Best Arf Poems

Beautiful Creatures

 meow meow
i called the kitten
who have never eaten
and i say
 meow meow

 arf arf
barked the dog
who got jealous
and he say
 arf arf

 tweet tweet
birds that fly
greeted Hi
and they sing
 tweet tweet

 creak creak

who could have
made all of them
made me smile
heart's overwhelm

 swish swish
fish on the pond
flapped their tails
and they go
 swish swish

  roar roar
and we got scared
the mighty lion
rumbled
 roar roar

 hiss hiss
a snake came out
the bushes
and goes
 hiss hiss

 broom broom
as I drive over
the wilderness
 broom broom

we've all seen
the masterpiece
now I wonder
who is the
great artist?

Dog Gone Languages

Dog Gone Languages

All dogs bark except the Dingo
Humans think they know the lingo
But truth be told – reality
It’s a different sound in each country
In Arabic – hau-hau, how-how
Armenian – haf-haf
In Cantonese – wow-wow, wong-wong
Bulgarian – jaff-jaff
In English it’s arf-arf, bow-wow
In Malay it’s gong-gong
The Germans hear wuff-wuff, vow-vow
The Thais just hear hong-hong
I’d give you more but that’s enough
You need to know this other stuff
Dog barking has one common vice
A dog will always speak it twice
No matter how we hear the bark
Between two dogs it hits the mark
They seem to understand all others
Better than we do our brothers

Patches of choco brown and black wrap my fur
with long hotdog body, I roll in loops,
“ Hershey” is what they fondly name me
flopping ears as mice and ants rush for a kill…
and with the kids, nose snuggles for tickle feast
while Mom runs amuck with suds on her hair;
these bug me, bathing and trimming of nails.

When holidays come, it’s fashion show time
like a German spy, I nibble the costumes
feigning sleep as teeth snarl those threads!
Loyal and cute, my almond eyes wink to charm…
but bark I do when strangers knock , and Hannah,
our neighbor trembles as I “arf” at her mere scent.

I love to sneak out the gate to play and goof off;
one day, a runaway thrill off the street did harm…
a rogue snatched me , bugged my neck
hearing faint shouts, “ Hershey, come back!”

Oh,I miss the awful hair washes, patter of kids’ feet,
warm cuddles, and dog gone evening tricks.
For eight years, I reigned as a Weenie princess…
Now, I look at the stars and touch my family’s faces.

-----------

*it’s been 3 years since our dachshund, Hershey,
got lost. My nephews and I miss her!

Raining Cats and Dogs

This past week it was raining cats and dogs,
prayed about it to not get so annoyed,
one car totaled other in infirmary,
husband tomorrow having triple bypass surgery,
Meow, Arf, Splat go land some more in the bog.

A Procrastinators Day
by Robert (Bob) Moore

So now it takes me twice as long, to do half of what I did
the joints will creak, and muscles ache, not kidding you our kid
when I get up in’t morning, and see what must be done
gotta tell you here and now, I wish I could still run

A bit of this, a bit of that, the washing to hang out
my backs already aching, and so far I’ve done nowt
maybe first a cuppa tea, and a bit of jam on toast
hanging out should not take long, ‘arf an ‘our at most

Now it’s gone ten thirty, what else has to be done
soon be time for a cuppa tea, and a bit of Chelsea Bun
then maybe read the paper, that will take an‘ our or two
then maybe after dinner, I’ll decide what’s next to do

It’s now about one-thirty, and dinners almost done
just got to give the plate a scrub, have a bit more of that bun
maybe just a cuppa, to help the bun go down
and then I’ll get that washin’ in, the clouds are hangin’ roun’

Almost three-o-clock now, Coronation Street is on
I might just sit and watch it, don’t know where the day has gone
and now it’s nearly five-o-clock, better think about my tea
for tomorrow is another day, another busy one for me

Premium Member A Black Lab Named Ken

*****

I adopted a friendly old dog,
     a black Lab named Ken
He's not much of a watch dog
     but we're great friends

Ken, has a favorite red ball
he takes it everywhere he goes
even to the vet beside the mall
A vision of smiles playing in the snow

One night, I was sleeping in bed
     awaken to glass breaking
Bang!.. Yelp!.. My heart sank in dread
thud, thud, thud, my body was shaking

My life flashed before my eyes.
frozen in time, a prisoner in the dark.
I fear death! Will no one hear my cries?
Then reality brought me back, "Arf"!

I felt something hit my chest,
     thud, bouncing on the rug.
"Arf," Ken! I should have guest
you scared me, I gave him a hug.

The house is a battle zone
Ken!, You're a bad boy, No! more ball.
His ears went down as he groans,
-dropping the ball at my feet, excited, "Arf", rlay rall" (play ball)

Tea Time In Leicester

“Ay up me duck” sed me dad to me mam,
“Ah'v gorr’us some cobs and some nice Walkers ham”;
“The market was manic” he continued to speak’,
“I popped up to Linekers' to get fruit for the week”;
He came into the room and sat down next to me,
while mam poured him a nice mug of fresh brewed tetley.
“I popped int'a the aye-cross on me way back”;
“Just to av a swift arf, you know, just for the craic”,
“'I was playin' the frootie and just mindin' me own”,
“While some nutter beyind me 'ad a raj down the phone”;
“Ee was gettin all mardy to 'is bird or 'is mate”,
“cause they'd sed Jamie Vardy weren’t all that great”'
“well if you could've herd it, it got pretty scary”,
“he was gettin quite heated and seriously larey!”
Then me dad sat there chuckling away to himself
While me mam got the butter down off of the shelf.
He looked over at me still adorned with a grin,
“How are you anyway lad, and where av you bin?”
“Ah'v bin up the town' I said 'riding round Vicky Park”,
“giving our lad a croggy on me bike till the dark”.
And that's how it went just me mam, dad and me
As we ate up our cobs and had a few cups of tea;
It might not be Rio or L.A. or Rome,
But teatime in Leicester will always be home.

Silver

SILVER
Silver is the twinkling stars
Silver is spilled moonlight
Silver is a fairy’s wings
ready to take flight-
A baby’s laugh
A wizard’s staff
A puppy’s ‘arf!’
Snowflakes and
angel cakes
and silver spherical decorates.
The highest pitch of a piano’s tinker
Is silver
And the sea is silver
When the gentle rays touch the water.
Silver is a penny tossed into a wishing well
Then wishes are silver
Sparkling distantly
But never getting fewer.
Silver is a teardrop
Silver is a sight
Silver is the most beautiful sword
Owned be the noblest knight.
Silver is a ray of hope
You can always cling on
Silver is the budding dreams
of countless childhood memories.
Silver is the spiraling,
Never-ending flow
Of gentle fluffy snow.
You can taste silver
If you truly believe
In the land of fantasy
On Christmas eve.

The Chicken Bank, Foiled

Dave...The armed robber
Bank robber
Back in sixty-three
Would leave me sleeping muvva
For much skullduggery

Raiding banks, petrol stations
And very auften...I swear
He even raided
The new joint
Called............ Mothercare

And wake his giant angel
Who very loudly snored
With booties bonnets mittens
And cardies, she adored

One day they got raided by many Old Bill
Dave got all panicked
Bout the money he did steal

Muvva said dont worry' i know the perfect place'
(she pulled out the chicken roasting)
A grin upon 'er face

She stuffed its hole with money
Whilst Dave let in, The Bill
She stood there trying not to grin
As Dave looked slightly ill

They searched high and low
Even toilet system
But never checked the fowl
Most glorious, which
Very smoothly glistened

They even praised Ma's roast
The aroma was devine
They said how they hoped
Theirs would be arf as fine

Off drove the coppers
Ma, Dave raced to the chicken
Pulled out all the dollar
Whilst happily finger licking

DEATH IN A PARIS PISSOIRE
I'm all alone in my sunset
I'm as alone as I can get
I thought I'd die but haven't yet
things are just as bad as they can be.

I'm all alone I cry and cry
I'm so along I want to die
don't want to live but don't know why
things are just as bad as they can be.

I'm all alone I done my best
I made the grade but failed the test
I lost it all throughout my quest
things are just as bad as they can be.

I'm all alone here in my bed
I'm so alone I hate my head
it's hard as stone and thick as lead
things are just as bad as they can be.

I'm all alone and hurt a lot
I'm so alone I'm all I've got
my love life's always not so hot
things are just as bad as they can be.

I'm all alone and ugly too
I'm so alone my life is through
My dog hates me what can I do?
Things are just as bad as they can be.

Bow wow! Bow wow! Arf! Arf!
Grrrrrr . . . ..

Fridge Love

Sighs...
The anticipation of beloveds fridge door opens with an oh so sigh-worthy.....
PING! ! ! followed by her own generous....
Sigh
She knows i shall ravish her
She really does not mind

The heart pitter patters as the eyes forage
Bounty hunter.... bessie bunters
Eyes dance as bambi's legs
Through the forest of cheese and things that please
And the odd banana dregs

Then
Chocolate... Coca-cola, all things that
Doth so.... tease
(but im on... yet another diet) so not permitted to eat as i do so please

I hate my skinny family the ones for which i dote
For whom i loving fill said fridge
With things I'd so love to munch
but wont

My mind is starved my stomaches gutted
My soul is crushed and spat
Ill walk away with just
A
Lettuce leaf
Convince my self... that
It is tasty its just devine
It is my just dessert
And watch my child with a big ice-cream
Boy it dunn arf hurt.....

Toy War

“Tommy go on out to play,
Don't meddle with your books and toys.
Go and get your plastic gun.
and play war with all the other boys.”

Here I am a general full.
I'm Tommy and a hero see.
Bang there's one through the heart.
I die in glorious ecstasy.

“Hey Eddie! I am dead.” I said
As Eddie hit the ground.
But Eddie was preoccupied.
With what his knee had found.

God what a gash, what a sight.
You should have heard him moan.
“Hey Tommy it's cut real bad.
It's cut right to the bone.”

“Guess what happened today mum.
To little Eddie Moor.
He didn't arf hurt himself.
And we was only playing war.”

Premium Member Midnight Dreamer- -

Midnight dreamer;
I am standing in the flames of morrow;
Flesh clings to my joints;
I am on search for tomorrow;
I can’t feel my soul, soul, soul

I am burning up inside, inside, inside

Shadow dancing, fires cooling out
Daylight laughter
Night time out
I am feeling good, so good, like no one else would
No how good it is to be a midnight dreamer;

Wake up, wake up, git up, get out

Fire burning crimsons burning
I need a place to rest
Don’t wake me up, me up I am clinging to..
Clinging to my mother’s breast
I thirst for life and all that I have left

Shadow dancing, fires cooling out
Daylight laughter
Night time out
I am feeling good, so good, like no one else would
No how good it is to be a midnight dreamer;

When the flame is burning out (burning up)
I am a midnight dreamer, I’m a fireman and I am gonna put the fire out;
That’s what love is all about;
Relight the spark that kindles in the heart, the heart;
Give life a brand new start, start

Shadow dancing, fires cooling out
Daylight laughter
Night time out
I am feeling good, so good, like no one else would
No how good it is to be a midnight dreamer;
