Bantering Poems

as the tide goes

The long fun bantering conversations
Eye to eye
Lazer beams
Side by side
In the crowd
Walking into the evening glow
Over the glasses of umerock and namachuu
The smooth and calm sway of the train
Our reflections in the window
Talking until there was only
That last train
That last stop
Where it was only us
When it was only us
Us two
Laying down on the grass
Near the river
Side by side
Content in each other’s presence
Thinking back,
I realize that I’ve seen this scene before
From a direct, top view perspective
A year?? Perhaps a few months ago
My psyche somehow
Subconsciously
Somehow always knew
Meant to be, was this moment? You don’t need to try so hard to be
Oh, so cool
Oh, so hardcore
Until
Once I snap back a witty remark
His baby face scrunches into the cutest laugh
He just can’t hold it in
His hand, warm
Wrapping mine
Different yet similar scars
I think we both know
That this isn’t
Casual
Oh no
Much more than that
Oh, not so typical
No need to try too hard
No need to force it
Flowing naturally
As the tide goes

Premium MemberI Did Not Care

She is cross eyed someone argued.
I ignored this, for I did not care.
And she slashes her sword the wrong direction.
Up and down in the air.

She wears her captain hat crooked.
It is always falling off her head.
I ignored their bantering,
I was wanting to fall asleep instead.

How can she be the pirate king? One asked.
She never follows through with even one task.
I did not care. I did not care.
I gave them a mean paw, straight up in the air.

Premium MemberDesperate Hope - II

This intrusion on my psyche tosses
a faint desire for up-smelling roses.
My shrink says this urge imposes losses
that the former countereffect poses.

I'm unable to muster the strength to
combat this bogus hope, this travesty
that impedes my efforts to better clue
cures, possibly true hope would be savvy.

Trust I won't digress to a depressive
state, bantering, hauntingly about my
kind, they'll lock me up for sure, aggressive,
delusions--you're getting all worked up. I

will be back. They're comin' to take, ... it's me,
they'll wrap and cell me, ... but I got the key.

Reach For the Sky

I watched as the lights flashed and golems of flame entered this serene green temple heave our hands closed our eyes we began to vomit flies we comported hand got onto the backs of horses for we were birthed with unseen forces. One man killed for his slandering saw the headlights of the first one eyes of light blinking and bantering off we fly from our metropolis on Saturn ring the crown of our cosmic king the devouring blissful fiend.

They're Cute At This Age

subtitled: The Bolder Boys (rivals of The Golden Girls)
written for a word bank contest - twenty really weird ones

Two graying seniors with appalling chimera
bantering back and forth - mental meandering.
Be it mirage or dreams from another era -
they diminish the other's philandering.

Fanfaronade - from high school boys I would expect
now it re-appears in quite perceptible measures
from our retired magistrate whom I quite suspect
of erroneous accounts of addled pleasures.

While his cohort, an erratic ex-engineer
relates with brazen gibberish his tete a tetes.
At one time more clear and swift of eye and ear,
on blogs they ordain to publish communiqués.

I have found no diffidence which they jeopardize
making harmless though delectable advances,
Noted but honest attempts to digitize
their forte, their skill in dubious romances.

I offered an honorarium of great size
for the first one who would divest his florid page
of any contentious items - to sanitize. .
Gaga girlfriends grin and gush. They're cute at this age.

skin

a lonesome word set above all others
provoking one to strain beyond the epithet
curious to discover the oracular journey
of a single utterance…
skin
will this bard’s quill paint flesh
with colors blanded by prejudice,
heralding the decay of humanity
divided by the hue of
skin
perhaps instead you wettened your lips
anticipating curling your toes beneath sheer linens
absorbing nectarous images of the supplely naked
or the nakedly supple
skin
mayhap you innocently sought
morphological bantering disguised by the poet—
bark of willows
carapacely concealed in the crust of aging
skin
with a solitary word
the mind of the reader roams boundless terrains
seeking unspeakable affections, inescapable escapes,
footloose promenades guided by one…

titters and whispers of the evening
elusive to my conscious mind
bantering and laughter

they make fun of my nightly death
Trixie is the main conspirator
I am out of body, floating

Dare each other to give me the best line ever
I hear it upon awakening
in that ending of a poem voice

best poem ever.
I leap out of bed.
Have to bathroom before it is gone.

Too late. Damned muses tittering.

Premium MemberAn Evening Walk Cut Short

Autumn sky glows yellow against blue hue sky;
turns windy, rainy a long languorous day.
Swirls of fresh intoxicating aria.

midmorning showers
rootless lingering rainbow~
scent of petrichor

Outdoors allure afresh, stunning once again.
Sun kissed fragrant richer fruitful harvest fields.
Woods once rich with leaves fall round and round with wings.

quenching nature's thirst
harmonious double arch~
whole world auspicious

An evening walk to the pond a calming sense;
near the bank we saw large bear paws sunk deeply
into the mud, quietly cutting our walk short.

black bear foraging
spawning fish bantering play~
heart beats in slumber

Premium MemberThe Rainy Month of September

The Rainy Month of September

We both did quaver in our perchance encounter,
When she slipped under my umbrella seeking shelter,
From the splatter in the rainy month of September.

And my heart palpitated as we made bantering chatter,
While my eyes progressed to scan her alluring composure,
There under my brolly in the rainy month of September.

The dying summer’s weather enabled our exposure,
To which we both confessed as to what was our pleasure,
In the atmosphere of the rainy month of September.

Though fairer skies breached to dampen my spirit,
The flower of my eye dithered and did not wither,
And I wished it’d rain forever in the month of September.

Premium MemberMy Husband Buys Cars

My husband makes car deals
He has bought thirty-eight cars for us and others
He loves the bantering of prices
Something I despise

I am used to walking
We get so close, but they will not come down
To the price he wants
Insists on

So we walk.
We have walked away from more deals than we have closed
We walked away from eleven car deals in a row once
At ten different dealers

They always think we love the car too much to walk.
There is always another car; we know that.
At one point he turned to ask me if we had a check.
I almost fell off the chair.

We were buying one!
I had become so used to walking
I had not thought to bring one
And neither had he.

Is Coronavirus Almighty-

coronavirus
comes for the self-quarantine,
isolated life

coronavirus
comes to wear an oxygen mask,
to shut the mouth

for that virus
our dead while living existence
has nothing to do

isolation, closing door,
dazed lives in dark knowledge
for that virus

coronavirus
comes as the saboteur
spreading secret fear

coronavirus
does not believe in unity
of world human

coronavirus
refuses to worship together
in the prayer house

coronavirus
comes to lets go of the belief
that God exists

coronavirus
comes imperceptibly
with boat for the dead

death for the virus
giving birth new bantering tale
in that beliefs

who is Almighty?
in belief-disbelief game
God or the virus?

A tribute to Tommy, Son of Spock, he might get on some of Souper's nerves with his bantering , but he really is very charming and compassionate.

Premium MemberPolka Dots On Faces

While all the ribald pranks bubble,
made-up faces grin across conference halls--
botox-filled, pimply holes smoothly done
where bag of word- tricks fumble: and allies
looking like nitwits roar in noisy guffaws
bantering with other co- stooges
whose exchanges tangle in crazed quips.

A showtime of indulgent egos now outwit
each other… these officials unmindful
that polka-dot on noses, foreheads, jaws
concealed by make-overs are now melting:
Just then, a well-groomed speaker bangs
the gavel to end day’s hysterical circus...
tell me, how can inane clowns be worthy
of prime news when all they say are fake!
