Humankind

How oft’ have you been told, to not
rock the boat!
Just go along as an obedient, mute
billy goat.
Just chew on the green, fresh, cud,
Or smile always , be it in rain or in
thick mud.
This may be peachy keen for goats
you see.
But we are special, we are humanity.
When our brothers freedom and rights
are being stolen.
We must stand as one, for tis the God of
the Universe to which we are beholden!
The Social Security system
Is struggling to find a sound rhythm
If Grandpa survives
Past Age 65
Will Feds send a posse to kill him?

Falling
Into him,
Mysterious
Insight embracing
Feelings, exciting hearts
Flames in bold scarlet, rising
Like the morning startling the night
Freeing the soul from its darkness, love
Erasing all worries, the tears destroyed
By winds of yesterday’s grace, subsiding
Providing the nerve and strength needed
The dream traps doubt in its clutches
Freeing the mind to believe,
Feeling beyond our grasp,
Light falling softly,
Pleading whispers
Insights, stars
Twinkling
Fears
"Double Jeopardy"
Behind the clouds
the sky is always blue
the rain leaves
love returns
like an Ocean
to kiss your shores
washing mind
and heart clean
you write your
messages in the sands
they dissolve
double jeopardy
a new life begins

Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy
I live and die with these shows
Must now be classified as a senior citizen
Only old people watch them, you know
Pat, Vanna, and Alex Trebek
Are like members of my immediate family
So familiar are the faces of these TV friends
Like branches on my own family tree
Why do I not get tired of these shows
Guess I'm trying to solve the puzzles as well
Or maybe it's Vanna, love that old gal
She's a sweetie, still under her spell
If a weeknight goes by without these shows
Seems like something's missing, I fear
Wander around with a blank look on my face
Hope they're here for thirty more years

No One Loses At "Strip Jeopardy!"
by Rick Rucker
My late wife and I used to play it with glee,
Saying "No one loses at 'Strip Jepoardy!'"
Answer a question right, then you see,
You don't have to shed clothes, you are covered completely!
Answer it wrong, your clothes you take off,
Too many wrong, and the last garment you doff.
This is where the Fun can begin,
The winner gets to play with the newly-exposed skin!
How long a time is decided at the start,
Remembering always to be kind to your heart!
Right at first,
You might only want to tantalize your thirst!
Work up to longer,
When you're feeling stronger.
Final Jeopardy is really a Blast,
That is why they save it for last!
I would most often win,
She would be covered in only her skin!
I would be generous in my win,
After a little playing, her massage would begin!
Now I'll give you a game-winning plan,
From me, to you, just man-to-man.
For The Final, bet everything,
Then, the buzzer, don't even ring!
The worst that could happen is, you both don't have a stitch,
But the sight of each other will start an itch!
That can only be scratched by the other,
Now you can commence to smother
Each with kisses,
Both for Mister and the Missus!
Give it a shot, and you will see,
No one loses at "Strip Jeopardy!"
Nothing I like more than a good Jeopardy show
The clues, many complex, on that answer board,
Two challengers trying to make the champion go
Betting in final what they think they can afford.
Jeopardy, in case you don’t know, is a trivia game
Given answers, players respond with a question,
For many years Mr. Alex Trebec hosted the same
Now avid watchers tune in each day with passion.
Particularly entertaining is a long-running champ
And excitement builds as challengers get tough
Some, like Ken Jennings, could’ve set up camp
But in the end, for him, too, the going got rough!
Such a pleasure to see the old records fall away
As new players arrive on the scene with clout
I love to see young people get excited to play
More when one of them takes a champion out.

Washington in flux
Stimulus dollars squandered
Corporate big wigs laugh --
Ignorant approach rebuked
Voters cast out incumbents
caffeine circles my brain, loaded, laughing. i jolt upright in my sleep…
lessness. the ride through time….woke up in pea-thick fog, drank two
cups, went to church to pray and praise. chomped a burger, fries and
freed some more caffeine from an ice cold cup. worked a Sunday after
jet-lagged Saturday. arrived back home to hugs and laughter,
and the napster who’d snooze before my return. promissory playdough
date kept him rather late. downed a fluffy cup of mud
and set out to take grands home.
a rather wakeful day followed by a restless night…of this i write.
seems i’ll be hitting the snooze button, like a jeopardy contestant.

Why can't she see her love is not for me
Not when I gave all mine willing and free
To what degree should I have to plea
I want a love that is your guarantee
That comes with your personal honesty
I can't take another love jeopardy
That still lives in recent memory
Like a sinful documentary going off all around me
When this is all about living our dream
Time and again it's looking more like a scheme
One without empathy pointed right at thee
A theme that deceives my heart with sensuality
Taking advantage of a guy who is open and free
Like a wind on a spending spree
You dig your daggers deep into my soul
Making our life impossible to grow
All the treachery I can foresee is coming to be
The more I see your motive is all about money
Instead of about the love, I give so freely
This is certainly not my first rodeo
Your approach has me going whoa
In light of what has come to show
The kind of love that does not grow
The more I come to know
I won't let you in control of my soul
Taking advantage of the honorable love I give to thee
Willing with my love guarantee
When this is not what you claim it to be
Not when I can foresee another love jeopardy
Going off deep inside of me
With nothing but hurt that will come to be
Just like the one in my recent memory

Tonight my daughter will be on Jeopardy
OH, how exciting that will be!
It's not easy to be an invited guest
but for a long time it's been her quest.
Tune in and watch my daughter play
As for the results I cannot say
It was taped a few months ago
and she did win a little dough.
I'm just a Mom, proud of her young
fulfilling a dream. Her song is sung
Please forgive me for boasting
but this poem needed posting

Whenever I get
the Final Jeopardy
question right,
I have to call
my father
even though
he’s been gone
a long time,
And he always
offers the same reply:
"So, you’re good
at this?"
