POD 1 October 2025

On a Wet Cape Town Street

A hat like Melania's
casts her face in shadow—
a yellow bouquet clasped in her hands
above a fluttering white skirt—
the full moon has her back
as he passes by.

Dear Suzzette, Congrats on POTD! It stayed with me longer than I expected. Something about the way you framed the moment made it almost feel familiar, but not in a way I could put my finger on. Nicely done. Autumn Blessings, Suzzette, Daniel

Suzette, your tone and carefully placed words paint a lovely moment of opportunity or maybe a twist of fate. I believe like Bob Dylan, "A saxophone someplace far off played." Very nice! Congrats on your POTD.
