“I let go. Lost in oblivion. Dark and silent and complete. I found freedom. Losing all hope was freedom.”
Chuck Palahniuk

Is there such a metaphor as an avalanche of time?

Each second can be cold, but never freezes,
but we all know a landslide once triggered,
can bury fragile foundations into oblivion.

Sometimes life is scripted into a pantomime of pretend.

Darkness crawls at dawn.
There's a sour stench in the air,
ascending from an aromatherapy of agony and ache.

She's crying again. Her demons smiling.

This is no melodrama,
as crimson discolours the whites of her eyes,
with dripping mascara staining sore dark circles -
as 3am fears are released through a flood of tears.
Her spirit is a malady of misery,
lusting for an end from this state of deadly delirium.
In each tear there is a sign,
an unveiled message lost in silent flows -
as anxiety's asphyxiation grows.

Time has become her nemesis.
Turning her intellect into foolish bitterness.
It's a dilemma creating false hopes,
resulting in broken dreams and forgotten promises.

Destiny keeps playing games with her spirit,
whilst fate falters like premature butterflies.
Only her heart knows the truth of her heart -
She hides behind a veil of personal poison.

In the molestation of her mind,
she kisses the silence in between each echo,
yet the sands of time bring her no respite.
People keep throwing stones,
bruising her every time,
she has no desire to live as a victim
of broken pieces from her past,
but wounds keep resurfacing.

Tired from drinking venomous embers of elixir,
which pierce like shards of sorrow,
penetrating an eternal hole in her soul,
she cries for healing and understanding.
But In a world full of dark skies and rain,
her sanity slowly fades,
like a paper bag of emotions,
floating in a muddy puddle within a concrete pot hole.

Intoxicated by kismet's chalice of impatience,
she has learned fate has no mercy,
it offers no remedy to soothe her sorrows,
nor heal her horrors.

her life is a metaphor known as an avalanche of time.

Moonlight Shadow

Broken dreams
On purple flamed wings

Celtic rumors
Burning bright

Crosses and crescents
Knights and swords

In the mist of a weary mystical night
I saw her lying there, chest broken and bare
Picking her up, horse galloping away
We escaped the arrows and swords
She my sworn enemy lay half dead and splayed
My duty for not to tribes, but only to save
Slaved to the sword, this moment I escaped
Both bloodshed and grief
Freedom at last

In a hut in the forest
I dressed her wounds
I caressed her heart
Our eyes met over the firelight
I emptied myself into her
She, with lips so sweet
Drained the flood of tears and hate
From my very being
Shocked that love should strike me as an arrow
I held her, my first and only love
For three days and three nights
We whispered to each other foreign words
I touched her face and as she touched mine
In my arms she died
Softly and loved

I buried her
I buried my hate
I buried my sword
I buried my history

Celtic rumors
Burning bright

I, at peace
For the final flight

I held love within my arms
For that celestial moment in time

Now the final embrace
Wrinkled and old
I kiss deaths door
Knowing within
She is there to greet me

I Wish

I wish
I could into a deep blue sea dive
Have the flowing flood of tears subside
Let my smile surface and revive
And my woes would ever cease to survive..

I wish
I could the highest of mountains mount
And from its very summit
I would see with no doubt
How tiny my tribulations and vain to wane about..

I wish
I could widely fly
Reach the heart of the sky
And how light I am I would realise
Having dropped the heaviest of burdens so far..

I wish
I could on a solid land land
And feel the strength of the path I tread
Be sure not to stumble
When I raise high my head..

I wish
I could vanish into darkness
With a void I would merge
Attain a leading light
And with serenity I would converge..

I wish
I could follow an inner time to rise
Bright, full of energy and willing to shine
Despite the weights of dark nights
Seek the Light of God, bow to the Sublime and end my fights

I wish
I could not just bathe but sink
In a so pigmented thick ink
Draw and colour in a wondrous beauty
Paintings and portraits with my poetry..

Many Moons Ago

The ancient prophecy foretold
so very long ago ...
has finally arrived
Coming swiftly on eagle wings
The howling wind carries piercing night cries,
as open iron claws fall
from the mountain sky
And the slumber days, shown many moons ago,
has awakened death — cursed faces
carved on the fallen totem poles
So many, many moons ago,
my careless people were told
by the Almighty Spirit
not to pray to their vain wooden idols,
whom they worshiped in the forest groves
A flood of tears would one day wash upon the shores,
and bathe my people in the ashes
of their burnt fallen totem poles
Our unheeded shamans foretold
of a white pestilence cleansing of the land,
and our idol hearts would be broken
Visions of rivers of blood
from a snow-capped mountain would flow
As foretold ... so many moons ago
We should not have slaughtered the innocent
of our enemies, whom we last fought ...
giving them no mercy shown
Now our wooden sins have revisited us,
with the steady waves of pale crested sails,
seen upon the new moon horizon shores
This changing color of the evergreen leaves
and red clay soil
was foreseen so many moons ago
And the fate of the ebony mane buffalo
is the spirit path we now weepingly follow
Yes, the fall of my prideful people was foretold,
so many moons ago
And I cover my bowed chieftain head
with the ashes of the toppled totem poles

I write poems
I paint poem
Poems dripping blood
Poems deep and sad
Sad and raw with emotion
Sad to read and behold
Behold the words
Behold the sadness
Sadness in bleeding poetry
Sadness in my deep sorrow
Sorrow that drips sadness
Sorrow that flows in poetry
Poetry I write of pain
Poetry penned in pain
Pain that stabs my heart
Pain that is endless
Endless until my last breathe
Endless dreams that torment
Torment all of my days
Torment in my soul and I pray
Pray for peace from above
Pray that my writing will be release
Release the emotion I hold within
Release the flood of tears flowing
Flowing words I write
Flowing tears I write
Write with wide-eyed innocence
Write my poems truthfully
Truthfully my words tell the story
Truthfully I lay bare my heart
Heart and soul written
Heart again and again to read
Read by those who honour me
Read by those with kindness
Kindness will be their response
Kindness will dwell in their words
Words that are mine
Words and poems mine
Mine that I gave birth to
Mine that are like my beloved children
Children I will ever protect
Children I accept with their flaws and treasure
Treasure all my poems
Treasure and weep for my poesy
Poesy that heals my heart and soul
Poesy that I must and need to write
Write with deep lamenting
Write with great love
Lamenting a life I must journey alone in
Love buried in tombs

at times the soul gets clenched
in an unspeakable grief
in a demoniac grip, it chokes and wriggles
the pain of being stung by a dozen scorpions
or hacked piece by piece by an axe
tremulous grows the heart, over love that is spent
seeks in vain to revive the joy that is gone
strains to lift the veil that shrouds the soul
wrestles to come out from the desolate cave of black solitude

the more it struggles to wade through the mess
the deeper it plunges into the morass of despair
clung on talons of excruciating pain,
wailing a long wail of never being understood

the mind goes berserk
whirling and churning.
anytime the volcano might erupt,
emitting pyroclastic cloud
with the asphalt lava spilling out,
blowing life with its violent breath.

yet, have succeeded in putting on
a merry visage during day
laughs with the laughing crowd
but retires at night to the solitary cell
to release, in agonized sighs, the stifling anguish
and soak the pillow in a flood of tears

how long can one seek to hide oneself
in the cover of vapid cheerfulness…..?
why try to save the face when there is no face to lose?
sure the fig leaf will one day fall off
to stand in stark nakedness before the world aghast

i didn’t see it coming
for days walking in a daze
a fog that wasn’t lifting
obviously in shock
one foot in front of the other
on automatic pilot
not knowing what was next
then it happened

his ashes were ready to be picked up

triggering a flood of tears
there was no turning back
no delusion of him just having stepped out
he was coming home in a box
he was coming home
home to stay

O child of stone, outcast, alone,
succumbing to desire.
Inside your chest, you’re sorely pressed,
assailed by a liar.

Do not believe the tales it weaves:
the lost, untethered heart.
Though it deceives, it silent grieves
the time it spends apart.

When realized, it bitter cries
for wounds it did impart,
and scarce conceives, much less receives
the grace of a fresh start.

But when it breaks, all of that ache,
like scales, just falls away.
A flood of tears, to be drawn near,
says what no words can say.

Your Father sates, and yet He waits
for you to freely turn.
Climb in his chair, incline your ear,
and hear what your soul yearns.

Child, fall asleep to rhythms deep:
a heart that fiercely burns.
Ah, to be blessed, and find the rest
your strivings never earned!

The Drug

The drug

Everything is gone I’ve thrown it all away
Was I happy anyway
With all this emotions all That I feel
Is it me is it real
Or is this just the drug I feel

All of my family all of my friends
All pushed away
No more to depend
are these feelings real
or am I really ill
Or is this just the drug I feel

I’ll check the bank one last time
See if there is enough maybe another line
How could you believe that this would all be fine
Always chasing the thrill
Or is this just the drug I feel

Why do I sit in pain and fear
Drowning in this flood of tears
You chose your road
 And you rode it well
You didn’t jump off
Even when you arrived here in hell
It came and took all there was to steal
Or is this just a drug I feel

I sit here now waiting for that high
Don’t believe a word of it you’re just gonna cry
Emotions will flood you like a huge wave
They’ll be strong the same as your overpowering crave
Are these my feelings still
Or is this just the drug I feel

How much longer can i go
 I’m afraid I really don’t know
But if this is really just the drug I feel
Them I’m sure one day it will kill

Premium Member A Mother’s Lap

A mother’s lap of gentle grace.
Side table set with Gospel light.
Sans Doctor Spock, God’s brilliance.

Instilled the worth of womb and tears,
Of blood and nails, and Shepherd’s crook.

Breaking fluid, warmth, and swaddle.
Suspense of hope, faith, love and mirrors.

Reflection of mother and child.
A stable environment.

Made visible -
A star one night,
To find our way home.

Joseph couldn’t have dreamt
Of a better home -
His dreams bigger
In the hands of the Father.

Mother Mary fed the King of kings
before Christ fed the crowd
with multiplying bread and fish.

Joseph taught Jesus carpentry.
As Christ touched the wood,
Did His palms ache?

Without Joseph,
at the foot
of the crucifix,
a flood of tears;
red cheeks.

A mother’s lap of gentle grace
not forgotten -
in agony, Christ remembers
her great sacrifice.

I Loved

Mind, spirit and soul
Truth be told, I gave you my all
Friends didn't have to know about us
This was for my heart and yours to know.

I loved.
Took my heart on a journey
With a car that had its tank empty
But I knew that we'll get to the garage surely
But I didn't know that's where we were going.

It seemed as though you have better plans
So I put mine on the side and listened to your will and cans
That had no maybes so I was willing to ride this baby... Though it was empty.

Love is blind and maybe stupid
No,Love is not blind and I am not blind I just find reality too victimising so I
hide my small heart behind the saying "Love is blind"
As for it being stupid? NO! But just maybe our relationship was stupid.

So I walked away
Till a flood of tears caught up with me on my way
And I started floating back to you
Till I realised you caused the floods then went back to sunnydays.

I can't swim so I'll sit here until I'm covered with mud

Perhaps I walked away too far
When I turned, the journey back to you was too long
Perhaps, I gave up on you too fast that when I turned our car needed much
more than gas
But maybe the journey had to end eventually...

But wait you have my property
So we must end this properly
So I'll swim to where you are
My heart; that is all I want.

Getting constipated by anger
Over-controlled by feelings
Swimming in your tears
Added salt to my fears!

I found you exactly where I left you
I apologised for my mistakes long enough for you to finish fixing the breaks
The car was crumbling like dry cooked cakes
You told me that you found a she to help you cause I really caused you pain
You told me "I should stop talking to you, it'll ease the pain"
I went crazy thinking; "Are you insane? Do you know how bad it was,
swimming through that salty lane?"
You carried on saying "I'm feeling much better..."

Heartbeat got slow
I started thinking "Oh no! Yolanda you a monster for causing the guy so much
pain!
Yolanda you are stupid for risking so much for no gain!
But no way! I got pride so I won't let you see my pain
So instead I said "Oh...wow...okay...cool"
Hearing my heart beat slow
And a rock of sadness on my throat
I said "I will help you get better"

I'm starting my own flood and I hope it takes you away
Don't swim back to me.

Premium Member Heartache At Covid 19 Funeral

Just the vicar
                            four pallbearers
               and nine mourners
                                gathered at the graveyard
for the funeral of my husband’s best friend

                    In line with strict regulations
          we stood apart wearing masks
whilst the camera rolled recording the service
for those who were unable to attend

I had to fight the urge to go over
to give his distraught wife a hug
as she bent down to kiss the coffin
                                                  before saying her final farewell

Then ... I couldn’t stop the flood of tears
at not being able to comfort her

                                           My heart aches
that we couldn’t console his wife at her time of great need
that his son and daughter had to watch via zoom
that his many friends couldn’t gather to say goodbye
and we couldn’t give him the send off he truly deserved

Just nine mourners allowed to attend ...
                             my heavy heart still aches

In the Mornin'

In The Mornin'

(Chorus)
I will see you in the mornin'
When this long night has flown away

There was a time when I was young
When life had only just begun
And lookin' back I'm glad that I was born then.

A simple time and slower pace
Until the day I saw her face
Then everything was changed without a warnin'.
(Chorus)
I will see you in the mornin'
When this long night has flown away

She took me captive from the start
But swore she'd never break my heart
And magic wove a web of love and more then.

She made me laugh. She made me cry
But always was my alibi
Through thick and thin regardless of the stormin'...
(Repeat Chorus)

Then late one night these fourty years
Went flashing in a flood of tears.
I held her close and heard her whisper "Yours", then.

She closed her eyes. I wiped the tears.
Then one last time to ease my fears
She whispered out these words in sweet adorin'...
(Chorus)
I will see you in the mornin'
When this long night has flown away
I will see you in the mornin'
As the dawn breaks another day...

(Chorus--repeat ad lib to end)

(To the tune of Hallelujah)

An Embodied Tempest

A gray stormy sky matched my mood;
its violent, tempestuous
streaks of discontinuous light
fired across a charged atmosphere
soon answered by thunderous claps.
My mood is not unlike the storm:
It is emotionally charged,
unrestrained and prone to tantrums
that spark an electricity
too powerful to be controlled;
and like the tempest where wind blows
and precipitation follows
so too does my angry blowups
injure causing a flood of tears.
