Premium Member In the Dark of the Strand

Marquees are bright with neon lights, where crowds line up for movie night
Holding hands, we're in 'The Strand'. The velvet carpet guides us in

Popcorn smokes, .. we're drinking cokes,... and cracking jokes with Bing and Hope
Lamour's along with more sarongs,... , her luscious lips, and cigarettes,
She fills ashtrays with smoking tips, and tosses guys like poker chips

'Movietone' intrudes with news, and soon we're in somber mood
Third-Reich goosesteps march again, ... an evil presence in the wind...

Cary Grant , (a news reporter), loves his girl, and his typewriter
"His Girl Friday", plot is witty, sometimes crazy. But Cary loves this ditzy lady....

William Powell and Mryna Loy..., Asta barks, and finds a toy, ...a ploy? a clue?,....
...an earring gold. The mystery is clearly solved.-- A crimson sun, is rising cold!

Movietone in black and white,... graphic scenes, where soldiers die

Another night, suspense on chart. 'Correspondent' , Joel McCrea.
Saves Lorraine, and claims the Day. BUY WAR BONDs !! They'll pave the way

Bogart, Bergman bring to light, a valiant flght , within their grasp
Airline ticket, in her hand, they must part, and do what's right, no questions asked

----

It's movie night, but you aren't here, a troopship took you far from here
Allied troops are moving tanks. I wait for you..God give me strength

I'm in the Strand, within the dark, there's no one here to hold my hand

I'm all alone...........I heard the news....................You left it all in Anzio

Premium Member Pretty Patty

Pretty Patty was a penny pincher of the worst kind
She saved every single cent that she could find
She carefully cut out coupons ,counting every one
A bit bizarre but buying butter cheaper, oh what fun!
Fashion forward not, wore second hand store stuff
But our ditzy darling was a diamond in the rough
She started scrimping and saving solely for a reason
Her main mission was gladly giving gifts of the season
To those who were woefully without she gladly gave
With this joyful gesture a child's Christmas she might save

Lame Name Game

Silly Billy had no fear, he drowned it in a case of beer.
Handy Andie so adept, kept so busy, she never slept.
Dirty Donna did what you wanna, she lived just down the street.
You didn't have to ask her twice, she was so nice and very sweet.
Hairy Larry all alone, made the women grimace and groan.
Very scary in his approach, girls would crush him like a roach.
Steady Betty, always ready with what ever it took.
Found a way to save the day, be it by hook or crook.
Stan the man does what he can no matter what it takes.
Always appalled by what has happened, then says for goodness sakes.
Gabby Abby giggles and talks with nary a concern.
I wonder if there'll ever be a time she'll ever learn.
Bob the slob wouldn't get a job, he did nothing all day.
He looked a mess, and yes I guess, there's nothing left to say.
Chatty Patty talked so much, she developed lock jaw.
You'd think that that would slow her down, but nah.
Dorky Doug had quite the mug, he looked a little askew.
When he'd greet you on the street, you didn't know what to do.
Nick the stick was very quick, always on the go.
He never walked, he always ran, the word slow, he didn't know.
Guilty Milty quite the guy. He never looked you in the eye.
If you caught him at his game, instead of shame, he'd rather die.
Ditzy Mitzy, not a clue, in her ear, you'd see clear through.
Sandy Sandy, on the beach, the young men she would beseech.
Their young minds she couldn't reach, but that's not what she tried to teach.
Loser Lenny always played, what it cost, he never weighed.
Didn't know when to walk away, should have left, but always stayed.
Pervy Peter made skin crawl, I'm guessing his was pretty small.
You felt like you'd catch a disease, even if he would just sneeze.
Surly Shirley, not too girly, and not very nice.
You can ask her once, a question, but don't ask her twice.
Bendy Wendy in the breeze, did everything down on her knees.
The young boys she'd always please, when they would leer up in the tree's.
Kent the gent, his kindness spent, decided it was time.
To let them know just what he meant, but still did it in rhyme.
Holy Holly, quite contrite, prayed sincerely every night.
Oh, good golly, how she yearned for things to be just right.
In the interest of keeping your interest, I think I'll stop it here.
Like Billy up in the first line, I think I'll have a beer. :)

Bird Brain and Pigeon Toe

Two of the wackiest guys I know,
	live two doors down,
		           one flight below

Tall is one, the other is short
One chirps loud all the time ... one quietly coos
Tall wears a small hat,
	         		        Short sports big shoes

Bird Brain and Pigeon Toe,
they’re two of the silliest fellas I know
Those two ditzy, dunce Dodos
	live two doors down,
			             one flight below
Two Heckle and Jeckles,
		             warbling so-and-so’s

One spring cleaning time,
my fair sparrow lady and turtledove me
were shaking a dust feather
at what we heard, but couldn’t believe —

Toe tapping on the Brain
with a combination of
Muhammad Ali - Fred Astaire pure artistry
The Pigeon was floating like a butterfly,
	stinging like a bee ...
putting pain on the Brain’s cheek

While we kept shaking that dust feather
at what we still couldn’t believe;
we heard hawk flap sounds,
		                 so stark raven noisy —
Bird woodpecking the Pigeon
with a fist pounding of
a knuckle Louisville Slugger, number 23

The Brain was tapping Morse Code bulls-eye
	carvings on a tree ...
putting hurt on the Pigeon’s beak
Can you believe —
Two best friends fighting like worst enemies!

When the dust settled and the air cleared,
we really couldn’t believe
what our hummingbird ears just did hear —
Loud laughter mingled with drunken cheers,
        of double-burping
                             out an open window
Coming from two doors down,
			           one flight below

They’re longtime best buds —
Two of the dimmer bulbs which glow,
that have a peacock taste
		         for the suds

Now you now know:
A pair of the quirkiest crow chums
who roof perch together,
	     wing elbow
Parakeet plucky park bench bums

Total cuckoo nest best buds
Fun loving,
boon-docking couch spuds

My neighboring parrot chime fellows:
Bird Brain and Pigeon Toe,
      they live two doors down,
			          one flight below

Premium Member Whispers Can Be Scary

Whispers can be scary if you're alone.

Voices can sound sinister uttered low.

Branches scrape windows; wind murmurs a moan.

Whispers can be scary if you're alone.

Imagine you go to answer the phone.

"I see you," says a hushed voice you don't know.

Whispers can be scary if you're alone.

Voices can sound sinister uttered low.

peppy porcelain puppy poops on the floor
wacky winged walrus whizzes on the door
enigmatic eonian elephant espies some bamboo
  clever castrated cormorant shrieks yahoo

brassiere-busting bonobo barfs on the table
maniacal mystic monkey freaks on cable
sly sonambulent sloth bear slumbers in his cave
natty naughty nutty newt nests in a wave

dizzy ditzy doormouse dances with a broomstick
tawdry turgid tiger toys with his joystick
rugged recondite raccoon races up rut-marred roads
finicky febrile frog farts on frightened toads

I Am Me

I am me
I laugh when it’s funny
I cry when I’m sad
I feel pain when I’m hurt
I am me
I go deeper than the surface
I feel more than a simple touch
I see farther than what the naked eye can see
I believe faith is the key to happiness
And I think forever, instead of spare of the moment
I am me
Brown colored skin, jet black hair, shadow brown eyes, hour glass shape, ditzy crooked smile, ambitious personality and a heart of gold
I am me
Born and raised a Texas flower
Detailed product of my country environment
A small but important piece of God’s glorious creation
I am me
I walk tall
I stand firm
I listen to the beat of my own heart
I follow God’s foot steps
I carry my pride on my face
My motivation is rejection and doubt
My encouragement to move forward is my son
I am me
I am a mother but also a child
I am a teacher but also a student
I am a keeper but also a giver
I am a lover that yearns to be loved
I am me
I look like my mother
I’m unsure like my father
I’m inspired by my sisters
And I fight like my brother
I am me
Bold and beautiful
Wise and understanding
Real and humble
Strong and steady
I am me
I don’t believe in regret
I don’t look backwards
I live for the moment
And I pray for tomorrow
I am me
Some see the surface of me
Others look right over me
Few see the real me
But none will ever intimidate me
Because, I am me…..

Premium Member Ditzy Drunk Driveress Limerick

Suzette, alas,so drunk at the bar.
Decided to drive home in her car
        Oops, ran over a skunk.
        Heavens it really stunk.
Out of her car, she studied stars.

My Limit

I'm sick of this large man telling me what I can't do
A woman in the boxing world, who would've thought
Ditzy blonde even know he can't stand the truth
Being submissive and a victim is something I'm not

People have told me my arms are too big
I'm too muscular, too masculine, and not good enough
But, I never will tell myself which hole to dig
Because I know how to fall in and out of love

My body is bruised, broken, and put through hell
I am dancer, a fighter, a rider, and a poet
No one can tell me opinions about myself
Because I have presence, and I damn sure know it

When I walk into the room, I know you know it
Don't tell me when and where I belong
I come in to hit and the bags and just show it
This fighting spirit of mine will never be gone

Yes, I am a woman and I get punched and take it
This light of mine...there is no hand to dim it
100% authentic! no knowledge to ever fake it
Only I get to tell myself my limit

In This Room Painted Black

We layed in that bed.
We told jokes and stories from when we were younger.
There in that room painted black.
We'd stay up all night long telling jokes and funny tid bits.
And laugh loud enough to wake the whole house.
We were inseperable, invincible to the world that surrounded us.
Because me and you were so locked tight.
You were my one and only friend, my confident.
The only person I could tell anything and everything to,
as I was to you.
I miss your impressions of other people.
I miss the way you'd laugh.
I miss the ditzy things you would say.
But thats all changed now.
Because you aren't here anymore.
There are no more jokes.
And no more stories from our past.
We don't stay up all night together like we used to,
and the laugher is just an echo in my sweet memories of us.
Us when we were inseperable, invincible to the world that surrounded us.
We aren't locked tight like we used to be.
I miss my one and only best friend, my confident.
The only person i could tell anything and everything to.
As I lay in this bed.
In this room painted black.

Premium Member The Neighbor's Cats

The squirrels have disappeared from my backyard
Since the neighbor’s cats have invaded their domain,
And I am taking their sudden absence especially hard
The squirrels have disappeared from my backyard.
It appears that the culprits, the cats, cannot be barred
Complaining to their ditzy owner is all that remains
The squirrels have disappeared from my backyard,
Since the neighbor’s cats have invaded their domain.

President We Never Need

Horn President We Never Need Haiku

Here is what I meant;
President of discontent
And without consent.

To much to endure;
We want to remain obscure
Has big mouth for sure.

He has the lowest
Approval rating achieved
By any President.

Always repugnant
What he says is redundant
Not know what was meant.

Does have eyes that squint;
Cabinet of discontent;
Never will repent.

Each never relents
Mechanisms of defense (MOD)
While world seems so tense.

Waste (waist) should try to trim
Have many bad names for him
Future appears dim.

Actions are prissy
Appearing like some sissy;
Does drive you ditzy.

Impeach that is true
Only thing which we can do
To get rid of you.

Premium Member The Itsy Bitsy Glitzy Ditzy Ritzy Kitty

The itsy bitsy glitzy ditzy ritzy kitty
Makes the room seem rather pretty
My uncle is here, feeling puffed and silly.
His kitty stories are traveling willy nilly.

The itsy bitsy glitzy ditzy ritzy kitty is now….
Grooming herself, so she will be a wow.
She has not yet made us adults bow,
But she is the queen of the kibble chow.

Crunch crunch crunch she eats so loud.
Her chewing is regally arrogant, and quite proud.
In a day or two there might be quite a crowd.
She gives me a look, making me feel humbled and cowed.

What is it about itsy bitsy glitzy ditzy ritzy kitty I wonder.
That makes me feel like a fool that has been slapped by thunder.
She has look that puts me in my place, as a peon at best.
She is the haughty queen of this cat-loving nest.
