Life in Short

We’re born; we learn.
We grow; we thrive.
We mourn; we yearn
And so, survive.

We strive; we nest.
We laugh; we cry.
Alive, we’re stressed,
Then lo! We die.

Premium Member Bio In Short

It's been a good run
To the back side of sixty,
The short side of time.

First Hollywood kiss
Behind a pink crepe myrtle.
Thanks, Patsy Werner.

High school was okay.
Didn't help me to focus;
So, my mind wandered.

Surfed Bonzai Pipeline,
Big waves break into lava.
What made me do it?

Vietnam jungles.
I wondered why I was there.
America lost.

Smoking pot. Stereo.
Good fun in the seventies.
Psychedelics too.

And three wives later,
I finally found true love.
We're still together.

My destitute heart,
Saved by the sweetest angel.
I love you, Sandy.

Sooners are my team.
Most winning football program
In the Modern Era.

I am retired now.
But I have plenty to do.
Golf, primarily.

I've been writing more.
Perhaps I will write a book.
I have many tales.

I'd chase young girls; but,
Girls with a "grampa" fetish
Are so hard to find.

If I am lucky,
I will just drop dead one day.
With my peace of mind.

Yes, made a good run
To the back side of sixty,
The short side of time.

A man without a job
Had scarce to fill his gob
Scanning the press did See
Much work in jeopardy..'
So his pack; on back did lob.

He'd take train to short supply
Where time; was stacked up high.'
As a man of Limerick town
He was never feeling down
For t'was surely worth the try!

Premium Member A Farewell in Short-Writ Song

This song, which flows and beats,
     must throb with iambic stress
to this line and repeat
     the measure, more or less.

This song has lines and rows
     that move with good meter,
to feet of highs and lows
     that's nice, tight, and neater.

It, too, must be short-writ
     with not so lengthy rhyme,
so restless ears can hear it
     in notes which shorten time.

     (Albeit, nonetheless!)
This brief song now must end
     with a farewell address:
"Adieu! May we part, friend?"
     I ask—so, please, nod “Yes!”

Life In Short Definition

Life is short in long therms how its go always from us dipends
View the way you see, hear and feel, love and your will
What is important to be seen its how beautiful and happy you are in
Life is short defenition to say but so hard to explain
Heart is from flash and blood but make feelings to the god
Feelings what can be shown and can even more to grown
Grown from some inch to the stars Oh i feel so high ... that is the power of the life
Love is thing what we cant see but have a power like a thousand kings
Did you ever seen how life is mean when you turn from that bean

Premium Member In Short-Cooking Is Not Her Sport

Joan’s spouse requests surf and turf.
Bob’s stature and beard - a smurf.
In short, she plays cute,
Puts on a wet suit.
She climbs iron board to surf.

Bob tells her to get on down.
His ask, does not make her frown.
She winks as he guides
And rolls with the tides.
She’s hot off the plate, his clown.

My Life In Short

I have tears that I have not shed, pain that I have not felt and memories that I anticipate,
will haunt me in my slumber. From the neck up, I am paralyzed comprehending nothing
only seeing gray images that stare through me. Facing myself in a mirror and not
recognizing the characters that become apparent with each blink.
My indignities hidden with lies and this made me numb to embarrassments past and present.
I have feelings, as if I am under surveillance, constantly looking over my shoulder
wondering if the person coming up behind me is a merchant of Death. Fearing my life is on
the verge of extinction, I consider planning my last breath so not to give satisfaction to those
that forecast my demise.
My Hands shake when I try to raise my hopes, and my loyalty is not with Gods, but green
papers with presidents. Left with the misfortunes that always end my dream, and
nightmarish figures that stork the corners of my reality peddling insanity, I pause to pause.
I make the choice each day to keep my sanity, but the obsession to indulge in the madness
takes over my mind and body. I become a junkie needing a fix of stupidity to stop the
voices of reason, so to intensify my incentive to fail.
I have a phobia to sounds I do not recognize, and tense in terror when surrounded in
darkness and silence. Through this thickness, I fight my way soaked in perspiration from
hostile thoughts. Fragments of images from deep in my psyche, challenges me for control of
my actions and dialog.
If only I would cry, then maybe the hurting will start and the image in the mirror will be
recognizable. My numbness will pass along with my paranoia, and thoughts of suicide will
change to memories of happier times. I will become comfortable in my surroundings and
myself. My grip on life will become steady and the only fix I will need is the one from
God.////

In Short By Vera Polozkova Translation

I've come to old man Berber who's grey-haired and skinny
To solve problems that I'm tortured with.
"I see, my son, that through you beams hot light as you breathe
But you are not his owner, silly.

Dread muddy waters and medals for your own labor,
Guard the dragon, dove and rose flower.
You see, all these people around you... how they tower
Hells, show it may not be so. Savior.

Remember that no foreign war, vicious talk of you,
Greedy as she-wolf evil illness -
Nothing scarier than prison of your head's stillness
Would ever ever happen to you."

Me : In and Out In Short

Have you ever felt not wanting anything new,
coz' the flashback of old memories gives a lot of pleasure to you,
that pleasure is incomparable to what you see in front of you,
The place where you once were is now filled with many like you.

Accepting the present is the biggest challenge for you,
Being surrounded by many is like surrounded by few,
of whom you know well and many of whom you don't wanna know,
Why is the apparent cloud of happiness showering depressive rain on you?

And then comes the want of getting new friends,
little over a lot happiness seems better than a lot sadness,
You try befriending everyone around you,
but why does the look of them comprise the most unfriendly hue.

Still now I'm wondering what the missing part really was,
Was it my beauty and personality that was the prime cause,
of this unknown hostility and hatred and jealousy,
Seems like I'm done with this want of making friends surely....

I drop all my expectations,
even the idea of creating memories,
People now call me boring and useless,
but make sure that they take advantage of my innocence.
I start taking stands for myself,
but failure becomes the ultimate achievement,
I spend nights crying and questioning life,
creeping into the shadows of depression.

Why do the words of people
stab me so easily?
Why do I feel like crying
everyday and all the time?
Why do I repeat my errors
when I've committed them priorly?
Why am I so foolish
unlike a lot many?

These questions ring in my head,
weeping seems the only therapy,
But practically it's not the solution,
of how I should be living.

That's when I fake my smile,
hold back my tears,
Pretend to be absolutely well,
Step back from sharing my problems,
control my agitation,
Bear all the toxic people,
Coz' that's all my life is meant to be,
And there comes the end of this story....

What truly sets my quill to grin?
A limerick with an end spin!

I rhyme by couplets, A and A,
Two lines’ integral interplay.
One finished thought,
One moral taught,
With the fifth line - a final say!

I like it plain,
And concrete,
Good old quatrain -
Short and sweet.

In short, I've

I've loved half-faded flowers
on the better side of the road
and left my smile surrendered
in the heart of an untouched daisy

I've stared at the honey-moon
felt liquid stars drip their dreams
into the pupil of my eyes
and melted like lemon drops of sunlight

I've known love to burn inside the glow of
my wild fire and slowly drown deeper
into the marrow of my bones,
I've known time that moved
in slow motion for you and I
