Under the Cancun Sun

Under the Cancun sun,
on the Yucatan peninsula,
relaxing at the Blue Bay Club,
sipping Margaritas.
Glorius early morning beach,
I set out for a morning run,
soft white sand tingles beneath my feet,
under the cancun sun.
This unsurpassable paradise,
the Caribbean sea of turquoise waves,
I dreamingly feast my eyes,
upon this magical place,
right beneath the Cancun sun.

A Comic Strip Cartoon

One day in mid June, in far off Rangoon.
The hand drawn baboon, a comic cartoon,
Was flown to the moon, by hot air balloon.
Then late afternoon, while in his pontoon.
A massive monsoon, blew like a typhoon.
He fired his harpoon, what's next! sometime soon.

    4/ 28/ 2017.

( The last adventure of baboon continued )

With Mayday maroon, tied to his galoon
He ditched his cardoon, but ate the dried prune.
It was oppotune, with some good fortune.
He missed a sand dune, and surfed the lagoon.
Then with a soup spoon, rowed home to Cancun.
He now plays basoon, in some old saloon.

This was added after the contest was judged.
The first of May twenty seventeen.

Off Rangoon

Off Rangoon a typhoon my balloon
it has strewn. Unfortun-ately, soon
this spittoon, this mad drain;
becomes a hurricane
then spits me out, a prune, off Cancun.

I've seen the Grand Canyon, Cancun, Taj Mahal
World Plaza (both phases), Broadway curtain call
I watched when Hank Aaron sent that little ball
'cross opposite fence the Babe's record to fall.
I've bathed in Bridal Falls
Niagara'd 'til day called....
But I've never seen a lighthouse
'cept in pictures.

Room With a View

Room with a view

I'll never forget the day we met,
my neck still hurts from turning my head,
First thing I know you were looking back,
You almost gave me a heart attack

I turned the corner and there you were,
looking all shy and so demure
I knew right then you were made for me
Isn't it funny how life can be?

Chorus 1
Who cares about a room with a view?
When I can stay here and look at you!
Who needs a view of Montserrat?
When I can see that you're looking back
Who cares about a room with a view?
When I can stay here and look at you
Who needs a view of Monaco?
When were here alone with the lights down low!

(you know that it's true yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
(you know that it's true yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)

You and I have been all around the world,
Only been with you 'cause you're my kind of girl
Don't want to be with no one but you
Who cares about a room with a view?

(you know that it's true yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
(you know that it's true yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)

Years gone by and you still turn my head,
I'd still rather look at you instead
I'll look at you till all fades to black,
as long as I see you're looking back

Chorus 2
Who cares about a room with a view?
When I can stay here and look at you
Who needs a view of Iguazu?*
When I can stay here and look at you
Who wants to see all of Cancun?
When we're all alone here in our room!

(you know that it's true yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
(you know that it's true yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)

Years gone by and you still turn my head,
I'd still rather look at you instead
I'll look at you till all fades to black,
as long as I see you're looking back

(you know that it's true yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
(you know that it's true yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)

repeat and fade to zero

With Dolphins, she swam! A glorious day,
for granddaughter, so many years ago.
I watched two gentle beings interplay,
each, nose to nose and eye to eye- aglow.

This was her highlight of our Cancun trip-
to touch the Dolphin's satiny smooth skin,
feel warm emotion kissing, lip to lip,
and see the gentle love in his sweet grin.

Our Dolphins, much like us, can understand-
more than we seem to give them credit for.
The care for humankind at their command;
intelligent, they show their loving core.

This special time will stay with her and me-
forever, as our treasured memory.

Peace

On my flight to Cancun
I sat between a pillow and a cello.
The pillow's name was Willow and she wanted to sleep soon.
The cello's name was Fellow and he was quite odd.
He sang and sang and I just nod.
When we were halfway to Cancun the stewardess, who was a baboon,
walked around with food.
When she got to me, she woke up pillow and put him in a mood.
then he couldn't sleep, so he counted sheep.
Finally, cello was mellow.
I didn't say a peep.
We all fell in a deep sleep.

Free Cee Am I the Only One Who Knocks Off Half of a Pint Bottle of Vodka At Three a M

LASHES TO ASHES IN SLOW MOTION

Might I please present myself as a prologue to death
Because unless I am terribly wrong…….
I can’t have too terribly long
And I’ve been lazy too long
But I don’t have too long to act crazy
Incredibly and indisputably inane
And drive other people institutionally insane

My days dry up like clay caskets caught in the Cancun sun
Leading to nights that usually end by me ending up with whiskey whisking away yet another weary evening
Witnessed and coerced by two dead soldiers made of glass
Who kicked my ass the night before
When fright came before a blackout
And darkness led to a morning of foul tasting coffee and a donut of doubt
What secret could the night before grasp tightly in its clutch?
Will people say my performance was a bit too much?
Is there a lady somewhere that I wouldn’t recognize if her eyes were made of fire with whom I let desire declare two bodies bare?
And precisely what did she and I share?
Was it something controlled by a lack of control?
Did we meld in mind, body and soul?
Did seduction succeed in its mission to maraud our minds and give making love the meaning it was meant to have?
Is there a lady out there who borrowed a snippet from my life and may have been complicit in the death of a dream?
Did we watch the world fly in fast forward together?
And sometimes in slow motion in order that our time together would be extended by the exclusion of the relativity of time
And a second could sing for as long as it takes a wedding bell’s voice to fade into the hollowness of night
And a minute might meander down the middle of a mercurial moment and remain there until you sigh deeply and chase the stars away for the morning’s sake
And oh to the music of mysticism your countenance is wont to make
Sung by a choir of questions and a chorus of conclusions
While a flute would fleetingly fade into forgotten confusion
Alas, my days decline by death’s design and do more than demoralize me
My only request is that you disregard my genius and charming manner and please don’t memorialize me
Nor commemorate me in any way
Simply cremate me and toss me away!

Don'T Ask, Just Live It

Don't be asking me that Baby!
Reason for life, not a clue!
Who's telling me, the blonde on the tube?

She wants material to accumulate,
diamonds, soccer babies, big houses
social climbs, and trips to Cancun.
Collections of men! Fast cars!
Toys of every kind, and Botox injection
What a bunch of silly fools!

Preachers say life is to temper our soul.
They all talking like they know.
What if they’re wrong?
Then what's the choir gonna sing?

Professors say for knowledge to gain.
Which knowledge do they mean man?
Ain't no, one, true knowledge about nothing.
You ivory tower sittin, elitist ass!

No, forget the question and the reason, Baby.
You’re a figment of the imagination
Of someone that never existed anyway.
Just live it.

Yes, Little Shar, There Is a Santanic Claws!

You bet he's real,
He oft scratches at my door...
Not like Christy's cheesey racoons...
Guess she don't rate the grand tour...
I told him to go stalk Christy...
While she's listening to
Shiveree's "Goodnight Moon"..
(I'd recommend to everyone, on You Tube-
phenomenal tune and video!!! Just ask Christy...)
Some people may say no,
There really is no "Santanic Claws"-
To which I'd say "That's rubbish"!
And give them reason to then pause...
I wish it was a dream....
And I was z'in' logs...
But trust me, there's a cause...
Don't know what is it,
But beware just the same...
Maybe one night...
He'll call out your name...
Believe me,
That would be a shame...
And yes, Shar,
I live in the forest
Of Hansel and Gretel Cold Cuts,
With witches flyin' about,
Nowadays they use vacs...
Seems brooms are now obsolete,
And they found they were fended
off from their witch attacks...
And now their's a rumor go'in round,
They got that young "Potter" clown...
Knocked him clear off his darn broom,
And he hit the ground....
True, many noises, I do hear,
But let me just say,
It's the people upstairs who
scare me the most...
Even till this late day...
See I live in a trailer...
And no "upstairs" there should be...
I just wonder what it is up there....
That is surely stalking me....
And yes, Heide...
The remote is still gone...
Betcha those witches were involved..
They think me they can con...
Speaking of can con...
Thing I'll visit CanCun,
I better head out real soon...
Surely before the
Next full moon..
Egads, I just thought...
Halloween is upon us...
And I wish I had bought...
Some garlic clusters,
Or whatever you use..
For protection from witches
'Cause I don't wanna
fall prey...
To those Sons of a B_tches..

A Sad Christmas

I wanted a Corvette
I haven't seen it yet
I wanted a Rolex
I am perplexed
Another year
No Rolex here
I'm beginning to fume
Got no trip to Cancun
Everything I asked for
Never made it thru my door
I wanted a diamond ring
But haven't seen a thing
I expected a mink coat
Or a speed boat
Something sexy and lacey
Perhaps a spending spree at Macey's
No candy, sweets, wine or beer
Nothing to smile about, nothing to cheer
I haven't bought a gift in many a year
Why should I, no present ever comes here
So here I sit, in the middle of the rug
Who needs Christmas, Bah Humbug!

Feelin’ stressed about the usual crap?
Tension 'bout as bad as it gets?
Once we breathe in the tequila breeze,
We won’t have any regrets.
We’ll just be lyin’ in the Mayan sun,
Work on our tans and not get anything done.
Then we’ll make love inside the Palace of the Moon.
Cancun.

Gonna learn the local idiom,
Lost in blissful sweet oblivion.
Carve our initials in obsidian.
Cancun.

Got an itch so bad it’s giving you fits?
Better go on and scratch.
We’ll fish the waters where the tides never rise
And release what we catch.
The Gulf of Mexico is everyone’s friend;
Just so long as we have pesos to spend.
We’ll mariachi till we’re sick of the tune.
Cancun.

We’ll say Buenos dios, and por favor
Like children in a candy store.
Hey, our waiter’s from El Salvador!
Cancun.

Cancun

Cancun and the sun
Escaping from Vancouver's cold.
They call us snowbirds
Flying south for the warmth.

But a week for us is enough.
You miss the cold after
Seven days of heat.

From 28 degrees
I'm back to minus five.

I once met a sweet girl in Cancun
We made love in a lovely lagoon
I’ll never forget her,
But all for the better
I got out of Cancun none too soon.
