Herring Run At Cape Cod Canal

I could not paint a better picture,
Than the one in front of me,
Of twists and turns of the canal,
Bordered by endless trees.

A warm day with a slight breeze,
Giving the grass moving shadows of leaves,
Multiple species of birds stop by,
Some on the ground, some in the sky.

Gulls, Terns and Cormorants dive,
For crustaceans and fish of various size,
While sparrows, robins and occasional chickadees,
Grab insects on the fly.

Parades of boats, barges and ships,
Fascinate and entertain our time,
Sitting by the canal is more than a pastime,
It's watching life at its prime.

Fishermen, bicyclists, joggers and tourists,
They enjoy this special place,
Taking it all in; they embrace,
Nature at its purest!

Premium Member Wanda Woman

She takes her wand a sugar cane long
And waves it in the air singing a song
She likes to make her heroic cape
From collard green leaves that she crochet

She makes her brazier from coconuts
With licorice straps sticky to touch
Her bald head blessed with a crown
from grapevines with grapes hanging down

Her skin is thin from all the chemo
She is stronger than superman in her soul-food soul
She uses cotton candy to make her socks
Shoes so fancy by Goldilocks

Bet you never again will see
A skirt made of dried fruit candy
Yellow sun rays shine on her face
Fighting cancer with food in more than one way

Tales of Light - 2 Point 1

I
Without computing Light Years (LY)
Rain could join Space-Time
For making accessible rainbows

I walked under - the greatest Arch
White-clad sprites streamed promises -
edible flavors, rainbow colors

     "Passion's Lustful Cape"

Selfish motives tempted heart
you threw caution to wild wind
Passion's lustful cape, Choked our sweet love drape
broken pieces wound for you have sinned.

Selfish feelings robbed two souls
carved in stone from childhood intertwine
Choked our sweet love drape, Passion's lustful cape
cloaked in sorrow as tears feast to dine.

Selfish emotions raged on
careless whispers uttered through long night
Passion's lustful cape, Choked our sweet love drape
smothered breath until out of sight.

Selfish ways destroy persona
yet you made me a stronger lady
Choked our sweet love drape, Passion's lustful cape
found love without Gentleman Shady.

Easter On the Cape Flats

On Good Friday after church we eat
curried pickled fish and hot crossed buns
and drink black coffee because we share
in the painful agony of the Lord.
On Easter Sunday after church we braai *
meat and drink like fish and rejoice
in the victory over death and grave.

The Man On Cape Flattery

Rum bottle nods with sanction
on gentle sway
The old dog spat snuff juice
that took wind
Puffins drift below the haze
Cape Flattery
is no tale

Chocolate on a white man,
the solitary wile
brackish breeze
wanders along impressions,
dints in a sea chiseled face
Heads pressed vigorously
to confine what coat resembles
beneath salted rags
Today he lives as Makah

Fair-haired;
Stained by sun and sea
Brows fall low
to hush the truth
conveyed by green eyes
Sun at high noon
jump back from the fluid sapphire
The sea, it whispers
never a lie

Sea lions yap
Snuff juice took wind
Towards Tatoosh Island
rigid draft pushes stares
Aged salt grinned at old thoughts
A child hugs heavy thighs
and bawls
It is hard for him to witness
What these elements can do to a man
Rum
Sea,
and sun

The Table Mountain of Cape Town

THE TABLE MOUNTAINS

To what shall I compare thee
Oh, awesome sprawling masterpiece of nature?
Is it the Sinai of Mosaic Israel
Or the pyramid of Egypt?

Welcome to the end of the world, or is it the beginning?
Where mountains wear crown of splendor
Adorned with shimmering brightness of early morn sun
When heaven’s tip kisses mountain top
With lips of nature in her most pristine, undiluted self
With runaway innocence beyond the earth reproach and corruption
Graceful, bold and gigantically imposing
Its royal robe perfectly cut of
Meadows and greenery tended by the dew of the dawn

Come view the mountains in the cape
Come, and go, cleansed and cured of all impurities
Trapped in its sharp, cold and warm embrace
Come, see the Sinai
In the west of the black south

Oh! Is it burning smoke or icy cold steam
That engages the cloudy sky at the mountain top?
Or is it the blazing sun, icy steam and thickly fog in trinitary unison?
A trio in a race of space
Wow! Its dawn at sunrise
The mount stirs and time stand still
sun submerged, the steamy, smoky fogs lifted
Revealing a golden morn like the first day of creation
Come see another wonder of the world in South Africa
In the fortress expanse of Cape Town
Cape Town, here I am!
Enthralled, entranced, I am endeared!!!

Cape Cod Boy

A warring feat
expands beneath
petite and huge contends,
a unique line
tugging the brine
taunting as it suspends,
a juvenile
bear naught a smile
a glimpse enigma lends,
too close to shore
new hopes implore
that cod and haddock wends,
true tasty meats
fresh scene unseats
entreaties pleased extends,
aspect well made
fulfilled persuade
the wait, the catch godsends.

Poetriat of Eastern Cape Miniature

If the sun shines
Vicious that the hands could hold its heat
If the wind whirls and wails
Turbulent, with fierceness of rushing water
If it becomes icy cold
That it could freeze the mind
If the sky, sullen and sly
Suddenly wear, without a tear
And the heaven unlatches its showers
Unceasing regardless of the reigning season
If cold and heat engaged
In a no conquest duel
If there are mown meadow mountains
More than human habitat
With hills spreading and sprawling
Sparingly shares expanse of space
If the valleys are fast and vast
Height-locked by conniving hills and mounts
And the plains, plain and plane
Laid bare of thickets and thorns
If you keep ascending and descending
In rhythmical crescendo and decrescendo
If the landscape is strewn
With mingling lily white egrets and sheepish African cows
If summer, winter, spring and autumn
Rolls, in seconds, minutes and hours
If all faces reflect Mandela
And most voices resonate his accent

Then, it is Alice, another wonderland!
The little Xhosa town; the University town of Fort Hare!!

I Know You Cape Breton

Hey, how are you

	Have you heard this one?
	Where there’s a midnight sun

		Listen to me now,
		Listen up young one
		One day I left someone

	Where did you say
	you were going?
	She looked so sad
	with her tears showing

showing her a map of you,
		around the world to you,
		flying so fast at you,
I left my Papua New Guinea,
my home sweet home for you.

			So... like déjàvu,
			You look so...
			Do I know you?
			No, don't say no...
			I know you!
			you were in my dreams

	You know that moment,
	when you see her,
	smile,
	the light,
	that shines,
	that lifts you high
	into outer space so high

oh how I longed for you,
Just you and me,
your seasons, my wonder..
I wonder when thunders,
remind my mind,
my sleeping child,
suddenly awake,
But Nova's away..

	They say people say,
	you'd miss home,
	you'll miss POM..
	you said no,
	No, No, No
	you'll be home
	From winter to Autumn
	Just you and I
	you'll be fine

		So when the leaves fall,
		Or when snow falls,
		Remember me,
		Remember us,
		Our time, may be dying,
		Maybe someday I'll find,
		My child no child,
		and the sun so fine,
		I'll be home bound,
			To my Ocean playground..

See the Victorian style homes of an earlier day.
There are plenty of them around Cape May.
The sea birds seem to laugh as they fly.
Ubiquitously, they fill the summer sky.
Frolic in the sand and the surf by the sea.
This is the southernmost tip of New Jersey.
Walk along the boardwalks and taste the salt water taffy.
This vacation spot is a place for the whole family.

God, Bless Cape Town

Of all the places on this earth,
it’s you sweet love, that gave me birth.

You (quietly) my ears awake.
Yes (quietly) of love you spake.
Sharing all your memory
of times and tides and reverie.
But most of all,
your thoughts of God.
Our Wondrous Father. Heavenly Lord.

Yes, so the grace of God had planned
that I hear return, to write with command –
of thoughts my soul, my words inspire
of this beauty of life and my heart’s desire –
To praise God’s Wonderful Name.

(Dear God, bless her beauty. I ask in Jesus Name.)

Of all the places on this earth,
It’s you sweet love, that gave me birth.

Demon In a Red White and Blue Cape

I'd rather be trapped in an elevator with Hannibal Lecter than be in the presence of Homelander

He flew inside a doom plane full of innocent people
He stop the terrorist from commandeering and high jacking the plane
The pilot was shot in the back of the head and the last terrorist vaporize by our savior red shiny eyes
The plane was damage beyond repair somewhere around forty thousand feet in the air; give or take.

True colors started to emerge from beneath the underbelly of a damage inner diamond core soul
His partner Maeve attempted to save two young souls from utter destruction and non-existence but her request were denied
If Homelander had allowed the two souls to be saved more than likely they would have reveal to the entire world his true identity and secret
Which were that among us mortal being on this planet we call home there lies a demon in out mist who is covered in rose pedals and love by it's citizens

Abandoning all those doom souls I watched from both near and afar as did most others in utter disbelief and horror
With great powers comes great responsibility or so I were told; yet the utter disregard for human souls hunts me even to this day
The screams for a savior that never were; a pretender cloak in a super hero's uniform flew away as quickly as he could with his partner in crime
The plane continue to fall further and further as the wind sheer started to blow away the fuselage and the plane begin to break up

My powers of teleportation were of no used to these doom souls as they only allowed for me to utilized this incredible ability
I had sat quietly as the carnage which is Homelander and his partner Maeve left all those people to die; the darkness of evil I had witness among others
Even closer to the ocean now I could smell the salt water fumigating through the cracks and broken glass windows as the plane continue to break apart
The neutral evil which is what Homelander personifies nauseated me to my core as I teleported away in shame to one of the Hawaiian beaches and yet the nightmare will forever remain.

On the Cape

Though some New Yorkers find it odd
To take vacation on Cape Cod
Due to miles in such profusion,
I don't jive with that conclusion.

Yes, it's hours away to reach
And you can find a closer beach,
But it's unique in all its charms,
Embracing guests with open arms.

The stately homes of weathered gray
Gaze out on ocean, sound and bay;
And oh, that chowder! Ah, that fish!
Yum, that ice cream! All delish!

Wander in the cutesy stores.
Gather shells on sandy shores.
Watch the frolic of the seals,
Fighting seagulls for their meals.

Listen to the waves that crash,
A sound to savor and rehash.
Those who seek a true escape
Should look no further than the Cape.

P.S. Here's a helpful tip
To travelers who plan this trip:
If Cape Cod figures in your plans,
Just beware of Red Sox fans!

The Cape

Superheroes,
moms, dads, and those that we love,
and we can not see... are flawed.
They try hard to hide, their inequities...
in order to give us the illusion
of safety, and security,
in a world that is unsafe,
and very insecure.

Red capes like the movies,
blue capes like the marines,
the color has little to do with the job.
It is a career,
that a parent signs up for,
without knowing
there is no escape clause at all,
no rip cord to pull,
no final five-gallon tank of gas...
to fill back up,
no...
and only the hard ground
to land upon,
when things fail.

Sitting there, or laying there,
on the soil, dirt, dust... of our lives.
We wonder if there was more
we could have done,
or even more, we could do.
But we are here, and then gone.
We do not live forever in this life,
it is the next... heaven,
that things are as they should be.
Here, things are exactly as they are
and we need to know;
the rules, we must follow
the lines, we must not cross...
before teaching time is over,
and we are grown,
left to the whim of the wind.
