Best Honeymoon Poems
Listen to the song at the link above on youtube. Sorry I can't figure out any way to put the song tune in this box
Just as the moon rises each night
and even as snow is caressed by its light,
then glowing, I'll rise, becoming your dawn,
your curved sleeping form to smile upon.
With eyes like bright stars, I then will embrace
the landscape of you, each small line on your face.
And surely you’ll mirror my worshiping glow,
for I am your moon and you are my snow.
I’ll keep shining down with each breath you take.
May I blaze in your dreams before you awake.
And softly I’ll whisper, “Keep sleeping, my dear.”
Your faithful beloved, I’ll always be here.
What matters most – advice for the bride and groom:
Indulging in sweet wine; a picnic for two;
a plethora of stars; myriads of blooms!
Listen; believe; do something new.
Alone – entwined – evening delight!
Words so meaningful . . . a silken wait;
Splendid isolation into the dark of night.
Connection of affection -
Always and forever – in the moment – CELEBRATE!

A gondola floats o’er romantic tides
as you and I caress Venetian skies
laced deftly in exalted stars applied
by brushes dipped in hues of lover’s eyes.
A kiss beneath Rialto Bridge in spring
feels like our first so many years ago.
On every breeze, O Sole Mio sings
a serenade in city lights aglow.
This hope of love rekindled miles from home,
could be our chance to dream and reminisce.
Enlightened by a full moon’s wink, we’d roam
down Grand Canal in gleaming nights of bliss.
Our renaissance, a second honeymoon -
to Venice, we could not escape too soon.

Fly me to the moon
And let me play the stringed tunes,
The nod-nod head of a lover’s hoot
Let me dance among the stars
The tap-tap feet of a chivalrous heart...
When my gaze beheld you-my spouse
In our heart true passions doused
Draped like silk, a face with love soused
A new home in you I found.
I saw in you a beautiful wife
A flashy rectitude that brought new life,
That ravished me with sapphire eyes so fine
Fitted in your pearl socket, not of swine
You have triggered the jubilee of sunshine valentine
Now torch me with the kisses of your lip so bright
And swing me with the noontide delight I delight
Tangoing the tango of moonlight
I woo you with a honey tongue
Like silly doves we coo this carol song
In the sonority of your voice is compassion
Borne in a roomy heart for sacred fun.
… Fly us to the (honey) moon
Play us the bedroom tunes
In a solitary nook,
Let’s twirl this ballet as David in jolly mood
And wreathe in celestial honeymoon cocoon.
Prince Agba.
Dedicated to those who are facing diverse marital squalls in their homes, may God
mend your broken hearts and homes.
POET'S HONEYMOON
Pretend we're on a poet's honeymoon
Let's dance atop the Massifs on the moon
We'll get our fill of Milky Way's champagne
Behind a chariot of stars, the twain
Each star a stepping stone of Heaven's rune
That leads down to a luminous lagoon
And when Andromeda begins to wane
We'll take our muses to another plane
Riding on the shooting star, we will croon
Rhapsodying together, hearts in tune
Lost in love, our muses will not complain
As we set foot in Sombrero's domain
Each planet, we'll decorate with festoon
And get drenched in Saturn's diamond monsoon
Once heights of passion with words, we attain
Back to earth, where we can pretend again.

Wedding wines - rather champagne shines
and bubbly breakout of blushing bride.
Groom with giant heart, gracious, grateful - grips
her hand with his handsome wholeness. Helps
his lovely lady into limousine, longing for her lips.
Laps leaping, longing, leaving the crowd’s “so long!”
Cans chiming cheers. Crowd chuckles at car’s rear.
“Honeymoon here we come!” Coreen casts a shameless
glance at Glen. His green anticipation, Gable-debonair.
Goosebumps and gorgeous view - grand peaks
of her bosom buddies, brimming with lace and brouhaha.
His eyes - riveting, reveling, robust, ruddy and willing.
~
Throbbing thirst, thistles ‘neath terrycloth, while he waits.
Anticipation hurts - artfully, agonizingly. Her appearance
in nascent negligée, nearly naughty, nearly a no-no,
but not, for they’ve tied the knot and into a knot they go.
Get’m tiger! Tongues tangoed, trip to Timbuktu, tipsy
and top-see and no toodaloo - a forever frou-frou.
Silk surrender, sliding, suspend her, satisfaction in space.
Stirring, sipping, inhabiting each other, sensational and sweet.

ripples of water torture accepted
the wrinkle of time descending
mannahly marantic romance
torticollis dribs and drabs of syringe
honey’d seeds remain; cakes fade away
dawn will erase; placidity will forget
but the depths release their seamonsters
reflected in the honeymoon, between palms
with firework stars overhead; eternal bliss

My best friend just had
her wedding ceremony
She's as hap-hap-happy
as a new bride can be
What's her groom's name, you say
Why, it's John P. Marconi
We suspect she doesn't know
the 'P's for Parsimony
How many couples on honeymoon, read poetry aloud
or novels to each other?
Some do consider that a highly, loving, memorable treasure.
On a honeymoon, dare you say?
My unforgettable memory, that I would unflinchingly repeat,
just bring me back to that day!
Cable car bells ringing in the San Francisco night, oh
so softly heard.
The background to us, newlyweds, such sweet, tender,
young love birds.
Surrounded by the City's etereal gauze-like moist fog.
How I watched your eyes dance over the words.
Making my heart shine like glowing embers on a log!
I really was so complete with you.
More than any of the finest words can say!
Simply just we two, our love-ghosts still reading can be
heard, over forever our ~City by the Bay.

Poem # 1271
Is the honeymoon over
I’ll tell you what gives me a hunch
When I leave for work in the morning
She hands me my luggage instead of my lunch
Is the honeymoon over
What’s happening doesn’t make sense
When I put my arms around her
It’s strictly in self defense
Is the honeymoon over
While my heart is put through the wringer
When I come home I get no smile
Instead I get the finger
Is the honeymoon over
I can’t understand what she feels
When I said that I might leave her
She started doing cartwheels
Is the honeymoon over
Will I find my life in a rut
She said she wasn’t losing her best friend
She was losing a pain in the butt
Now I know the honeymoon’s over
And staying together would be too hard
When I tried to cut the grass I found
She planted land mines in my back yard
Just for fun
NO!! Don’t shoot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With a snakelike hiss, the train doors close
the engine rocks and rumbles on clicking
over welded metal couplings: iced, glazed, froze,
the steam heat in clouds arose, rail licking.
On velvet we sit, lace behind our heads,
stewards bring tea for the clock is ticking.
High tea at five, we're fed like thoroughbreds
for dinners late (at eight) in formal dress.
A honeymoon for two not quite purebreds.

Now the wedding had drawn to a close the ceremony past
We found ourselves together and thankfully alone at last
We packed our bibs and bobs into suitcases very quickly
Rushed straight out the door though I felt a little sickly
The shining taxi was waiting to whisk us away
Airport then plane our trip was finally underway
On the plane to his charms I was not immune
This was going to be our magical honeymoon
Coughing and spluttering in the hotel I did lay
Could not get out of bed each and every day
To cruise rugged fiords our plan said next
So out of my sick bed I raised perplexed
This is not what I was thinking to expect
Romance and passion seemed to disconnect
On a small ship along the rugged coast we then did sail
Reveling in the sweet air with every breath we inhaled
At last I thought my dream has finally come true
Our honeymoon would be joyous and not blue
At the Close of the day to the hotel we wandered
Through this night our love would not be squandered
It was wishful thinking we were soon to realize
The honeymoon room had a bed but only single size
This is not what we expected when we happily set out
Dreams of intimate passion is what we thought about
The journey continued at a sedate pace
The wonderful views put a smile on our face
Sadly food poisoning hit me I was constantly sick
Sat hours in the toilets, hubby didn't take the Mick
I can now look back at my honeymoon from hell
Twenty four years married we are doing quite well
Fly me to the moon
Play us the bedroom tunes
The nod-nod head of lovers’ hoots
Let’s twirl this tango as David in jolly mood
And coil in celestial honeymoon cocoon.

The sweet fragrance of tall palms swaying in the breeze,
brought continuous harmony into our hearts,
The smell of contentment spread as far as the eye can see,
This was our anticipated honeymoon, we were never apart.
We had been through way too much as a young adults. Our vows were made and we stepped off the plane quickly entering a world of tranquility and peace. Kauai was our paradise. This was our destination far away from the life we left behind. It was on the other side of the world. Our honeymoon was anticipated for months, and we were finally there. We couldn't unpack fast enough, for all we wanted to do was dip our toes in the soft sands of the Pacific ocean. It had streaks of cerulean and light green. I saw beauty in each pebble as the waters floated up amicably. The warm breeze showered a gentle mist through my body. I had never felt that way before. The tides gently flowed up to my knees tickling my legs....
sweet scents of palm trees
tender mist sprays through my soul
peaceful Kauai
On a tour we drove around the massive volcano Mauna Loa. It has a peak reaching almost three miles high. They have been formed over the last seventy million years. To see the eruption of lava was an amazing sight for sore eyes. I witnessed the red flow of the volcano dripping down into a hole to the core of the earth. As we drove up to the cliff, my stomach dropped to the ground. The depth of the Waipoo Falls was entrancing. I was hypnotized feeling a sense of magical desperation longing to fly freely into the blue. I saw such tender beauty in Kauai. We deserved this honeymoon after all we had been through. There we were, on an island created only for love. The intimacy was delicate and our passion for each other drove my mortality crazy.

honeymoon island
Believing we can share such a deep desire for a vacation
Engulfed into the magic an island can freely give
Nature so beautiful, bringing natural elation
Watching the warm waters is so seductive.
