Once upon a happenstance
I gazed, a look, and paused in trance

To dream upon a crystal palace
Her heart aglee and form to chalice

With towers true and field in view
I set a course to give tongue to

I crossed the field - anxiety smote
And walked upon this palace mote

Yet, as I firmed, my heart to pour
She drew the bridge and bolted door

Vanishing vestige of dank cavernous lobes
   My lonesome forsaken heart adrift
Under the most alluring midnight crescent moon
Towards a horizon yonder daubed with
A loaded paintbrush of golden luminescence
               While levitating melodic whispers
Of charm and sorcery perchance connive
Mingling heavenward to set the stage
For a divine encounter with a goddess

Her wafting cloud ever so sublimely hovers
                     Peculiarly fine exotic spicy fragrance
                  Ensnaring my compliant heart
               By glorious happenstance
            Spellbound and mesmerized
Flutters on the wings of dusk
      Reawakening a drowsing lust
   Rekindling and resuscitating the passion
To a sublime apogee of celestial folly

By happenstance, we lock our eyes
as I see her on the winding stairs
as whispers float around the room.
Well-known and beautiful, at that moment,
her dark brown eyes are fixed on me.

The smell of roses is wafting through the air,
and I take one, breathing in its scent-
          feeling flutters never known before.
My normal world appears so dark and dank
compared to this space where I am now.

This powerful attraction- is it truth or folly?
Perchance it is a dream- but as I daub
my cheek with dewy petals of the rose,
I know for sure a dream it's not- for now
she stands before me, our eyes still locked-

her hands accept my offered rose-
and I feel Cupid's arrow bind our hearts.

Under the spell of Autumn and twilight
we encounter a pair of deer

their delicate forms
in soft shades of grey
poised for flight
a still life

We linger, transfixed until instinct
overtakes, and they flee.

All we take is a memory.

Happenstance

Beyond the Moon, way afar
Beyond a million, million stars
Is there an end, is it finite
I pondered on this thought tonight.

Could it all be happenstance
Countless galaxies there by chance,
A random event, out of the blue
Creating all, me and you.

As I gazed upon the milky way
So glorious in its display,
Surely there I saw design
Created thus, by one divine.

Happenstance Hazards

Expectation's misdemeanors
     outflanking volition
infringed upon experience's
       self-imposed options,
griping on about whirlwind's
      imposing velocity to
  which atmospheric pressure
     has naught resolving power
  whence high tide pressure rises
       persuading tendencies,
universe hardly questions 'why'
   to phenomenons' meddle,
psychobabble' s deliberations
 deluding prospective trespasses,
conclusive interpretation hence life
is but a crapshoot game of chance

Split Wide Open

The world of God’s miraculous,
 Imbedded deep with creation’s love,
Split wide open
With the lightning of grace
Fragile shells of human bondage
Cannot contain their foolishness,
Nor feathers in the whirlwind
Neither dandelion seeds
Of crystal puffs - dizzy imbedded joy -
Uncontrollable laughter explodes,
On paths of effervescence,
Yearns to burst through
Frozen crusts of icy shame
Freezing clods of unexplainable remorse,
Floods in the wilderness of unworthiness,
Little bits of serendipity,
Untamed marvels – let loose -
In mystical coincidence grow
No fruitless plains,
No impotent fertility,
Wandering hearts harvest wonder
In seeds redeemed from Eden’s scandal,
Shattered pieces of providence’ paradise,
A universe split wide open,
Plans and diagrams dissolve in astonishment
When eternal compassion bewilders logarithms
Astounds in surprises to marvel
At the fertile unbound universe
When two weary unsuspecting paths
Link outside astral planes
And touch the fingertip of brimming joy!

Happenstance

Positively, every day we lay to waste one more chance.
Though the sun doth rise and meet us in yellow gold.
Will your great revival begin today? Only by happenstance?

By all great men, in awe, we've be moved to muse and trance.
When the musician's fingers flitter, to make our souls seem whole.
Positively, every day we lay to waste one more chance.

And as the boats stay moored, afloat of our chance,
over a wanting light on black screams, a shadow folds.
Will your great revival begin today? Only by happenstance?

They cry, they all cry! A guff, their ***** parlance.
A beckoning light so bright as to seem to take hold.
Positively, every day we lay to waste one more chance.

The athlete, his body strong against the crushing weight, his defiance.
Thou vile villain, thou interrupting season of cold.
Will your great revival begin today? Only by happenstance?

To want for is not to waste, to keep held high the the chin and dance.
And yet as I lie, the shadows creep and their time still known.
Positively, every day we lay to waste one more chance.
Will your great revival begin today? Only by happenstance?

Premium Member A Happenstance Dance

There once was a girl who thought she could dance,
but she seemed more like a girl in a trance;
when the dancers went swirling,
she was uncontrolled whirling;
her final grand leap was quite happenstance !

By Happenstance

By happenstance a glance may say
we humans saw the light of day
in universe’s vast expanse
to personate our song and dance
within a fleeting earthly stay.

At night black velvet sky array
stelliferous with appliqué
might seem to firmament enhance
by happenstance.

Yet ‘midst the starry overlay
concomitantly underway
cause and effect their course advance
encompassing in nexus trance
connections cosmic, not at play
by happenstance.

Premium Member What We Need Is Love

Love is sharing a bowl of spaghetti
Not just for some, but Tom, Dick or Harry.

Remember the night is made for romance
No turning one's back on happenstance.

Whilst the world's out of tune, love, shield, protect
Tomorrow's uncertain, hope for the best.

Share music, poetry, what're preferred art
By any means, if you are kept apart.

Love grows lovelier quenched by love's showers
Years seem like days and days seem like hours.

Now more than ever before, life - it's tough
Lockdown isn’t cushy, what we need is love.

Journey To Happenstance Lane

Once a sitting target,
A scapegoat, an easy mark,
Pushed and over, merged as one,
Chiseled free of bark.

The root of cruel suffering,
Wraps its vine and log,
A pigeon, a stooge,
An injured underdog.

Behind its face an easy make,
A casualty of dreams,
A martyr, a victim.
A fatality it seems?

Prey to stay and pray to go,
A wretch cures her dawn,
A fool, for long awaiting,
An arm’s length to her pawn.

An unexplained adventure lurks,
A light from the sky,
No plan, no theme or government,
Or answers as to why.

The journey to the nearby land,
Unknown and dark with fear,
Free from the mossy grasp,
She cloaks herself with sheer.

Her flesh is bare, exposed and dry,
Vulnerable to the elements too,
She takes her cross and pulls it down,
And carries it right through.

The webs, the depths, the overgrowth,
Doesn't stand a chance,
She walks on down that narrow path,
The one he calls happenstance.
