Best Kinship Poems
Rat to Bat: "Sir, up close you look like a rat.
I"d like to call you cousin
if you won't mind that."
Bat to Rat: " No, impudent rodent, you're crass,
denizen of the gutter
without a touch of class.
You creep while I swoop, you crawl while I fly.
In evolution's totem pole
you're low, I'm high.
Im cousin of the larks, you're kin of the gnats.
Listen: Angels are to humans
as bats are to rats!"
People come to tell me your weaknesses
They come with a list of vices and faults
When they are done, I laughed out their meanness
But they make me love you more for your faults.
Our relationship assigned forever
The will stamped and signed, never to depart
We ought to love in fair or foul weather
We may retract the heart though cannot part.
Our love is priced more than the world can hold
A vast reservoir, the rivers can’t slake
We have built such secrecy quite controlled
Our manners will overcome if there’s slack.
Let’s us be patient in love while we live
When we’re no more, forever we may live.

Caught a kinship from Ellis Island,
sailed to craggy shores across the pond.
Burnished bayonets shimmered in a bright warm sun,
on a Western Front by dawn.
Surging waves of men in full retreat,
pungent death was everywhere.
Screams from sweet smelling poison gas,
were mere whispers, through burning tears.
The War to end all Wars came to an end,
but the end, would never really come.
While the hearts and souls of military men,
were made of tanks, battleships, and bigger guns.
A kinship sailed from isle and sea,
to Lady Liberty’s beckoning shores.
But Versailles, punished the innocent with a bitter price,
sowing seething hatred, a blinding fear,
- a World at War, once more and near.

From diverse time zones, we gather
knitting words for all soupy friends
united by warmth and laughter
from diverse time zones, we gather
Language of praises, we saunter
beyond hearts, kinship never ends
from diverse time zones, we gather
knitting words for all soupy friends

From Maidum staired beginning
Walk me north to Cairo
But keep your eyes on the pole star
The moon meanders like a whore
From year to year waxing bright
From bed to bed in spans of light
Her cycles wane in short decades
Across the desert of Chaco's memories.
Return to Dashur, Saqqara, and Giza
And mark how each gradual change
Make us more strange.
The more we change the more we differ
So now I understand
The fear of tomorrow
This stranger at the door
Of the comfort zone,
This unknown seducer
This piping enchanter to the precipice
Where the broken pots
Like gullible pilgrims are impaled on faith
Now I understand
Why some would dare appease
The coercion of the sun.
We are mortal,
Something more than mere matter
More than mere Olmec
Toltec, Aztec, Mayan Semites
Change make us strange
The Pueblo came
Wandering from the Euphrates
Driven like sand
Before the rough winds of Gentiles coming
Came with the Nile in their blood
And found the Mississippi
Like a serpent sleeping in the swamps
And from their mound
Made a diagonal across the world
A scatter graph of belongings
We are all the blood of the river
Sperm of the life giver
Obsession of the stalking lover
Kinship
On my knees,
I found the broken pieces
were all about our broken treaties.
So singular,
Less materialistic shrieks.
This was your demanded 'relationship' ,
Where I was dead under
your beloved
'kinship'.

Beneath the cusp of Sagittarius
The archer stands to aim his arrow bold
Poised to reign on heaven's great nebulous
To pierce winter's heart to usher the cold
Early frost kindles blazing hearths inside
Where huddled happy souls snuggle by fire
And speak kindred words of future Yuletides
Festively singing with voices inspired
Thanksgiving supper brings smells to delight
Friends and folks rejoice with good hearts living
The blessings of days with holidays bright
The wondrous festive 'Season of Giving'
Beneath the cusp of Sagittarius
The gift of thanks brings out the best in us

In celestial pristine panorama of nothingness,
primal photon restless in the vacuum milieu,
undefined in the cauldron of infinity.
Explosive singularity of the creation
conceived matter of the God particles,
encrypting the cosmic algorithm of existence,
decoded in the spread of space on time.
Essence of creator’s particles in everything extant,
the universal kinship soul perceives*.

His offer of kinship derided,
by the snobbish bat insulted,
the much humiliated rat said:
"Bat, you're rude, without civility,
I'm glad we don't have affinity.
Skin-winged mouse, your boasts are many.
Feet up, head down, you look stupidly funny.
One day you'll end up flip-flopping down
and crawl with us on earthy ground."
Be tentative with a relative:
Not all critters of the same fur
enjoy huddling together Sir!
All the voices of the ages recognized within our own,
these few words we know, arranged and rearranged,
to shape our hearts that you may know us,
say the things that make life matter,
stay the ash that fires scatter,
make of us a moment to be shared.
this voice, that word, sounds so full and shaped,
forsaken souls misplaced, misspelled, and left for dead:
arise, searching for our own, that somehow
one may know another is; and somehow one
may touch more than this substance known as life,
to breathe the ether of each moment passing
long after silent hours have drowned our ears.
Conflict wages war -
yet the good soldier desires
true kinship, through peace.
When shall people see?
That love and kindness don't make -
a moral man weak.
Unity and grace -
wisdom, guidance, courage, love.
Does, a true man, make!

gathered ‘round the table
smiles match, a kinship
develops in an instant
when Trust makes an entrance
dressed in fiery blue
souls warm then weave together
our differences subside
as Trust sits down to dine
I feel like we could
sing one of those righteous
civil rights anthems.
“We shall overcome”
goes to the pandemic point,
and we could hold hands.
Our kinship is dear, and earned,
with simple sacrifices.
Our struggle isn’t over.
Our way of looking at people traverses
The complex multi-layered perception
Manifested in the myriad motifs
We design for the animated images.
The superficial visual discernment
Transforms transiently into deep sensitivity
Takes symbolic shapes on the mental screen
Our focused inner sight desires to see in people.
The external attributes of appearance per se
Disappear within the meaningless subjectivity
At the hermitage of godly soul of oneness we look
Inspired by the supreme spirit of divine kinship.

The kidhood friends duo in action
Ignited my poetic passion
With twin torrents of hair in pic
Bestows me the joy cascadic
What a way to appear on screen
Well, it's enlightened me umpteen
Inspiring is the bond unique
Between these belles prolific
A wish gushes from heart mine
May their kinship be intact and fine..!!
