~the Fear of Never~ A DRINK TO REMEMBER!

And the fire catches every time, my heart needs a sip
I bear no shame pouring, poisoned pabulum whisky down
Lost in a place with hungry whores, ink paying gigolos
This night a respected gentleman put's on his evening gown
He sits in front of a mic playing the same old sad song
Fitted out in drag, his wife has no clue
Holy breeders trying to change my shoes
Lingering from the Cute Chinaman, running his tab sky high
Bluebirds of jealousy, set round the vintage Barstool like fools
Minds overpowered and threaten to the very nub

I am drunk-- in his eye,
He receives a macabre confession of possessiveness
I am drunk-- in her eye,
She has a sick confession of subconsciousness

Broken loose from a negative, regressive state of mind
Sit and enjoy this broken bottle of champagne
Unspoken rage in every empty can left behind
A shot glass drops from my unstable hands longing to hold a pen
I look into a mirror and embrace every meaning of stability
Blotting out the madness behind a metal cage of reality
At times, I feel the need to bring down this masquerade
A drink so hostile, I can't even remember my image and name

Too many scars, from the foster of paper and pen
My dependents are drunken demons from a traumatized childhood
Tonight I will legislate a special thanks
Holding up my cup, until death finds my note
I will smile, at every Judge and Jury, during karaoke night
Shutting down my eyes, fantasizing everything's gonna be alright
I will not jilt knowing, writers block haunted my days away
Insecure hoarding monsters enjoying spoil forgotten words
Tonight I thirst like never before, my tongue inscribes around a tin cup
I am not eating up by it, no matter how long I've drowned in it
This is my kind of whisky, my thoughts, my days of ammo
To tell you the truth, I possess no desire to drink
It's all about the love of poetry and how sober, I become (WITHOUT)
The monsters that reside inside, have one thing to say

"Give me Poetry, or give me Death!"

Premium Member Refurbished Fairy Tales: Cinderella, If the Shoe Fits Part Three

The happily ever after...

He searched the kingdom for a fortnight 'til all saddle sore and weary,
With his eyes bloodshot and bleary,
The prince arrived at the last door.
He found two sisters, far too ugly, and an even uglier mother,
And asked himself why even bother,
This whole darn quest's become a bore.

Then from the kitchen came the vision he had searched so far and wide for.
He asked stepmother what she'd lied for
To say the three of them were all.
A flash, a crash, there was the gown, and then he saw her bare right flipper,
And on the left, a crystal slipper…
The girl he'd danced with at the ball.

The stepmother feigned regret that they had sadly so misjudged her,
T'was for her good that they'd begrudged her,
But to a prince one shouldn't lie.
On her wedding day the trio met the fate they should have dreaded,
They were arrested and beheaded,
And Cindy never blinked an eye.

The wedding feast and celebration were the grandest in the nation,
The king and queen felt jubilation,
Their son was "normal", after all.
They could retire and the crown would be passed down to their descendants,
Their kid, grandkids, and co-dependents,
They were so glad they'd had that ball.

But on their wedding night the prince confirmed his sexual confusion,
And forced them both to the conclusion,
Theirs was no fairy tale romance.
But still they made the marriage work, although they had no little nippers,
Sometimes he wore her gown and slippers,
And Cinderella wore the pants.

So, in conclusion, Cinderella got her semi-happy ending,
In spite of all the rules I'm bending
To tell her tale and make it new.
It wasn't meant to be so grand,
But what my muse commands, I do,
And now in bidding fond adieu,
My hat is off to those of you
Who stuck it out and read it through.

The End

Premium Member Empty Nester

The time has come, the nest is bare.
The little ones have grown and flown elsewhere.
The house once filled with laughter, turmoil and noise
now echoes silence, with peace heralding different joys.

The rooms once cluttered with toys and books
are now empty and tidy, mementos put away for good.
The walls that once echoed with cries and screams
now stand as silent expanses, the noises lost in dreams.

The days once spent in a flurry of activity for dependents
now stretch out before us, open and free, for us as co-defendants.
At last we can do what we really want to do for ourselves,
with memories much cherished put in their place on shelves.

The future ahead may be uncertain, empty and new.
But I am ready to embrace it, to start anew.
To rediscover myself, to explore and grow in the pruned thinned out space
To follow my heart with you, wherever it may go.

For though the nest may be empty and bare
my heart is full to the brim, with memories to share.
And as I look back on the years gone by
I smile, knowing I did my best, with love in my nest.

Death's Indiscriminate

Death never favours
Death does not discriminate between
Saints and sinners
losers and winners
Princes and paupers
followers or leaders
Dependents or
breadwinners
The fatter or thinner
Those who over ate of life's banquet
and those who austerely skipped its dinner.
Or the healed and the healers
the kinder or the meaner
The angels of death almost acting
as finders keepers
Today to lie in shrouds and coffins
yesterday's pall bearers
But many sigh with relief
when it kills the killers
It's upto us to part from the world
as loved good doers
Ah death may just knock
at anybody's lock.
Death is indiscriminate
yet curse it not
for it's a mere transition
to another new more perfect world
We didn't enjoy
coming into this world either
judging from all that bawling we did as newborns

When we're born we cry
but our folks happily rejoice
but we don't when we die
when our folks weep in mourning voice.
As human bones upon death gather dust
and are merged and lost in the earth's crust
The souls fly to heaven coz they must.

Seven Generalities of Single Adults Without Dependents:

1. Mortality Recognition
2. Hedonism
3. Apathy
4. Restlessness
5. Historic Amnesia
6. Recklessness/Experimentation
7. Meta-Identity

Magwinya Woman

She wakes up before dawn. Mounts
her cardbox cubicle on the pavement
at a street corner. It is chilly and windy.

Without delay she pours cooking oil
into the aluminum container perched
on a three-legged stand under which
there are popping flames of fire.

In the yellow bowl she stirs the flour
with vigour . The fire is warming her up.
With her hands she squeezes the flour
into fist-sized lumps and drowns
them into the blistering oil .

Over a short space of time the blazing
oil turns the floury swellings into brown
round buns commonly known as magwinyas.
With her fork she pierces each baked brown
roll and shrugs it off into another vessel.

She yawns. The heat is soothing. It is coaxing.
She has to sell these chignons to eke out a living.
A single parent with four dependents. Like a thief
something sweeps her away. Siesta says sister let us go…

Her mouth is agape, there is a cascade of saliva
going down her chin , down where lies her vessel. The
sun’s rays are peeping. Her customers of school children
and factory workers halt and scream, “wow!”…and proceed.

The Fake Ticket

To all of common ancestry
All cousins to be sought
Who bear the line within my vein
Legitimate or not

Akin to or by marriage
Even once or twice behooved
Descendants and dependents
Even forcibly removed

The fondest of all memories
Of days gone by alas
I won the free kin lottery
You can all go kiss my yass

You scoundrels and you liars
Always said I was a fake
That i laid down with my cousin
And the cow at cavan lake

I'm gonna take my scratch and win
Down to the five and dime
When I get back you best be packing
Much more stuff this time

Should I pack for nasty weather
Are we leaving very soon
I care less what you take with you
Just so you're gone by noon

Thank you for the lovely gift
You spent your last two bucks
So where you land upon your rass
I couldn't give two trucks

But if I croak along the way
Or drop upon return
You all can have my fortune
Dizzy trucks you'll get your turn

I suppose some readers might not get the joke. But it's been going around the internet now for many years. In most novelty stores, joke shops and gift shops, you can buy a phony winning scratch ticket. Has it ever happened to you? Get one for a friend. I highly recommend it.

Silly State

Our silly state of paranoia,
Are leaders here to annoy ya?
Ghosts of government past,
We've had enough drivel to last!
Our systems need to improve,
Building bias, not a good groove,
Kids are born colour-blind,
They teach oldies their great minds.
We're ashamed of our politicians,
Any excuse today? Like superstition?
Then there's youth unemployment,
Mendicants at charity, welfare dependents,
Our silly start of paranoia,
Are politicians sent to annoy ya?

Children having children, promoted by our liberal laws
Congress taking tax money and playing Santa Claus
Third generation dependents don’t work, don’t even try
Sit home, collect assistance, stay home and multiply

Politicians have no conscience, the damage that they do
Their pockets getting larger while screwing me and you
You’ll be punished for working, it doesn’t fit their mold
They want a nation of dependents, doing what they’re told

They want you to be silent, please don’t ever rock the boat
They will choose your health care and ram it down your throat
They will have their own plan because they are the elite
We all should be thankful just to grovel at their feet

Under their new healthcare plans, let the patriots beware
Dissidents, prisoners and terrorists will get the better care
They found the funding for it, claiming it’s the only way
They’ll just screw the working man and take it from his pay

If you struggle and go to college, you’ll be forever in debt
But start manufacturing children and see all you can get
Those who will not work have found a bed of clover
Killing off the working man, socialists have taken over

We need to help the people who cannot help themselves
For permanent couch potatoes, we’re not Santa’s little elves
Punished for achievement, ambition is treated like a vice
Sit down, shut up, don’t think and they will treat you nice

Obedient subservient robots is what the elected officials seek
They want inconsequential citizens to be dehumanized and meek
They’ll tell us what to think and teach us to stoop and bow
If you think times were bad before, just take a look at US now

I started to remember around four
Even the breathing began at the embryonic stage
My parents gave me complete human parts
To survive a long trip
In an unpredictable future… Upon destiny!

I grew up in the serious working ethics
And assisted the impermanent dependents.
In the past, I was under the strict regulations
But most times I was free-minded!
I feel more and more free
While moving to the golden age.

The sky was not only a nice working place
Though enhanced freedom
To fly like the plane in the air
To float like the boat in the river

Proud of myself to be a hard-working man
Live a simple life… insufficient once in a while
In any situations I always bear a pen:
A loyal friend during my long trip;
Move together until the final day.
Hopefully the footprints of a free-minded life
Will reach out the next generations!

Rising Contenent

I was holding my slasher In the cold wet season
That's what we call it here
Then i saw his head coming from the east
Like the morning sun rising from sleep
Wounded like a might hunter
He stood head to toe
With a spear in his right hand
And a fruits in his left

The defeat on democracy was on his face
His begging spirit was gone
The story of disease no more
I saw Africa stand
All villagers came
To witness walking houses
With four balls rolling on the ground
Made by this great giant

He was no longer trembling as he spoke
We had his voice speak to our souls
We once down trodden
But now we arise
We looked as though cursed
But blessed we stand
We walked as dependents
But today we give
He spoke with Charisma and we all
Shouted

Yes Africa we rise
To change the world we live in
Africa we stand tall
To impact souls
To impart morals
To claim our heritage
As we mentor the worlds
That breast fed us for millenniums
Today
The Man, Africa
Stands and will never fall

Premium Member They Were

We always found some magic in the little things in life
Never worrying about material things the way people do now
There was no extra income, barely making ends meet
But we always made it through the hard times somehow
Struggling was a way of life, not a reason to complain
Helping out your neighbor was just the way that things were done
Men worked in the mines, women worked in the home
Everyone was busy long after the setting sun
There were no governmental dependents waiting for a check
No entitlement minded robots like we have today
We were responsible for our own support
The world owed us nothing, we all paid our own way
They were better days just struggling to survive
We had a sense of purpose, thanking God we were alive
Sometimes I cry for yesterday when life was so very hard
Our lives may have been embattled but our wills were never scarred
We had little materialistically, without a spoon to stir
If you ask if they were harsher days, I’ll tell you yes, they were
We had love and understanding no matter what would occur
If you ask me if they were better days, I’ll tell you yes, they were.

Dependent

Dependent

How long will you lamely follow
Determined to eat and to swallow?
Should you run away from toil,
Who will fill your pot with oil?

Not as dependents (mouth agape;
Greedy and garrulous as an ape),
But, as a benefactor in this land
Who, to toil, employs his hand-

Whose arm and back is trained
To badly twist but never sprained!
