would rage in anger and throw fits of mistrust in my face. He has always been the angry and abusive type. When I meet my Nicholas with bruises on my arm, he wants to ruin his life.
The tree I sit under weeps for me daily. He cried so hard yesterday all his leaves fell off his lonely branches. He knows my sorrow and treats me with the sort of kindness only a tree can give. I lay upon a white stone lifted above the grassland with a crown of red roses with my back turned. The crown was given to me by my lover. He stated once that I deserve to be treated like royalty and his nose thinks I smell like roses. This way, since my back is turned, I do not have to look my husband in the eyes and lie once again. I don’t deserve to be treated with such cruelty. Whenever my Nicholas enters my mind I know I am adored. Whenever I enter his mind, he knows he is loved. I stay there pretending to listen to his melody in agony so he does not know I have another lover. I scream of frustration inside. But soon I must make a decision. A very difficult one indeed. When I close my eyes, I see my Nicholas’s lips. When I open them and he is not there, I get a longing sensation to go be with him. We meet down by the creek and he whispers sweet nothings in my ear with his cheek by my neck. The cloudiness of today will turn into bright soul shining wonder tomorrow in my Nicholas’s arms…
I am nothing but a sweet madam of fair.
I sit full of beauty and womanhood and my
mind knows who my heart truly belongs to.

YOUR LOVE
(Music & lyrics by Joan Donnelly Ellis ( for Male Vocalist )
Your love has always filled my deepest longings
Your love performs actively
What I found hard to do you managed somehow to see me through
And awakened dreams that were once only fantasy
You're a work of art my living Mona Lisa
You're the mountain top a trumpet's claim of victory
You're the solid ground beneath my feet
The wind that launches a fleet of ships that sail with the best in life for you and me
Chorus:
You've given me loyalty, treated me like royalty
Even during the times when the opposite was due , ou-ou-whoo
Then you amaze me by asking wild and crazy questions like .
Why am I so in love with you
Verse 2:
No your love hasn't always provided what I wanted
But when it come to needs as if by magic you'd supply
Then you tell all of our friends to you I'm like Heaven's angel on lend
When I fall you rush to my defence with logical alibi
Repeat Chorus :
The sounds of the orchestra filled the room
Ballgowns and tuxedos graced the dance floor, and in one corner, an elite group of gentlemen mingled over scotch
In the early days, he treated her like royalty
Posh dinner parties and fancy galas
Always the steady beauty on his arm
He had no intention of loving her
She was just for show
But soon, all of the pieces began to fit
Late nights at the office
Endless executive meetings
His 'misplaced' his phone
He had been playing her all along
Yes. It was time
Time for big brave steps and a big-girl move
It was now or never
With one final glance at the men in the corner of the ballroom, silently, she slipped out

I can not slow her stride
She gets further and further every day
It breaks my pride
She is unaware of what she is passing by
As I lay down to think of her I sigh
She's unreasonably cunning
She has me running
In circles in my mind
On the lookout trying to find
Her
But she keeps a steady stride
And forever has left my side
She is in her own world now
She left me alone, how?
I treated her like royalty
She had my loyalty
She had earned my trust
It blew away in one gust
The gust had came in
When she had spoke of
Him
She left as quickly as had came
Thought of her drive me insane
Now I am the one having to move along
Music can keep me happy
Sing along to every song
Even if it feels awkward and wrong
She left me without thinking twice
I thought she was nice
But she is no more
What all for?
I thought I was worth it
I guess not
I guess the only problem
Between the two of us was
Me
The babies of the fall
The fairest of them all
They live to weigh the scales
‘Cause “Justice will prevail”
They’re social butterflies
Personalities full of charm
Their smiles, you’ll memorize
“They’re sweet so what’s the harm?”
They love beautiful things
They’re into casual flings
But these ones tend to cling
Like an angel to its wings
These lovers are the sweetest
They’ll take your heart to Venus
They can also be the meanest
‘Cause kindness ain’t their weakness
With their lie detecting skills
You’ll be running for the hills
But they’ll treat you like royalty
If they know you’ve got loyalty
They’ve got the gift of gab
Their heart is up for grabs
They’re romantic to the core
They’ll leave you wanting more
the way ill treat my girl is like royalty,
and she wont have to worry about any other girl over me because ill never be
disloyalty,
i'll be your king you be my queen,
are relationship would be different something that no one has ever seen,
because im the type of guy thats rare,
i'll surround you with all my loving in the air,
i'll hold your hand in front of my friends and family better yet the whole universe,
i'll pick you over a party or game anyday because my baby would always come
first,
i'll give you all my loving as if i was cupid,
and unlike other guys i wont play with your mind or act stupid,
i'll give her my world and never try to lose her,
and if she ever gets cold ill put her in my jacket so she wont go burr,
i'll do some chessy things to keep that smile on your face,
i'll take your breath away and i promise are memorys will never be erase,
im that shooting star that you'll wish for in the sky,
if your looking for someone to treat you right pick me because ill be that guy,
i'll keep that glow of happiness in your eyes,
and trust me im not the type of guy that would just try to get through your thighs,
i'll keep you away from harm,
and to keep that promise ill forever keep you in my arms,
if you ever woke up from a bad nightmare,
call me ill show up to be your teddy bear,
i'll be the guy to bring you back up when you are down,
i'll never do anything to give you a sad frown,
but if i ever did anything to make you upset,
i'll do everything i can to fix the problem because i never wanna make your eyes
wet,
anything you want i'll give it to you just because i want to satisfy you,
i'll forever stay true,
and never make you feel blue,
whatever you do for me i'll give you my loving back one hundred times more,
and if another girl tryed talking to me i would simply ignore,
because you would be the only one i would adore,
i would give you space anytime,
and you can talk to other guys i dont care because i know your already mine,
i'll forever keep the butterflies flying in your heart,
and trust me i would never do anything to tare that all apart,
i'll give you all my loving thats inside of me,
and if your searching for someone to unlock your heart then look this way cuz im
the one that holds the key.
Through cloudless skies of azure over land of pastel hue.
bringing forth my heart to flutter and my speech again ‘true blue’.
So pleased to touch my land again when stepping off the plane,
and better still the old hometown, alighting from the train.
There’s old familiar childhood that I’ve lost for twenty years.
Near strangled by my Mother; then near drowned by her tears.
While Dad stood proudly waiting, I s’pose he could understand.
When Mother finally let me go, we shook each other’s hand.
They made me feel like royalty, Mum couldn’t hide her joy,
with question after question (for I’m still her ‘little’ boy)
Dad acted as a waiter like he’d never done before.
Five times we raised our glasses’, before I said “No more!”
I asked about my old mates, and if they still lived in town.
Mum grinned ‘done well’, ‘gone west’, divorced or ‘silly bound!’
We’d laugh about old memories until we nearly cried,
of course there was the sadness for the couple who have died.
Mum’s home cooked meal was ‘manna’, and soon remembered most,
though it was Tuesday evening, this is the Sunday roast,
home made ‘mint sauce’ and mustard, milk warm from the cow,
stewed fruit with separated cream that I never can buy now.
Mum spoke her inner feelings and whispering she’d say,
what is the gossip of the past, that little mattered anyway.
But Dad was Dad, he hasn’t changed, his face had altered though.
I skimmed across the surface with what they only need to know.
The ticklish subjects came to light, ‘how are the kids of course?’
Am I coping on my own since I finally got divorced?
Placing ‘yes’ where it’s appropriate, and ‘no’s’ don’t go amiss,
Mothers see their sons as angels. There’s no need to alter this.
It wasn’t late but late enough, sleep is needed by us all.
My single bed was waiting there. Heroes still adorn the wall.
Dad spoke subdued as he stood up. I’m sure I saw a tear,
“Son don’t wait another twenty years. Next time we won’t be here.”
Dressed in light and wearing a crown of Olive leaves,
Love stands before Loyalty her husband to be and a
host of wedding guest. Looking into each other's eyes
the two exchange vows.
Loyalty - My dream of making you my wife has become
reality. I promise to hold you in my arms and keep you
safe for all eternity. I promise to cherish you and treat
you like royalty.
Love - I've been waiting for this moment ever since my
heart took it's first beat. Like doves flying on the winds
of peace I promise to uphold this marriage above the
clouds of serenity.
Surrounded by all the virtues Loyalty and Love kiss.

Feelings of
resentment, I
spurred my
immaturity, my old
man, bestowed his
lousy gift of
unwanted knowledge.
taking from him
lessons,
ungratefully, these
lessons were for
life and patience, I
saw as he worked the
entire world.
From basketball
grounds, to going to
my bedroom, home
court advantages all
his, sitting on his
throne
Angers swelling high
Embarrassment had I
My day would come
soon
Early years had I
that passed,
enduring all those
moments, feelings
disappointments
almost every day, I
grew numb
I, believing for
long stints, life
does not care for
happiness such as
mine, and I gazing
at the man of the
hour every hour
like royalty, taking
my defeats less like
a man, more like a
subject would he
ever pass the
scepter?
Spending those
moments
I appreciated more
In the coming years
I watched five
o'clock shadows,
form on the court,
his face, our
memories, I felt new
kinds of sadness to
win
Getting closer to
his score,
understanding his
game more each day,
I panicking, so used
to being the loser
thought those days
would never end, a
mentality to fail
once more might
revive our spirits
Mutual respect
Changing of the
guard had come
All so bitter sweet

I hold assurance in my heart as each day is brought forth,
I need my trust in the Lord for my constant conviction,
beliefs in my hope gives me reliance and true self-worth,
and to know it all started one Friday with the crucifixion.
Devoted to my creed while surrounded in loyalty,
for without the Lord’s reliability where would I be?
He has saved me from myself and treats me like royalty,
I feel compassion towards others and I am finally free.
I have so much to offer the world with my affection,
I’m definitely not flawless, but I’m in a good place,
many mistakes are made, no such thing as perfection,
only the Lord has perfect dedication through my faith.
Oh, hear my cries at night to save people from destruction,
may I spread the steadfast truth creating an alliance of sincerity,
let my trustworthiness flow and help others from life’s corruption,
thank you Lord for your strength and wisdom you give so freely.

A mission of Love
not a call of duty! That’s beyond and above
moments in time of devotion
your acts of love, a drop from an ocean
reminiscing weary souls in youth's grasp
cherished and cradled to the last gasp.
*****
A mission of gratitude
to a soul with noble qualities imbued
a whole journey of giving
a natural spirit of caring
to a precious parent so much we owe
the power of endurance, a willow!

You are not hiding a truth
you're revealing the secret of Hope, in sooth
you’re keeping the flow of fountain of youth
you just have spared words of pity and ruth.

A mission of honour
a parent, a real treasure.. alive or a goner
earning parenthood and humanity
deserving of being graced by respect and dignity

and have a precious soul forget that an end is coming
