Tell Me a Tale

Tell me a tale of humanity
Paint me the love of your life
Show me a path to humility
How a man should honour his wife.

Help children believe in magicness
Describe the warmth of a smile
Feelings invoked by happiness
A tree that’s been watching a while.

Explain the pain of solitude
Gift me the smell of a flower
Tease me with dreams of magnitude
Sights that are seen from a tower.

Convey the sound that a river makes
Define your fear of the dark
Textures and tastes of a freshly cut steak
A walk with your child in the park.

Interpret the touch that a lover leaves
Recount the flaws of your youth
Depict a man with his heart on his sleeve
Confront and search out the truth.

Weave me a yarn with your poetry
Spin me with poetic release
Take me away with ingenuity
Fill my mind and my soul with your peace.

When the Goddess of aroma
graces my caffeinated soul,
her milky quartz crown
                     shines in shades
                     of ineffable pleasures.
Invigorating arabica stars within
                  my senses to rise
                       like steamy silhouettes~
              laced in seraphic
                        aura of lotus chastity….

If coffee personifies
the electrifying taste
of my longing soul,
will fruity scents stir,
to evoke hidden
metaphors within this
mocha heart?

I’ll sketch
decaffeinated skies
with roasted beans
of brunette bliss.
Let colors of the
golden sun splatter
harmonious hues
of cosmic sanctity.
I’ll embrace the
aromatic elixir of life,
brewed with
floral hints of faith~
allowing unfiltered
essence of
meaningless mornings,
to reawaken an undying
thirst to illuminate
fading stardust.
Quenching serenity
from granulated values,
that depict
karmic kismet
across divine rivers
flowing with
spiritual awakening.

Perhaps, with every
sip of espresso,
we indulge a scoop of
cocoa gratitude,
expressing the
inner purity,
while happiness pours
into a crystal clear cup
of constant clarity.
There the light
of cinnamon
oozes amidst the
cleansed canvas of life,
to rescript an
ethereal ingredient
that guides us back to
a realm of rosier runes,
where ego has no palette
to rest upon,
for within us dwells
an immortal barista,
concocting healing drips
from caramelized visions.

I’ll hold on to these
unexplored cravings,
while the liberty of
conscience remains~
the first ray of
warmth I inhale.

When daylight befalls like
tints of tuscan tiramisu,
let me find the strength
to lure pale pigments
of weeping wind~
I’ll be the thread
that untangles unsettling
webs wrapped in
bitter breezes,
for the king of solace
and I, will become one;
celestially intertwined,
infused in bronze ink,
as one in a million flavors.

He used to be three dimensional
and then he became two
I know it seems far fetched
But I’m telling you it’s true

In two dimensions
he could still depict three
If people didn’t look to closely
They’d believe what they’d see

His paper thin personality
once colourful and cool
Gradually became faded
no longer able to fool

Winds of change kept blowing
Two dimensions turned into one
Without any depth there
one was destined to be none

Not a soul remembers him
He simply faded away
A whisper from yesterday
Who had nothing real to say

Premium Member superficial solace

  O river of moon roses
                ferry me home....
I weep in quivering quiescence
      like a weathered wild petal~
  healing and hurting
            in my p o e t i c recluse..

perhaps there is no word
to depict your thunder-struck garden
as breathless stars
             shiver in solitude
tasting the pulse of betrayal
from the veins of grieving gravels…

I ponder ~ must I brush
     skin of dusk
with angst of dawn
believe in self-spun delusions,
and drown in dahlia deception?

I have known truth as a masked lie
    fed from familiar hands
                  of superficial solace...

I trusted the darker face of twilight
oblivious to the
             sage flickering within...
following the fading silver
of the fickle Luna~
a willing mistress
            to ethereal torment…

             forgive me
I have no adjectives nor rhyme
left to right the love turned cold
I wove across
    hyacinth horizon
that
     feels not silent sighs
  remember
      you'll search for my silhouette
          in valleys of vain violets
             wicked-white winds
when the sun blemishes the sky
   with colors of
                ice-blue
                         r e v e r i e s
  O dream-weaver
                           soul-kisser....

Premium Member Oh Captcha Squares

Oh captcha squares, oh captcha squares
What are these objects in your frames?
Oh captcha squares, oh captcha squares
Why must they gotta be the same?

    Cars and busses, traffic lights
    Bicycles and motor bikes
Crosswalks, signs, and steps and stairs
    Fire hydrants everywhere

    Boats, planes and parking meters
    Tickets, fines, misdemeanors
Why are you so fond of these?
Why are palms the only trees?

Oh captcha squares, oh captcha squares
The pictures trapped inside of there
Oh captcha squares, oh captcha squares
Depict a world so bleak and bare

   Arid, bland, unaesthetic
   Barren, drab, unpoetic
   Sterile, cold, antiseptic
   Unconcerned, apathetic

   Somber, sad, and desolate
   Woeful, bland, pedestrian
   Weary, grim, dreary, hopeless
   Grainy, gray, out of focus

It doesn’t need to be this way…

Many things could fill your squares
Why not fill these things in there?

   Tambourines and castanets
   Bass trombones and clarinets
   English horns and piccolos
   Harpsichords and xylophones

   Fiddles high and Irish whistles
   Jingle bells and finger cymbals
   5-string banjos, mandolins
   Saxophones, accordions

   Desmond Tutu and Mandela
   Cassius Clay, Cinderella
   Charlemagne and Genghis Kahn
George and Ringo, Paul, and John

   Twain and Edgar Allan Poe
   Wayne and Brando and Monroe
   Ida Wells, Frida Kahlo
   Steinem, Parks, and Ferraro

   River Thames and stormy seas
   Winter wrens and bumble bees
Cyprus, ash, oak, fir, and pine
   Sassafras, willow, and lime

   Daffodils and magnolias
   Marigolds and begonias
   Cabbage, beets, and potatoes
   Carrots, beans, and tomatoes

Oh Captcha Squares, Oh Captcha Squares
If your pictures must remain
Oh Captcha Squares, Oh Captcha Squares
How aboutcha change the frames?

   Captcha circles, captcha suns
   All the captcha olygons
   Wiggly captcha twiggly lines
   Twisty captcha twiny vines

   Captcha diamonds, captcha hearts
   Captcha clovers, moons, and stars

Just be more creative, OK?

Premium Member Lyrical Acrolect

P o e t r y fills my heart
with lyrical acrolect:
slowly swaying
my fingers
   to outstanding octaves,
through
  ecstatic
  liberated librettos,
uplifting in a
  medley of
   melancholic motions.
I n k is bleeding
in nocturnal nouns,
composing charismatic
choruses in
eclectic shades~
of
violet and vermilion,
and quiet quill
is still searching
for a
sentimental serene serenade,
every letter
meticulously moonwalks
between lines
of silver and grey,
engrossing beats
of a heavy heart
in subtle
   soulful synonyms.

In a dynamic
world of word weaving,
poet’s depict a
choir of chronicles
from
   mellifluous escapades,
merged in
   magnetic metaphors
and synchronized similes,
glamorizing pain
in heavenly
harmonious juxtapositions,
whilst singing tales
of oxymorons,
ranting through a
   rhythm of rhymes,
forming sonorous sonnets
with sensitive syllables.

But these are
encrypted musings
of my citrine heart.

In realms of a reality
that dreams breathless~
behind a
terrain of tercets
and porcelain prose.
For life as
  an abundant artist
is a premature platform,
where e m o t i o n s
    are expressed through
introverted introspections
once hidden in
   the hush of hours.

Premium Member In Black and White

I have some photographs in black and white
which show my life when I was just a child.
That bygone era long ago took flight,
but pictures of it in my mind are filed.

How fitting that my photographs depict
the drabness of our time in Washington.
No dazzle in the state my father picked
for us to live in; clouds would hide the sun!

My dad was cursed with illness of the mind.
For me, bright hues mean family fun and play.
How little happiness were we to find
where black and white got blended into gray.

My later youth for color did not lack,
but melancholy years were white and black.

Respect Fellow Poets

Negative comments depict a lack of respect
PS Admin protects poets, and they object
By saying that's a no no
Don't be a cause of woe
Defiance shows a paucity of intellect

Others have offered this as a piece of advice
"If it's not your nature to write something nice,
write nothing at all"
'Cause rude words appall
Don't make Poetry Soup a fool's paradise

Premium Member Voiceless Eagerness

I'm that my words and pen can't express my weakness.
Nobody could have foreseen I felt such happiness.
My bald secret is now included in my poetic liveness.
I'm at a loss for words to define my soulfulness.

All that I do for you is for you and your uniqueness.
To be clear, you were born to bestow our joyfulness.
Had sent a blessing to us thanks to God's holiness.
Son, you depict nicely how a son may have lightness.

My duty will always be to offer you matchless.
If you're in the lamest rule, you deserve my promptness.
You lifted my artwork to an extreme level of skillfulness.
Everywhere I fit, you seem to follow me with firmness.

Regardless of where I am or how I manage my illness.
The ghost that lurks within me is a mystic elusiveness.
Of inspiration and creativity that is in my mind flawless.
It just takes one look to confer my focus and cleanliness.

Claim anything you envy, but don't leave me clueless.
Yet, I am aware of how grateful you are for my lavishness.
Even the urge to craft your own way has uniqueness.
With all my resources, knowledge, and awareness.

All have a role to play in preserving our rising family spotless.
Sway to the beat of my soul and embrace my closeness
Allow yourself to widen your eyes; your destiny will be harmless.
I drew the full moon for you to retain your greatness.

Without question, I admire you for your graciousness.
My son, I'll outline your disparity and avail your tactfulness.
I meant to say that you sparked my thoughtfulness.
Consider that I'm always aware of your level of attentiveness.

I can tell from our relationship around gleefulness.
Even if I die, you will have a piece of my warm-heartedness.

Premium Member Ekphrasis On Charing Cross Bridge

hazy morn has broken
as silhouette of solitary boat
silently sails on Thames river
where a steam train just passed
on pallid emerald bridge
leaving a titanium smoke
that glazes the atmosphere
with a gentle kiss of mist

reflections of the sun rising
a blend of peach and tangerine
mirrored on the still water
spell a fleeting moment
of dappled sunlight
whilst the Charing cross bridge
is a relic of ephemeral link
connecting two people in love

Premium Member Adoration of Nature

Adrift in silent tranquillity, admiring a
Backdrop of nature's charm and grace.
Clarion cloudless sapphire skies above
Depict the state of calmness in my mind.
Eyes admire an abundance of blossoming
Flowers, red tulips, lilac lilies and bluebells.
Growing around lush emerald meadows.
Heart is at ease watching robins in trees.
Instrumental echoes of their chirps among
Japanese cherry blossom buds are so fragile.
Kindred spirits of nature entwine with my soul,
Lingering in the harmony of serenity and purity.
Mind is overcome with a sense of sadness.
Numb to the atrocities causing Earth's demise.
Overdose of pollution conflicts our existence
Painful reminders are shown through disasters
Questioning the actions of global leaders
Reluctant to change their imperialistic needs.
Secretly increasing their imperialistic desires.
Trying to fool us, whilst abusing our habitat with
Unjust behaviours destroying the ecological system.
Vegetation covered in pesticides genetically modified, yet
World is still full of poverty, hunger and drought with
Xenophobes increasing injustices for minorities.
You can only strive for global betterment, by
Zealously fighting the mental process of humanity.

Premium Member When summer is gone

We learn to waltz and whirl through sunless spheres,
amidst the frozen frangipanis, grieving in trembling stillness……

When summer is gone and the salmon sun slumbers in its somber sanctuary,
waving silent farewells to skies glowing in apricot ink,
I steal the amber and tuscan shade of twilight
to shawl them in ballet pink, embroidered with champagne sequins.
But am I to swirl through the melted haze of mauve,
to wade through gloomy shadows befogged in dragonfly darkness,
suffocating the balmy roses within my dusky heart of crimson thistles and thorns,
like a weathered and greying garden of pixelated petals?
Yet somehow, I find colors from crestfallen leaves,
to paint my bleeding scars with singing stars.

I still ponder: if grief had a color, would it be the gold and russet hues of autumnal foliage,
or would it be the crystal blues of the ice-cold hues of winter?
Perhaps there is no metaphor or seasonal tone to depict raining black dahlias,
for the violin strings of a honeyed horizon now remain a mere memoir,
where marigold memories flow within cluttered calligraphy.

So tonight I’ll rise as the vermilion veil of the mulberry moon,
amidst the faded streaks of saffron and cinnamon clemency.

Lovely, two-week luster.
lasting sylvan smell,
lavender, blue, crimson, lilac, pastel
light lifts people's mettle
leading light is a liking illustration.
loamy land leaning of landowners.

Lubed language is silky and crucial.
land lightly in people's whimsy
locution of literalism logicality
lasts for a lengthy time, if not longer.

Lapis lazuli lanes link labor.
limitless loop layout lends a look of light.
lost from landscape left walls in flux.
looking for love losing out
learning to love may launch
letting love lurch may be a loom.
lift by living a loving life.
lasting love is pulled to lead

Living every day, listening to the wild.
learning life lessons by laughing
lifting lethargy, limiting lemons
loving our Lord, love one another.
love talk leaks recall, lie seal.
loving recalls rekindle love's loyalty.
lips locked, long-lasting.

long, salty lacking friends.
love, latch loss, live for those who care.
looking for a soulmate alone looks cruel.
limping life’s path, listening to voices.
lambaste the bamboozled mind.
laugh, scream your feelings loud

Lustrous eyes reveal loneliness.
lost will, loyalty remains.
lockets and lullabies depict it.
lyrics praise long, dull winters alone.
lacking friendship, grieve less.

Licensed to fix wrongs, omit loopholes of lies.
lure rivals to confess, and learn their lies.

Dedication

Dedication

The world falls apart.
The world is your hands stretched when
Something within me is a rock worth climbing.
When the reality is worth inhaling.

When the Moon cuts the sanity with its light.

I cannot quit.
I wish I could.
I cannot quit.
I wish I could.
I cannot depict what’s going on.
I wish I could.

We fit perfectly
like fire and black soil,

like disaster and silence,
like pain and victory,
like solemn July nights
and gruesome routine.

I wish I could find shelter
and conceal my haughtiness from the past,
our questions revealing the dark side of being,
our routes unknown.

In my life’s equation
you are thorn, silk and embers.

There is more to dedication than mere events.

I cannot quit.
I wish I could.

You MUST let me know!

He seems debonair
She’s all sugar and spice
This one is too "wild"
But this one seems nice

This one seems so shy
This one is too bold
This one's SIZZLING HOT!
This one just seems...cold

The face that you show
Is that a disguise?
Is that blue or green
In those dazzling eyes?

Is the person who puckers
Real sexy or plain?
Is the one with the glasses
A charm or a pain?

Is Miss Beauty Queen
All pretty inside?
Does Mr. Kind Looking
Have demons to hide?

Is Miss Sultry Siren
Curvaceous and hot?
Is Mr. “I’m Cool!”
All covered in spots?

Why are you a fruit?
Or a cat or a dog?
Does the character suit?

A scary faced monster
A symbol? How sweet!

The intrigue's a treat!

Avatar, Avatar,
Don’t tell me…I’ll faint
Is my favorite poet
A sinner or saint?

Oh answer me this…
Are you really real?
These pictures I see
Do they breathe? Do they feel?

I know you won’t tell
Your icons bespeak
A heaven or hell

Not one poet can peek
To see the REAL me

That's YOUR mystery!
