We live
what the Spirit-mind
shapes and forms

that which
comes before
the chicken
and the egg

Soulful-creations --

think long enough
(knead, mold)
deep enough
adds ripple to
a universe of
transverse-realities --

Will is the Traveling-force

and Love

God's Blessed Purifier --

Premium Member I Cannot Stand Poetic Forms - For Contest

I cannot stand poetic forms
I like them less than winter storms
they force me into ancient norms
of rhyming words in angry swarms
for I was frightened by Haiku
in darkened rooms -- I cried --- boo hoo.

Then came the metronomic tick
sez I: “what is this evil trick?”
now I must measure every rhyme
with tapping stick of metered time
I cannot…. will not, …..won’t ….I say
be forced inside the lines…..to stay.

For I shall dance….the poet’s dance
of shaggy hair….. of tattered pants
dance with those….. in tie and tails
rap with those….. released from jails
free demon words from fear’s cold cell
sing hymns resounding angels bell.

My crayons stray outside the lines
my words creation redefines
I am free to choose my words
soothing balm or cutting swords
to calm the hearts of troubled souls
as shovels digging dying’s holes.

And yet the verse is never Free
for it remains a part of me
wandering a poets hell
secrets it has yet to tell.

Again, you gave writing a go;
In shame you now hang your head low.
You once had a sonnet
Or two in your bonnet;
Now limericks are all that you know.

Love Comes In Many Forms

Love comes in many
shapes and sizes
In many forms
and devices.

But love that is
certain and never a fad
Is the love that I
got forever from dad.

You taught me to love and
to fight for my right
You took me in and
kissed me goodnight.

~Angels Come In Many Forms~
( Contemporary American Sonnet )

Angels come and then they just go
They come and help us as we grow
They take as many forms and shape
as day and night in awe just gape

Angels are always around us
They're not only to help but bless
So many angels are sent from above
From Heavenly Father with love

And any time that you need a friend
Ask God one of his angels send
Because He has created them all
And He'll hear and answers your call

Angels can be just 'bout anyone
Who walks today under the sun.

Weaving Forms- a Parody

Weaving Forms

Abc, Abecedarian, acrostic, alliteration alexandrine
Salaam, sehraa senyru, sestina, sijo, shape, sonnet
The list of forms of writing poesy is hopelessly endless
O angels of all these poetic forms I worship thee blindly!
When didst thou all give an audience to man to school him
On these plethora of poetic forms to befuddle the muddlehead?
Never had I heard such scary terms before joining Poetry Soup
Life and poetry were much easier with no tensions no insomnia
Simply pouring out my uncontrollable thoughts and emotions
I cringe when I read of restrictions of limited lines in poetic forms
My ice-creams don't melt, autumn strolls have to to be cut short
Get mad as a hornet whether to write señorita a sonnet or sonetto
Nayda, I enjoy weaving my prosaic didactic and euphoric thoughts
Into my qasida with alliterations, imageries, allusions humorously

Contest: Which Is Your Favourite Form Of Poetry?
Sponsor: Nayda Ivette Negron)

*This poem is a satiric amalgamation of many forms-sonnet, qasida, acrostic (in parts-eg, line 1&2, 3-5, 6&7-for the purpose of parody), humour....
*Qasida (weaving) is a satirical Persian form, opens with a short prelude, the nasib, which is elegiac in mood and is intended to gain the audience’s involvement
* in this parody I have used the alliteration in the first two lines as a 'nasib'
* In the last line the pun is used for weaving
*Have given 'Shape' or 'Creative Outlay' to the poem
*Have made use of many literary devices-alliteration, allusions, imageries, metaphors....

Angels In Many Forms

God blesses us with angels
Not thinking of fluffy wings or mystical flying things
I'm thinking of those who help you beyond measure
The life changing, life saving acts each selfless soul brings

Could be that aunt who always highlights the positive side of chaos
Wanting you to see that there is always a light
Or the uncle who praises you, but will not sugar coat a major misstep
Initially angry, you do your best to correct, for you know good and well he's right

Or the friend who keeps in touch thru years and miles
seems to instinctively call when you really need to vent
The pal who centers you, knows what to say to bring you back to yourself
when life has taken hold, making you forget where your true self went

Those strangers...who defend you when you're unjustifiably attacked
unapologetically righting what's morally wrong
The first responders, putting their lives on the line to save yours
such brave hearts, so miraculous when they come along

The one in a lifetime love
That romantic dream come true
Your complement, your eternal partner
The sweetheart that heaven sent just for you

And when those selfless souls pass away
Even within another realm, those angels continue to protect those they hold dear
Countless ways they communicate care and caution...you can see
their loving foresight in hindsight, though they're no longer physically here

God blesses us with angels
Not thinking of fluffy wings or mystical flying things
I'm thinking of those who help you beyond measure
The life changing, life saving acts each selfless soul brings

Notes From the Future--A Tale In Two Forms, Free Verse and Rhyme

“I am in a desert place in my life
I had this dream the other night:

Comfort came to me in two forms
Dark and Light
Remembrance and Anticipation

There was a sweet taste,
Not on my tongue but in my heart
And a soft touch soothing
But sublime

My mind saw this scene from two angles
Left and Right
I perceived a choice between two women
One I have known before
The other I would know

I was standing
My back to a wall, facing an open room
From my left Dark approached me
She put her face to my face
And her body right up against my body
As we sank to the floor kissing
It was odd—but familiar.

From my right came Light
(Dark had already gone)
Light put her face to my face
And her body against my body
As we sank to the floor kissing
And it was right
Each consuming the other.”
-------------------------------------------
Dark is a woman I knew—years ago
Light is a woman I had yet to know

Dark needs no light, for her countenance seen
Dark is lit up by my fond memory

To see Light I’d need hope, and it came in a vision
It took a great while, retrospect acquisition:

Committed recall to the blank white of paper
Returned to my eyes again, many years later

Gave chance to bestow, my mind reels at the means
The future made known to the man, it would seem

No notes from the future, squeezed backward through time
Piggybacked upon muons*, the old paradigm

It came by cigar with some gulps o’ the brandy
Wouldn’t suffer invention, no technology handy

Through membrane not diodes, transistors or chips
Premonition the cargo, time-transient ships

Time seeps and flips back--bits of data it brings
Knowledge bestowed in ethereal** dreams

The upshot of this story? Light’s my destiny
And I’m happy to say that her name is Tammy.

*The time traveling muon
**extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world

insanity is
not simply being myself
in my life each day....

    I woke up
               in a dream.
     The smell of
               tastes gone before.
      Authentic tulips
               blended with
       plastic imitations.
               "Bluie" chirping,
       "CiCi" meowing at kitchen's door:
                A cloak of weariness
        vying for more
                 attention;
        as I drift into a
                 light of sun...

Love, In all Its Forms

What is love?

A universal word

Love is a difficult emotion that revolves around our hearts

Love the passion, desire, and vulnerability the spice in our relationship

Love a chosen committed and affectionate, warm and tender platonic love

Love unconditionally, makes you feel secure and safe

Love a passionate and intense arousing romantic feeling of being alive

A symbol of love

Red Heart shape
