Best Jot Down Poems

come taste life ---------- Heart-warming wine
old and stale, ---------- Jot down a line
unflavored, unpolished, --------- Mood changes hue
A sour, dim shade --------- To sweet silver blue
the lowest feeling ---------- How high the cost
eternal gray sky ---------- How much is lost
hollow memories ---------- Back payment due
A sour, dim shade --------- To sweet silver blue
weak limbs, overpower ------- Head shake and sigh
moments of lights -------- None left to deny
everything ends -------- Insight in view
A sour, dim shade -------- To sweet silver blue
torn from reality -------- Somehow I gain
low spirits of sorrow -------- Beauty from pain
bitter and dull, --------- As thoughts turn to you
A sour, dim shade -------- To sweet silver blue
**A deep Look Into The eyes of the Poet Destroyer**
~A Tim Ryerson Collaboration~
I've seen my father in my dreams
and traveled to where, it seems,
he is still composing verse
and, happily, we converse.
His poetry plays in my head.
I wake, in haste, jump out of bed
and quickly jot down what was said.
My father is alive, not dead!
He lives in all my poetry.
He'll always be a part of me.
No one can take away his light
as long as I continue to write.

In a small café, customers stream through the door. I jot down orders that pile up as I wonder what’s happening in the back kitchen. The patrons are looking more and more displeased. I scurry table to table filling glasses running endlessly dry and simultaneously noticing the increasing number of empty napkin holders. Where’s the manager? Why is there nobody here but me? The order slips are almost gone. And now plates of food begin appearing in the back so quickly that I cannot recall to which table each one goes. I’m running and running, the proverbial dumb chicken but with its head still attached and throbbing! I hear the clamor of “Where’s our meal?” and more people keep entering through the door.
Now I find myself in a plain white-walled classroom of my school. The clock on the wall ticks on and on as students trickle through the door. Students sit staring as I search a pile of papers for the attendance sheet. The papers fall and I just know my lesson plan is lost among the scattered sheets. I bend to pick them up and my brain is a fog. What am I to teach? I sift through the disarray as ticking seconds become minutes, and a silence pierces me as I view the stony faces before me. I try to mouth words, but they simply won’t come. I can almost feel the fidgeting of the students as my upper lip begins to twitch. I know they are thinking me an imbecile. As I stand dumb stricken, time is fleeing, and more students are entering the room. . . . .
I awaken to the loud incessant ticking of the clock beside my bed. I’ll rise to greet my day, get into my car and meld with a stream of other people driving to their everyday jobs. There will be days that I encounter the cheerless or dissatisfied faces of strangers or even of family and friends. There will be times that I hasten frantically, feeling all is futile as bills pile up or work overwhelms me, and there are sure to be times when I will feel at an utter loss as I live vicariously the nightmarish woes which sometimes my husband must confront. How grateful I am for ordinary days whose hours of normalcy are heaven compared to the mind boggling misery endured throughout this world. And how thankful I am for ordinary days that greatly outnumber a few awful dreams!
Heart-warming wine
Jot down a line
Mood changes hue
To sweet silver blue
How high the cost
How much is lost
Back payment due
To sweet silver blue
Head shake and sigh
None left to deny
Insight in view
To sweet silver blue
Somehow I gain
Beauty from pain
As thoughts turn to you
To sweet silver blue
As I set out
To jot down this poem
I had no earthly idea
Of what would transpose
And who all would be
Joining along
I'm as surprised as you
To these goings on
I don't recollect
Any of this being nearby
All the glimmer and glamor
Catching my eye
With my mind letting loose
In the wondering why
All of these characters
Are invading my rhymes
There are seals riding trikes
Uniformed Taiwanese
Clowns and their like
With smiley faced knees
Lepords in tights
Like we need more of these
A Kardashian or two
To put our minds at ease
Daryl Hall and John Oates
Singing loud 80's tunes
And what would be a poem
Without a cow jumping over the moon
Or a chimpanzee
Swinging through the stanzas with ease
Using the tails of snakes
Like a flying trapeze
There's even a racoon
By the name of Rocky we know
Using his Boogaloo
To sweep dust from the poem
And look it's Bob Hope
Selling soap on a rope
To keep it all clean
With a rated "G" tone
With so much going on
Inside of this poem
Guess it's best I stop here
As this has gotten rather long...
I've got this awesome idea
To write the greatest of poems
It'll start out nice and easy
Then with a BANG make some noise
It will be widely read
In every coffeehouse in town
Soon to catch on like a wildfire
Then #1 with a bullet nation bound
Writing so amazing
It'll astound everyone
Why it might even get hired killers
To turn in their guns
It'll make the strong want to weep
And the weak to stand strong
There will be waves of applause
This poem will have it all going on
They'll beg me to let them use it
In a Presidential speech
Afterwards they'll fly it straight to the conflict
Where it'll bring peace to the Middle East
Finally coming to rest at the Smithsonian
Taking up it's rightful place
They may have to move that old Shuttle
To give my poem plenty of space
But before any of this can happen
Before it rings true, buckaroo
I suppose I should think up something special
And jot down a line, maybe two...
Every word, sentence and paragraph has three main components. Each one has a beginning, a middle, and an ending. On All Poetry there are two groups specializing in brevity. Pure brevity and brevity. Pure brevity can have as a complete poem only one word. Brevity can have more than one. "There is nothing new under the sun." But just supposing the words won't come, and you do not know what to say? What words, or images or memories pop into your head and/or your heart or mind. Use your God given imaginations
You could say," My mind is a complete blank today. I really don't know what to say. I don't know how to think it. I had a thought lingering in my mind for a few brief moments. Than it slipped away like always. Christians can rely upon Jesus Christ and/or the Holy Spirit for inspirational words and topics. There is always the Bible. And there are free on-line books of the Bible on the internet.
Jews can rely upon the Bible as well for background knowledge and/or information. The Bible is really for everyone. When I was younger I used the Old Testament books of the Bible. Psalms and Proverbs. I still draw upon the bottomless well of knowledge, the Holy Bible!
For example I wasn't sure if the correct word was either earth or world. So I used the word earth. I searched the book of Revelations. Only to come up empty. The correct word I needed was world. I made the necessary changes to my Psalm of Victory! The psalm is to be found on my All Poetry website.
Observational poems are based upon experiences either yours or other people. The full white luminous moon lite up the starry nighttime's sky. Famous poets frequently relied upon nature for inspiration. "Poems were made by fools like me but only God can make a tree." I forget her name, but remember one line of her famous poem.
Avoid having things either too short or too long. Depending upon your composition and/or audience. But there are one word, sentence and line poems. Avoid being verbose and using fourteen letter words. Unless it is recommended. Jot down your thoughts, doddle do art work. Whatever works out best for you and your prospective readers. Pray really works!
Love in Christ Jesus!

Amidst the chitter chatter,
The cool breeze blows,
In the hubbub of life,
Poetry freely flows;
Listen to its sweet murmur,
Reaching you through the din,
As the breeze touches you,
Tingling your skin;
Jot down the soft words,
Slowly as they come,
Smile as it refreshes you,
In this dull humdrum.

Sometimes thoughts pour out from within
Like a fountain of water
At those times I sit with my mobile to jot down the matter
Anything can overwhelm me emotionally
Beauties of nature, inspirational quotes, articles, poem's, day-to-day acts...
sufferings, social issues, movie, song...
At those times poem flows from within
A beauty gets created by Gods grace
I am not my poem's author...
Similar thing happened today
so I wrote a poem.
Teacher, shall I write a sonnet? Must I?
When I’m not so sure of my poetry…
Shall I write a poem of fourteen lines?
In iambic pentameter –by me?
What shall I write about? What can I say?
In this sonnet which I must jot down now?
My sonnet should be about what today?
To write a great sonnet I’m not sure how…
Teacher, can I write this sonnet later
For I’m not sure of what to write about?
The teacher then takes my simple paper
And “you already did.” my teacher shouts.
‘Detention’ my teacher says, ‘for lying,’
‘But thank you,’ she adds, ‘for at least trying.’

Often I had crossed her path. She had been on my mind; a natural beauty some might say. These thoughts of her came and went. Did she think of me, and if so, what was the meaning of this transcendence? With no voice to inspire me, all inner direction was lost. Restless visions materialized. My meditation grew weak. Unfinished poems I had thought had promise were discarded and I retreated. I breathed deeply, and in doing so, I tried to conjure up something to jot down, but she was too evasive to stir creative juices. Embattled for words, I had nothing to say. It was the height of frustration; an abrupt halt to what had just begun. I walked about lost in a fog of notions.
Searching for something, what was it I sought? I remembered a postcard from long ago, a picture of a beautiful visage painted on a bridge made of stone. I had been stricken. A muse, who was she? A muse is a gift, is it not? Why was it that I could not make her my very own? Feminine, glowing, naked for all to see, I was sure she wouldn’t have minded helping me continue my novel’s journey. I waited under the pass and listened to the silence, a hollow echoing resonated and took on a foreboding and haunting mood. I left the tunnel in a scurried urgency.
A lady I saw once on a granite arch came to me in a dream one night. An oak tree was present, sprouting from it were branches twisted and gnarled. An obscure figure appeared. Her body was painted pink, her hair raven. There she was seated, in between her legs the genus specie; what a presentation. I saw myself trekking towards her, what would I find? Why she beckoned me, I had no explanation. Then she cried, whispering something softly in my mind. She told me all her long-held secrets, grim and bright. A gift for you, she mused—you will recognize me in time. Now I patiently sit at my typewriter and write.
New Free Verse -YEAR
We are all gathered here
For what it's worth
It won't hurt
Let's just call this Free Verse
Dust off some dirt
Convert in my converse
My mini blue jean skirt
Topless with no shirt
Rocking & rolling
Bodies crashing
Everybody's growling
I am just laughing
While (TPS) keeps on scoring
They keep on graphing
Overrun by their staffing
Pulling and strolling
What they got cooking & dashing
Noising up this summer
Crashing up my hummer
Bashing heads like a hammer
In and out like a plumber
Pounding bodies of armor
Jot down like a drummer
Moshing up this poetry pit
P.D. Came and took the glamour
Then the Soup turned around
Slammed us- out of a form
Chopping my grammar
This new free verse bumming form

Writing poem all begins
Observing world around
Poem can be anything
As long as you enjoy it
Be a reader
Read poems aloud
Poetry is meant to be read aloud
Use your senses
mouth
Ears
As well as brains
To process words of a poem
Using senses make poetry meaningful
Jot down words or phrases you read
Which are appealing, puzzling
Unique or powerful
Use fresh imagery
Showing reader something in a way
He or she
Has not considered before
Use nouns and verbs than adjectives
Ensure every word has a purpose
Tell not the reader how to feel
Let the words draw out
Emotions directly
Without explaining
Use dramatic
Emotional words

In the small town of Campbell Missouri,
A young girl with lovely brown locks
Sits, having been told she might never walk again
As all aknowledge this belief in town,
A fear swept around,
And many children were kept down
But in the spirit of this child,
Desire to walk snuck over her fears
Perhaps she wished to surprise-
Perhaps she could not stand
The judgmental eyes-but all the same,
She picked herself up, smiled,
And sauntered around the room
Happiness pervaded the house
As the family friend, delighted,
Sang merrily the song,
“Have You Ever Seen a Dream Walking?”
Today, at California Mission Inn,
The same girl, now a woman
Walks her glorious walk
With confidence and grace
She is 91 years old and strong
As song,
Her eyes lighting up as she recalls
She hums the dreamy tune
As I jot down miracles
YACKETY-YACK
This broken pencil was just a nub – no longer usable.
I wanted to jot down the amount of this playbill dated September 08, 2001.
However, I decided to save the amount in my contacts of my cell phone.
These bifocal glasses are working to well.
I am observing a pigeon dropper slight of hands.
I am now walking down the street of angst.
Somebody had deliberately ticked me off.
Muscle spasms occurred.
I call my husband for him to come pick me up.
Disgusted by my lack of control, I begin to analyze my reasons.
Via conclusion, I derived that I am not going to be cheated out of a good life.
