Premium MemberLuck

Luck = opportunity + preparation.
What luck is not
Is getting what you want.
What luck is
Is surviving what you don't want.
To wish someone luck
Is merely to apply
The odds of probability
And leaving the outcome to…
Well…
Luck.

Author's note: It always amazes me how human beings can take the most benignly beautiful things and make them ugly. The Nazi swastika, arguably one of the most hated, reviled, and yet still revered by some, symbols the civilized world has ever known, is the traditional "gammadion", a symbol of good luck in the Orient and among some native American Indians.

The Tenth Twilight

Twas' a mellowing twilight on the end of the day
Where the whispers of dusk benignly sway
when the weary traveler of orange bid adieu
varnishing the sky with amber and blue
As the shadows lengthen and daylight wanes
Couldn't endure enough of what my eye gains
The chaotic screams of the day departed at the dusk
The halcyon prevails with its demandless busk
So ended the beatific nightfall
an enrapturing memory I could forever recall.

Premium MemberIt Started With A Blank Canvas

A blank canvas I marvel on
Unfolding a springtime theme,
As it yawns to life among the dawn.

Clouds part for the sun's scattered bright rays upon
Sweet tender jewels, exquisite to the eye,
Giving way to fresh full fragrance.

Fervor poetic brush strokes emerging day.
Crisp nature shades a graceful performance;
Benignly creatures in fluid form a whimsical waltz.

Premium MemberPoetry Is

Poetry is the moment when the heart,
Enters the silence and hears the loudest burst of light,
The darkest fear, the most innocent tear…
The blazing passion, the roaring of faith, the memory,
The promise, the invaluable moment between…
Today and yesterday, the mystery, the shadow, the chance
To know what it is to feel, to breath, to see, to dream.

Poetry is the story beneath the words,
The pouring out of heartbreak and the sea
Boldly spraying the haunted beach,
The echo of a prayer in the forest of words,
Soothing and silent, a soundless still, colored
By grace, truth, feelings blurred by the music –
Playing wildly and benignly, like the words
Who promise to provide a way from the heart,
Washing away the darkness and leaving a trail of light,
A trail speckled with kindness and insights,
Sprinkled with the reassurance of autumn’s sunrise
And peppered with the wonders of forever…

Poetry is alive, yet it speaks of death like a lover.
Poetry is clever, yet it is simplistic and often unheard.
Poetry is my heart, poured out to the world!

Cattle Egret

CATTLE EGRET
Makinde Adebayo Adeniyi

Silken, snow-white feathers
Slender, elegant legs
Lovely long sinuous neck
Beautiful and benignly noble head
Stout, straight, sharp beaks

The cattle egret
Seen in the dry season
In symbiosis
With cattle and the wild

Visitors to the quiet countryside
Feeding on ticks and insect
Migrating with the arrival of the rains
To distant arid land

The cattle egret
Harmless as a dove
Graceful in flight
Beautiful in sight

Her arrival, like the sweet angels
Bring the sandstorms
Dusty, dense, dry vegetation in cold weather
Interspersed with hot noons
And that sweet aroma of harmattan

Premium MemberForever My Love

Forever my love my starving heart beats
At the path of velvet red rose petals
Scattered towards the lull of satin sheets
Where there we settle under prism crystals

We trace benignly through romantic sighs
With the waning and ebbing of the night
Wisp of light prancing round like candlelight
Yielding to rose petals unsettle sight

Before the serene ardent night is gone
And the breath of golden sun rises the dawn,
And the clouds yawn opens the quietness.
I'm drawn to your inner rainbow sweetness.
~
Forever my love my starving heart beats.
my eyes feast
Just for you
For I love you

Act of abuse, frequent event
Someone tailgates our car
No need to rage needlessly vent
Or to foolishly spar

As we shrug and move on
Smile benignly and yawn
We see through ego con

Blow not our fuse

Premium MemberRose and Me

She, like a pink Garnet or rubies, has attracted me,
Her, as my playmate of childhood, all around I could see;
Amid dahlia, daisy, cosmos, crocus, phlox, rue, and pinks,
She has pervaded my garden as queen above all jinks...!

She was my finest gift to sweet Jesus on the altar,
Present to my first school teacher who never did falter;
She has witnessed my first love and me so sweetly flirting,
Though darling mine, like a sphere, pierced and left me hurting...!

Rose- scent ever outwits the sweet Ethiopian myrrh,
Or frankincense of Omen that makes anyone's moods stir;
Though to any friend or foe, I great benignly gift her,
To my parents, on their coffins, I could not just offer...!

Roses gifted by my wife and children, dead, still remain,
Though faded, they fill my casket, always evoking pain...!

Premium MemberLa Luna of the Night

Science says that the moon has no gender,
and some think that the moon is both-   yin and yang;
female and male energy glowing in splendour.
I think moon is like a female boomerang,
a sky goddess that nightly comes to just hang;
sometimes, la lune brings her sparkling star gang !

La lune always gazes down on earth benignly;
representing the rhythm and flow of time,
she embodies cycle and phases divinely.
By climbing in the sky each night beautifully sublime,
and giving me enlightenment at bedtime ...
and I also gaze at her in the dark of nighttime !

“To that Infinite, limitless, endless, eternal, everlasting, boundless, bottomless, unbroken Spirit I bow in adoration forever.” - From the depth of my heart.

"Infinite" is the universe you've created,
Marvelously designed planets, the Milky way;
Each atom minutely, meticulously weighed,
All moving in an "unbroken" heavenly sway...

"Everlasting" is your mercies O, my Master!
Each creature benignly you show motherly care;
Being the sheep of your benevolent pasture,
I live in joys "endless" and feel no any scare...

"Bottomless" is your well of love that overflows,
Quenching the spiritual thirst of each creature;
In "Boundless" ways your loving mercies stand so close,
To those who make your paths their real adventure...

No one knows your "eternal" plans; they are revealed,
Like petals of flowers timely skillfully peeled;
By your "limitless" graces universe is healed,
Only to dwell with you, Lord, may my death-knell pealed...

Is the Moon Made of Cheese

Sometimes I'd wish for the moon and sixpence
so I could ask you out to tea.
The moon would shine it's light, benignly,
and there'd be cakes for my mum and me.
And there we'd sit, just the two of us,
you, giving my hand a gentle squeeze,
just like old times, in better days,
you and I just shooting the breeze.
And asking those all important questions,
like why the rain and why the sky,
and, is the moon really made of cheese,
and wouldn't it be fun if pigs could fly?
Then, like a moonbeam, you'd be gone,
transient, unworldly, lost from view,
until the next time I'd have the moon on a string,
sixpence in my pocket, and me and you.

Mermaids In a Lake

Mermaids in a lake

It is hot today I try to write
words are like wet cement in a ditch
covering empty cola cans thrown from cars
by careless drivers who care not for nature.
ABC full stop.
I stood by the entrance in the shade someone
asked if I was the porter, I smiled benignly
didn´t get upset after all I´m working class.
Had they asked me if I was the director
I might have been less inclined to smile.
I miss my home it is near a forest with a lake
mermaids swim there and have proper feet.
Once I swam with them a dream come true
when it is winter, and the lake is like an ice rink
I skate around and around until I get dizzy and fall
into a trance the dream of mermaids
revive me. I walk home in silence.

Premium MemberIn a Water Schism of Things Not Finished

Maybe it's with all signs Astro that their true ology elements precede us in our poor socio-crafted endless envies, that benignly beholds and molds us, encrusting our deep attention to non-nominal directed people preferentials--- for me, a March fish out of water, that traverses a lonley land of mindmeld ill consequated potentials, is more than doubt/dutiful in a weary design of guilded Awareness anarchies of emotide reversals of social fortune enslaved for an all quiet intent.
In all I am to not drown drawn in its cool wet incapassivtiy and away from its destitute, destructive denial and watery dismiss my essence
of all those things living aimless, seemingly without a concrete pattern, denying who they are in the Dairy Queen of things embolden.
Question?
It's lengthy, flawess, fluid intent to a cold calm countenance
and protective H2o prowess keeps it an
easy, forboding ill intact invasive; then shapes itself to all aimable vernaculars,
copious anomalies, traits, tolerences and tailored toils.
