Best Electrocuted Poems
The endgame
And the cemetery was
nowhere to be found
yet was so present
in the shallow depth
the graveyard of the mind
No tombstone unturned
fragmented torn and twisted
sorrow flowing down
encrypted alleyways
and Thanatos’ call
Searching to imprint
coffin’s nails on seams
of muddy icy prison
hammered chiselled avenues
creeping through and in
Dead alive and collocated
hell firing place and time
scorching cementing
looming crossing overs
to where and when to how
No monument just
monumental nothing
void oppression
endless loop’s demise
thoughts emotions dragging
Torrential thunders
roping in electrocuted lightning
nooses from the tree of
living emptied darkness
flowing rapids standing still
The cemetery awaiting
ashes urns and vultures
presiding over Ganges Styx
Caron caring like a
lifeless Buddha saddened
Giving taking suffering
unthreading tapestry graffiti
splashing on the canvass
sombre art in progress
oscillating back and forth
The reaper harvests harshly
the mindless soul and body
crumbling bones infested
carbons desiccation apathy
hedonistic pleasures dull extinct
Gravitation nudges wild
and gently roaring
culling sculls foreclosing scooping
offerings burthens memories
premature un-furbished epitaphs
Silent roaring rampant syncopal
admonished synergetic resolution
teasing fool and morbid jester
luring loosening resolve
apprehending lithographic scribes
And the cemetery blinding
obvious and for the taking
present not yet for embrace
remains a silhouette on the horizon
and life for now is stronger

Epitaph
That Day, Life Crushed
I was resting on a lake dock that was in deep decay
it ran fifty yards out into the seamless water
that day my baby brother had went to swim with his friends
a normal summer day that shone with splendor
and peaceful was the soft blowing wind
only fate was awake and moving ever forward.
There I was in peaceful solitude , resting
gazing at the lapping waves as they spoke
ignorant of what had taken place only moments before
the passing of a young and promising life, my brother.
Sun still beamed, wind still blew and life changed
a truck came racing across the bridge
I saw my best friend waving at me franticly
then I heard, I knew tragedy had befallen somebody
somebody I loved dearly.
Moments later, the force of truth crushed me into a ball
it was as I feared, a death, an unimaginable horror
my baby brother was dead, my fourteen year old baby brother
gone, gone , gone!
Electric current had destroyed his life
destroyed my life, sent me into a seven year rage
I said my goodbyes in a quiet rage and vowed that God,
God would pay for this!
And so it began a terrible journey into a dark abyss
one that consumed and slowly ate my soul
my soul it ate with relish and glee.
I became a punisher of God!
Yes, such misery did I heap out by the bucket
by the ton and ate it's glory until-
Seven years later, light came into me as I slept
I woke one morning to find that the one punished was ME!
God had told me but I refused to hear
Now I heard and that truth crushed me again!
The road back took time but seven long years was over!
life returned, joy returned!
Majestic love returned to reclaim it's treasure-- my soul!
My soul rejoices to this day,
this day I see God stayed with me as I ran away!
I, he that runs no MORE!
Robert J. Lindley 06-30-2014
My first ever write about my brother, Billy Joe Lindley
fourteen year old and the girls adored him,
that summer electrocuted by a faulty electric pump at a
friend's house by the river.
1976, I think about him every day since, he was an angel compared
to me and why, why did I live!

My love
I will not ask you
to be a pigeon or a dove
cooing your pleasures away
in our liquid moments of love.
I will not ask you to be tender
or to be a timid voice,
suspended in song.
If you must be anything, my Eve
please be thunder,
and shake the foundation of our union
with the audacity of your desire.
Unleash a cry from within
with a purity that vibrates glass.
Do not let your touch become ordinary
like words uttered without meaning or intent.
Do not be
a sapphire sky filled with birds in flight.
If you choose to be anything, my love,
let it be lightning.
Yes, be lightning,
and write your name across my chest
in fluorescent text.
Show me what it means
to be electrocuted by your nails.

Spoken Word
Europe was frozen in a tide of hate
The genius Jew was being persecuted
Bound to the intransigence of fate
His violin played the tunes they executed
Now it was time to think as they electrocuted
The hopes of young people in the dawn of their history
Whose own stories would have so much mystery
Down in the baker’s the story ran around
Hitler was marching to a frenzied tune
He bruised the flowers underneath the ground
And told them works of genius had no boon
While the bridal pair planned their honeymoon
On country roads, a visit to the town
Where they would see wonders and a family found
The day of the wedding dawned so fair
It would seem creation began again
Every single person going there
Wore the best they could, the men
With dark serge suits, and a fountain pen
For Granddad to write to his daughter
Who lived across three thousand miles of water
The wedding Nora had lived for all her life
Now like fate, could be too late to cancel
Nothing would please her more than being a wife
No longer a woman her relatives liked to spancel
They went the evening before to the quiet chancel
Made their vows in private for each other
Far away, war’s declaration on a brother.
His thoughts were far away this harvest morning
The corncrake singing in the flowery ditch
Struck into his heart like a heavy warning
That life was choked with love, so rich
A fantasy dove-tailing in augured pitch
Be faithful to me, the bird sang, my husband
I never want to wear another’s riband
She wore the oyster dress her sister gave her
It was soft and crumpled like a clotted cream
Her veil was raised when he kissed her
And she thought she was fainting from the dream
What could matter now, but what could seem
His handsome face, his hair so fine and black
There wasn’t one feature where he lacked
Her face was lovely as a golden flower
Her dress, a simple thing with fine kick-pleat
It lay like wisps of cloud upon her tower
Where beauty, youth and kindness all could meet
Such tiny pearls slid on her throat so neat
Their hour of tortured chastity was over
Profusion, perfection, they were like gods in clover.

Cant sleep because I still smell the smoke on my clothes from the fire we just put out.
I cant help but think about the soul we lost this early morning
Mornings are supposed to be filled with fresh air, birds singing, children playing happily.
Let me introduce u to my world, where dead rats, filthy green moldy water standing on the street is what u up too.
Welcome to ekasi (the ghetto/ township).
Children electrocuted till death by faulty wires while playing.
I cant help it but being robbed while going to the shop everyday.
Going to college feels like a crime because people judge saying u think u better than everyone.
My condolences to each & every innocent soul lost in these grounds my heart bleeds for u, no soul lost will be forgotten
Dear government I hope u are able to sleep well at night while making empty promises & forgetting the souls you live behind, there blood is in ur hands

I’m back in my childhood’s home
in its dank and dismal cellar
walking warily, unsteadily down
ancient
narrow
stairs.
The old-time wash machine with wringer
stands there in the center of the gloom
as I remember well it always used to.
Above me is the hanging bulb
with my late step-dad’s makeshift switch
which once I was electrocuted by (strange current went surging
from my fingers to the middle of my arm).
My eyes are just beginning to adjust.
But still it is so black.
Something’s in this room with me.
I sense, I do not see malignancy -
It’s omniscient; omnipresent
and pressing onto me.
A bat is fluttering eerily;
I know this, and yet I cannot see its wheeling frantic wings.
I make my way
so slowly to the bulb
suspended from the low and cobwebbed ceiling.
Reaching out I grasp the switch,
and a face appears suddenly before me.
Fear washes over my entire being. . .
Satan has me!
(This was, in fact, a nightmare, the worst I ever had. Nothing else ever came close!)

Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-ay
It’s Happy Mother’s Day
Mom stays in bed all day
while we all swing and sway
We serve her brunch in bed
not much to munch, it’s Bad!
Then we break all the dishes
and feed the cat goldfishes
We go outside and play
in a big lightning storm
The baby’s electrocuted
Ha-ha, can't cry now, he’s muted
Into the basement we sneaked
to take an illegal peak
at crazy dad’s latest experiment
Mom's wedding ring's now rubber cement
Time to take Mom to dinner
We picked a real winner
Too bad the place closed last year
They served great pickles and beer
Well, that wraps up Mother’s Day…
'Til a tornado blows our house away
Mom cries uncontrollably
~ Thanks for the memories

Lyric
Running over full speed to the tree,
The largest of all the items,
He clapped his hands excitedly together,
Three times rhythmically,
And smiled characteristically.
He got there and hugged the fir,
But its branches stabbed and hurt,
Such that all he could do was fall,
And cry loudly, wailing to all,
For anyone to see his call.
After someone motioned to him,
To serious up and rise,
He stood there a minute and then bent,
Grasped the tree with his two hands,
And embraced it as if a girlfriend who stands.
He was taken by Christmas fir remarkably,
Because it felt as incapable as him,
But it felt at the same time completely active;
All in one, though very much indiscreetly,
The two things went together simultaneously.
Eventually he set his new tree, his girlfriend, up,
Cherl, and settled her in her soil filled pot,
Using his fists to pat the soil flat,
And steady the tree which seemed to joust with him,
For attitude, and for a personality without vibes dim.
Soon he just got on with the job,
And he picked up somehow the lights,
But they were plugged into the socket;
So they electrocuted hm which made him jump back,
Feeling the impulse which gave him a whack.
He just looked at Cherl and was claimed,
By her solidity and her staunchness at the occasion;
So after a bit, continued to decorate with Christmas balls,
Although they dropped from his grasp often,
And then he added different shapes and angels to soften.
And lastly he went back to the lights,
Untangled them in a difficult process,
Hung them round and round and round,
Until they made a spiral shape downwards,
And the lighting of them took away his words.
It took him ages to complete, days,
But Cherl was delighted and alight;
He felt as if he’d achieved something great,
As it was like receiving a gold star from a primary teacher;
The event did wet his cheek as he was a reacher.

If only I could
I totally would.
To love to feel
To die embracing.
That everlasting emotion
Lurking deep in the ocean.
Burning like lava
Exploding from inside.
Electrocuted by your stare
Teasing me with a dare.
Awakened salacious images
Running naked through my head.
Seize me with longing
Fervor endless growing.
Elevate me to the extremity
Come to a halt at the summit.
Dissolved by lust
Attempting to adjust.
Evaporating with the zephyr
Adagio movements concluding me.

Rictameter
Tim had entered the state of a corpse while
the chorus assaulting his purulent soul festered
Callouses on his corpus callosum pretended
there was no connection just chaos exhumed
Corpuscles splattered astray ice in his vessels
in the same vein of demise as so often before
He stood at the pons dissected in cerebellar
disconnection nauseous detached from brain’s stem
A sequence of rapid succession seceded left overs
Hailstorms of concussion hailed hell freezing over
Snow gathered fast only that the crystals were black
Thunder and lightning electrocuted his passions
A squall out of nowhere invited rapidly raging squalor
Violent tempest arrested in sunken emotions
Blistering blizzards invaded the shelter of survival
Flooded with emptiness he crouched in the corner
of his neuro-toxified mind complicit of oblivion
He had tried the loneliness of a desolate desert
but then sand storms seeped through his pores
poured increasing abrasions towards ashes from dust
A vicious assault broke all defences’ containment
as he listened to the dispatch of an exploding skull
Caustic corrosion dangled from sockets of blinding sight
Tim attempted to drown himself at the oasis only
to find the mirage dispersing convoluted conclusion
But whirl winds returned him to the point of departure
He lingered at the crux of pontificated bridges
crucifix in hand and resolved to jump from the past
Ready to escape from judgement he stumbled and
fortunately the overpass had collapsed due to the storms
Faced with the murky slate of destruction he
gathered the debris and waited for fate to abate

Riding the bus to school past an ugly reminder
the tattered trailers next to a construction site
I imagine the way it used to be
a house
across from a dozen shattered trailers with little heat
no water usually but electricity
visiting mom was a treat
Dad would not refuse to drop me off
at her trailer with my pet rat
rad dee louise, ratty louise mom called him
she loved him so I let her have him
mom had friends over all the time
this tattered trailer held them while
I watched and smelled the perfume
watched her glow red and crystallize with 2 grown men
then dad picked me up for the night
next time a man drove up to the lot
he rolled down the window and I ran up
we talked and I must have been smart
because he remembered me and drove off
she wanted to talk about the spies
the eyes in the trees that were watching her
I ate the crystals she gave me saying
these are cow grass, they put the cows to sleep
I did not sleep
she lectured me
about all the terrible things that others
could do to me or had done to others
so I went outside and built a fire
that fire lasted through the night
the coals were most amazing things
I'd ever seen
I stared into their eyes
keep them alive and nothing else mattered
She came storming out of the tattered trailer
after midnight or just before dawn I dont know
screaming
I'm being electrocuted! she said
tired, I wondered why she felt that way
she jumped into a tree and sat their shaking
I tried to comfort her but she was on fire
I saw that, tried to leave in vain
she kept me close and dragged me
to the battered trailer again
she pulled me from place to place
around the compound in the dawn
the fire coals were cold and so was I
wanted to sleep but she kept saying
she was being electrocuted
waking up I wandered to find the sheriff
shaking her awake and taking her away
they took me too
to the dock where the van was
where my dad was gone
I told them he was teaching which was true
so I woke up alone next to the payphone
and crawled into bed in the van
I didn't tell my dad

Narrative
I don't know why,
You may think i'm weird,
but the sexiest thing I can think of,
has to be morning hair.
You know the kind of freakish fro in the mornings,
that flops all around,
when your eye's are falling out,
almost hitting the ground.
Then a mighty yawn,
and bits start to stick out,
like you been electrocuted,
like you hair just wants to shout.
(Car wash wooh wooh wooh wooh wooh
At the car wash yeah... )
It's both amusing and sexy for me,
to see your hair so naturally,
I know it's hard to believe,
that I find morning hair so dang sexy...

Eyes and Minds
Miracles can happen anywhere
Open to contradiction by many
In the eyes and minds of a be-holder
The extraordinary event is real
People claim to witness all types of miracles
Other people dispute miracles out-right
Miracles can’t be substantiated by fact
And are ascribed to the supernatural
Most claimed miracles are religious based
Those who follow their beliefs will always believe
The non-believers dismiss miracles as an imaginative event
With no hard evidence or scientific natural world facts
People all over the world use the word miracle
To describe events that are not natural
But is it loosely used and exaggerated?
To suit the person who claims a miracle
I cut a live wire with pliars, threw me against the wall
A miracle I wasn’t electrocuted and killed
Or was it luck as the pliars were insulated
And I was wearing rubber boots on the wet ground
It’s a miracle we can live and breathe on this planet
That the world has a diverse range of flora and fauna
That the universe around is infinite and unbelievable
That we have evolved to become intelligent humans
There is no concrete answer to how the universe was formed
Scientists and astronomers are still trying to solve the mystery
I would like to think that the answers will be found in time
But it will be a miracle if it happens before we destroy what we have now

Thomas Edison couldn't sell the idea of selling electricity
to business or residence in any major state or city.
The biggest fear for seven years that was often being disputed
was that if one were to turn a light on, they could get electrocuted.
